Hi Justin Yes the days of digging a hole and filling it with pebbles are gone mate . The crate system is great . Easy and better . We usually if got a digger build with a scoup of the bucket down a bit just in the centre and leave. Then put crate over the top ? We hope it acts like a drain out lowering the water table a bit more ? Every bit helps and so far we have done about a dozen of them with no water coming to the top yet other than normal surface water Justin? Have a good weekend mate 👍
John dont tell brad that he be crapping in the soakaway 🤣🤣🤣 no sorry i cant help my poor humour just me mate got to have a laugh. Always enjoy your post and you knowledge and willingness to share brilliant mate keep them coming .thats what this channel is all about sharing knowledge to help each other. Take it easy john mate 👍
What happens when you dig and find the water table at under 1M (I think 800? Was planning to dig to 1.2 to accommodate two crates stacked, base, fill and the soil. Would it still work to lay 6 single rather than doubling?
Well the ground has to be assessed with a percolation test on the ground .There are videos on other channels. So if the ground fails the percolation test the a soakaway may not be suitable for the ground 👍
@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping Doing good buddy on a big block on flat retaining wall today will finish tomorrow hopefully. Great stuff Justin will be tuned in for it cheers 👍🏻😎
Wouldn't bother with gully put a silt trap in on the end section of slotted drain you can get them built into slotted drain just take of slotted section & lift out like a handbag & tip silt out just that would work better Cheers Tim 👍 ps great work your doing
Look forward to watching the rest of this, been looking into putting one in my back garden as it floods in heavy rain
More to come reece stay stunned mate 👍

Always good info from you john thanks mate 👍💯
The same way as a cesspit works . Solids collect in the first catchment chamber , and fluids pass over into the soakaway . ☺
