- Down on the Farm 2024 | Spring - Fall with Farmhand Mike
In this video I take you through the entire 2024 farming season on a farm that I help out on. In the video I cover all of the field work from planting through harvest.
This farms and the land you see in the video is in Darke County Ohio and over into the Winchester Indiana area.
This video was filmed and edited by me with permission from everyone involved and is not to be copied and reused.
Thanks for watching and please Like, Leave a Comment and Subscribe to my RUclips channel.
This harvester is so powerful, I think it could mow my lawn in 10 seconds
Huge respect to the team behind this farming season-your dedication is inspiring! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride, Farmhand Mike! 👨🌾🚜
That Deutz is sharp Mike!
I love the Newer Deutz. They have come a long way from 40 yrs ago when they bought Allis Chalmers.
Probably my favorite vid so far. I like the more talking and more details about diff things.
Thank you mike for this video
This was a good video to go from doing spring tillage to planting corn and soybeans to spraying the crops to wheat harvest to soybean and corn harvest and then get some fall tillage done .
Thank you mike this was a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the winter.before you know we will be back into planting season.
Great video about the full growing season👍😄 It's nice that you help that farm whenever you can👍👍
Interesting find and at 4:20 in the afternoon? Looks like that corn may have lacked...ah hm...weed control. Don't let that go through the combine--you won't get a lick of work out of it the rest of the day!!
Hey Mike I really appreciate your videos we live out in bc and my 2 1/2 year old and I watched your videos for hours on end during Christmas break.
God bless and keep up the good great work
Thanks,
Good video.
Awesome video for a snow day here in Kansas! That looks pretty awesome at 11:30 and with a jug of Iced Tea I know I would be set for the day ! Never seen one of these (this brand) disk @ 27:30 ! #1 for Fungi, Fungi or Funguses are both plural for (Fungus). Hahahaha - Thanks Mike !
Thank you Mike,Great video 👍
God bless❤✝️🙏
I like the jm grain carts
Cool video Mike 👍
I like Mike less video on RUclips from the imperial county ca 🚜🇺🇲
field markers all the way GPS is great but old school is the way that I plant beans corn we use our GPS but I work all ground in front of our 16 row deere planter
We're Wheat Pickin'!
Hey Mike, I see you were working ground down by Fords transmission just off of US 36. I only live about 4 MI from there. I was reaching out to see if you knew of any local farmers looking for help this spring?
Very interesting and entertaining video. How many acres is the farm covering, everything seems to be on a huge scale compared to what we are used to here in Ireland. Also how did the Deutz TTV perform over the course of the year, is it your own tractor or just a demonstrator? All the best for 2025 👍
1:23:22 Wow. That's the first time I've seen weed growing in an actual field in reality.
Thanks for the video, Mike!
I'd pronounce it Fungicide, not funjicide. I'm pretty sure the word comes from latin "fungus", and Latin doesnt know a J. XD
Curious. Is the corn planted in the grassy areas between fields? Auto shut off outside boundaries?
Where do you see the top out for tractor size. Looks like there would be a point of diminishing returns. Same with combines.
Also, is anyone up north seeing aquatic animals being practically extinct.
@@ralphllivrah9551 I think tractor and combine size really depends on the area and how much a guy is farming. It’s all over the board around here. What aquatic animals are you talking about? We have frogs and fish around here. Beavers have made a comeback. Muskrat populations are down compared to when I was young. Mink actually seem abundant. Never seen a mink as a kid but we did trap one. Now I actually see them from time to time and I’d say frogs and fish would be a big part of their diet
@ we have rice here. In the early 90s I suspect something, chemical, was put on the market. The frogs disappeared. I was curious if it was a chemical or fungicide used. The snakes and frogs are practically extinct in the swamps snd bayous.
That same year ducks went away. It was scary how few there were. The sky’s would turn black. I suspect they, because of how the breed were affected by something in the water.
Dicamba,I was told, was very little different than DDT.
The rise in chemicals is staggering, farms have less tractors, and all own a spray rig. It’s going to affect,or kill us all,in my opinion. I’ve seen the waters go empty here.
We just put it in neutral when we fold
That's what the book says to do... 😉
Do you put a roller to your no till soybeans?
No we don't
1, funga
I'm wondering do you use bio diesel and or ethanol gas in tractors and trucks if not why support farmers use biofuel
Bom dia aqui em santo Antônio da platina está tudo bem e aí
How wide is that speed disk?
There were 3 different high speed disks in the video so I'll answer for all. The Versatile is 25 foot wide. The Amazone is about 20 feet wide and the Brandt was around 16 feet wide.
