I love when he says "Tree is happy" and they pan to the guy looking up at the tree like "are you happy though?"
Super helpful! Thanks my Cdn brothers - from London UK!
There should be a minimum of overlap of the fabric. The overlap results in much slower soaking through to the void. Cut the fabric to fit with about a 2” overlap and staple it.
Thanks! This little video has helped a large problem I have!
Thank you so much for your help .
Very good vid and info .
Now if someone were to dig that hole up many years from now, they'd think they'd found either a box of treasure or a time capsule!
I have a backyard that is landlocked and when it rains heavily some water can seep into my unfinished basement. Do you think this would be a good option? I like this idea.
I would love that rain barrel. Do they sell them online?
Why is this placed right next to the foundation of the house and a tree?
What's with the pan shot of the onlookers??

It’s like they’re hypnotised by how amazing this stormwater solution is .
I'd swear it just panned across a still image!
where did you get this rain barrel?
I live in Southern California and only have DG soil. Good news-Bad news. Do you have the name of the "Rain Tank" you used in this video. I searched and only found solid plastic ones with drain "holes". It looks like the one you show would drain much quicker and handle more water when we get a big rain. Thanks. Larry
Very interesting! Tell me how to use this system for a shop toilet daily usage? Please reply. Happy day. 😮😮😂😊😊❤
I live in Etobicoke where the soil is very clay-like, and because of it, I get puddling in the back portion of the site of my backyard after a heavy rainfall or with a snow melt. Would something like this be a good idea to install in the rear? Great video!
It may Fernando but you should also consider other options to help you soak up rain water. Here's some more you could consider: www.raincommunitysolutions.ca/en/for-property-owners/soak-it-up/
How long till it it degrades and pollutes the ground with plastic waste? I think a metal frame soakbox would be more compatible for our future and our environment...
I live in the States and I can't find a source that sells the soakaway crate.......does anyone know where I can buy one?
Rain tank or aqua block …type it in online to see options for purchase.
When waer table level rise in the ground the dry pit will faill
Soakaways are used to pass your flooding on to your neighbour here in Dalkey, Co.Dublin, the fact that the flooding is grossly polluted with sewage is irrelevant it seems.
ann mcgoldrick Sorry to hear, but Ha that cracks me up. I loved my time in Dalkey!! Have to get back one day! I can just imagine them doing it at Dalkey Island hotel, but there weren't many neighbours to dump on...
Not too close to foundation of house?
In my oponion is too close to it
@@bartoszbielecki1722 should be 5m away and deeper at least 1.6m deep
Hi where do I find an expert that can advise me if this system would work for me? Also where can I buy this aqua block or rain tank?
I can not believe no one answered your 7-year-old question. If you sorted it fine. I would install a french drain.
I can't believe a women asked "will the water flow through the cloth" Doh!
nah, Its just to make it look pretty
Could grow grass over the top
All water discharge must be send to the storm drain in the street
Why not, instead of dumping the water into the earth - catch the water with the tanks that are already in place & keep that water for watering the gardens. So long as you have leaf catchers the water will be pretty clean & perfect for the gardens! If you attach a filter to the outlet, you could even wash the car/s and/or outside furniture & even the house!? Saves using precious water supplied by city councils etc and you not wasting it by dumping back into the ground.
did you notice where the pipe is that leads to the soakaway pit? did you notice it is at the top of the tank? at the top. that's a hint.
