    I love my 2013 Accent. It has 175,000 miles and I've literally done zero work to it besides oil changes, tires and front brakes, which I've only had to replace one time. I'm getting ready to replace the transmission filter and fluid for the first time which is why I'm here lol.
    I have no warning lights on and my a/c even works still which is required down here on Florida. It has been the best car I've ever owned.

      Awesome, This is my wholesale account link that will give you about $33 off on $100 order.
      Also when you use my link I will be your Amsoil dealer and the lookup guide will give you all the products for your year make and model I would also do the coolant and the Dominator coolant boost The other one that's good is the PI performance improver will clean your valves and your injectors you'll make a lot more power and better fuel mileage and then the of course the motor oil engine flush and the transmission fluid will shift a lot better as well.
      If you ever have any questions always happy to help anytime.

      Nice!! I have a 2016 accent with 114k and I'm here in Florida too. Yes the a/c gets a workout here 12 months a year.lol I've done only maintenance and it's been perfect. I haven't done brakes yet and the front pads have around 50% left. I've done the trans fluid twice. I definitely would recommend this car to anyone and if you're on a budget this is perfect.

      So i’d like to ask for when put in the order: did each drain yield 4.1 quarts? So if i’m trying to do two drain and fills as you did in the video i’d need buy at least 8.2 quarts correct?

      you're always better getting a couple extra quartz that way you won't have to pay for shipping on an extra quart.

  • @achristian7015
    @achristian7015 4 года назад +5

    There is a Level Plug on the front of the transmission. It looks like a plug with a 3/8" square like your FILL PLUG. I believe it is a 1/4 turn to loosen it sort of like a bayonet plug. If you remove it, you might not have the issue with filling it and the fluid backing up.

    Thank you for taking the time to do this video. Did you ever confirm/check the fluid level before and after you did this? From what i have seen on other videos, you need to check the level by removing the the check level plug since there is no dip stick. Also, do you have the part number of the crush plug on the drain? And if you did check the fluid level, do you have the part number for the check level plug gasket? Thanks again for the video.

    • @Syntheticoilprotection
      @Syntheticoilprotection  5 лет назад +3

      Great questions here I was not able to find a check on it so I just refilled it with what came out and I also cross-referenced with the capacity of the pan and what came out was basically very close to the capacity of the pan so there's no reason to check it.
      Also the crush washers I have never replaced one and I've never had one leak on me yet.
      I always torque my bolts anywhere from 18 to 30 pound feet of torque that's it

    I poured real slow, because the fill hole is small and filling too fast caused spill over. I also used a long funnel. I will cut the bottom at a slight angle for next time. Good comment on overflow.

    By the way, in other videos, before driving around, others suggested to start the car, warm it up, then do some shifting of gears, with the emergency brake on. That's what I did. Also, I drove the car for a day, for about 30 miles, then did the second drain/fill the next day. I might have a slight amount of extra in, as there is the tiniest stream when I checked.

      Personally I wouldn't fret about it just make sure there's adequate fluid and check your owner's manual do your due diligence to make sure you have roughly the listed amount in the transmission pan there's room for error so even if you're half a quart off it's not going to hurt anything

    nice video! im going to do this in the next 3000 miles in my car, the owners manual on my 2014 accent says to change it every 60,000. question though, was it really necessary to do the second flush? i understand your reasoning, but it looked like the second time you removed the drain plug it basically just poured brand new fluid out

    • @Syntheticoilprotection
      @Syntheticoilprotection  5 лет назад +5

      You're pretty much right the second flush is only changing about 20 to 25% of the old fluid.
      If it was my car I would do the second flush so that's why when I do it for others I do what I would do to my car that's how I help everybody as if it was my personal car.

      Hey Gary there's a couple that I really like there is the amsoil silicone spray for all the door seals and soft rubbers and plastics I also like the MP metal protector which you'll see is for metal parts It's odorless and it's a penetrating oil that doesn't stain. There's also a degreaser I think I used which is the engine degreaser All of them are great My favorite too are the silicone spray and the MP metal protector those are my two favorite aerosols that amsoil makes.

    Ever use the engine & transmission flush before doing an ATF fluid change? Would love to see a video of it being used in a transmission. Is it worth it or just doing fluid changes enough?

    • @Syntheticoilprotection
      @Syntheticoilprotection  5 лет назад +2

      I will be doing a video with Jeff on a transmission that we can change all the fluid and will also do a flush on it.
      Most of the Transmissions that I do you cannot change all the fluid and in that case you don't want to use the flush because you don't want to leave any flush in.
      Some of the Transmissions you can disconnect one of the transmission fluid lines and you can pump it all out

    • @DR-rk4qu

    My car just started making a whining noise when I put it in reverse. I’ve taken my 2016 Hyundai Accent and gotten the transmission serviced a couple times since I bought it. I’m not sure if it’s a wheel barring or the fluid possibly being low. I do know my check engine light has been on and the code was for the Catalytic system. I’m so frustrated bc I use my car for work and I’m not really sure what to do and being a single parent I don’t have tons of money to sink in the car. • @andy-auto-info2483
      @andy-auto-info2483 4 года назад +1

      If you have a CVT, you must change your fluid every 50,000 kms (Just a simple drain and fill as shown in this video). CVTs generally generate more heat than a regular Automatic. So change your fluid often. Logic is simple - HEAT kills the fluid which inturn kills the transmission. Keeping your ATF fluid clean/functional for any transmission is the key. Use a quality Synthetic like Amsoil.:)

    Why did you do a flush instead of a drain/fill? I always hear people say not to flush. Is it a myth that flushing is bad?

    • @Syntheticoilprotection
      @Syntheticoilprotection  10 месяцев назад

      Great question on this one we just did a drain and fill the flush is another additive that can get put into the transmission and idled however it's ideal to get all the old fluid out if you do do a flush there's also a different types of flush there's a machine that they hook up that flushes it that one is the one that most people don't recommend because the machine can dislodge particles and if you don't change the filter you could have clogging however when you do a standard pan drop on most Transmissions you change the filter and that way you don't have to worry about any clogging when you change the filter so most people refer to the best way to do it is just do a basic transmission fluid service which is a transpan and filter change where they drop the pan change the fluid and put it back.
      Other cars there is no transmission pan to change some are just drain and fill most Honda's Toyotas and some of the other economy cars are just the basic drain and fill like Nissan and a couple other ones especially some of the CVT transmissions it just depends on the component the transmission and the model

      That's a great question I would most likely still change it you may want to have a technician take a look at the fluid to see what it looks like and they do not have an oil filter there just a basic drain and fill which is very simple

    I thought that water sensitive electrical parts needed to be covered. I asked my mechanic if I could spray engine de-greaser to clean dirty engine and he said it could get damaged. Also I noticed that you simply wiped off the de-greaser. I have a Hyundai accent and want to clean the engine. Is your method safe. It didn't seem like you covered or avoided any area of engine when you sprayed the product. Also what product did you use.

    • @Syntheticoilprotection
      @Syntheticoilprotection  5 лет назад

      It's the Amsoil engine degreaser.
      Also I would definitely not spray it directly into any electronical fuse boxes or anything like that. If you hit a connector for a second it won't do anything.
      Still be cautious LOL

      Great question just depends on the vehicle you'll see some have a changeable filter others are a basic drain and fill you'll see a lot of CVT transmissions are a drain and fill and also a lot of Honda transmissions are just a drain and fill and then you'll see most GM and Ford have a changeable filter and magnet that you can clean Take a look at the playlist on transmission fluid changes on my channel page you'll see how most vehicles are one or the other

      Of course thanks man yeah I always just do drain and fills and I don't take any lines off because some fittings are made out of plastic and it can get cracked and it's not worth replacing parts when all you need to do is just drain and fill it or just drop the pan and fill the pan and change the gasket so that's all I like to do but the best thing to do is doing a flush by taking the lines off but to me it's not worth the time..

Vehicle drives smooth though. Any concerns changing it at this stage? I see the manual recommends change at 100K. I feel that we may be at just the right point if not a bit over but also fear that it's gone too far and fresh fluid may reveal and exacerbate previously unknown issues. Great question I don't remember exactly because I always do a double flush on them to get most of the old ATF out but this is the Amsoil lookup guide and if you're going to get Amsoil I recommend becoming a preferred customer because you'll save 25% off and you also get free shipping on any order $100 or more.
