Those speakers are designed to be amped. So It will give them low/mid eq boost. The sound difference to me atm sounds like that there's more treble coming from the tweeters. Playing with the eq will help but maybe its the mic etc. Manual multi EQ settings normally you want to be in like a pulled out U setting (in a graph setting) but applied to a stereo its more limited. It also depends on music you listen to and the normalized sound level. Best have a play and see how it sounds, i would stay away from the pre set sound eqs
I fitted pioneer speakers in my little Peugeot. The car doesn't come with rear door speakers which we custom fitted along with a underseat sub in the front passenger seat. I did originally by alpines but they were too deep and the windows would just scrape on the back of them when going down. Also fitted a Kenwood stereo in
These where just an off chance purchase in the hope they sounded better. I feel they are a little better but not what I was expecting 😂 I will try the amplifier next to see if any better :)
New speakers needed some seals around the back of the speakers before installing. Otherwise bass quality will be affected. Also i dont recommend installing aftermarket speakers if you dont or still have the stock head unit. Because the stock speakers are made for the stock head unit, installing new aftermarket speakers will cause loss of low end notes.
Thanks for the advice, going to try and swap the speakers round but there is no difference in sound it’s the head unit itself underpowered as basically a tablet 😂 I may bust out the Amp from the loft
I was quite happy with my speakers as my headunit is a decent one but after I got a second car with better audio it's giving me the niggle to try this as well.
I must admit these speakers are a little better than standard however will need an amp to make them better I think and get the full blown potential out of them. Next you know I will be putting a massive sub in and 34 speakers 😭😂
Thanks mate, I think you can get adapters to fit the 6x9 speakers but I don’t use the car that much to upgrade them, plus my headunit is weak powered and does not do the speakers any justice
Using a 5"X7" speaker design was one of the dumbest things Ford has done in my opinion. Where I live, those speakers are expensive and hard to find. Fitting the much more common 6"X9" types are impossible, without an adapter, which is impossible to find here.
Is annoying they don't make much of a difference. I was going to buy them when my door cards were off while waiting for the retrim. But then thought IL save my cash as don't listen to music much. Mad thing is when I had a X Reg Corsa I slammed a pair of 6x9s on the partial shelf and the sound was epic. The clarity and bass was awesome. I never touched the head unit or any amps. So why was the sound 22 years ago so good and these cars dont get more sound from better speakers?
I think it’s the headunit in all fairness not up to the job 😂 I think with an Amp they will be better, was worth a try. Maybe Vauxhall like their customers to have good music lol
@@DJLloydy maybe yeh the older Corsa had a good head unit which could power much better speakers to the standard ones. So in person you feel there is not really any difference? Thing is I like the look of our head units as they look OEM but wonder what is actually a really good head unit that fits nicely and has an amplifier built in?
I mean there is a small difference, they sound better on the video for some reason lol I think the standard unit has more power than the new head unit, with a small cheap amp I reckon I can boost these bad boys but I don’t want to keep throwing money at it lol

I think I know what you mean, the mic has made them sound a little different I think, I will have a mess around and phone you when it’s broke lol

Great video mate. Looking at getting an ST150 very soon! do you think 6x9's will fit in a mk6?

Hi mate sorry not got a clue :(
What is the original brand mark speakers in the fiesra? 😊
These where made by Ford as got FOMOCO on the back, just generic 25w speakers from what I know.

Have you got a link for these please
Hi, I can’t seem to find these anymore on eBay :(
another nice MOD yes it does sound better
Thanks mate, listening back it does sound different but I think I was expecting something incredible 😂😂
How did you get CarPlay on that head unit please?
It comes with the unit itself when you buy it and works off of Bluetooth on the phone
@@DJLloydy mine doesn’t have it on☹️☹️tried getting apps but no joy
This one was built into it when purchased so don’t think it’s an app you can download
@@Cookie-pct if its an android headunit you probably can find an APK to get it to work.
If i wanna Change My speaker on my fiesta it Works to with original Radio?
Yeah you can add any speakers and it will work with original stereo
Got Ford Fiesta Mk6 Zetec
A great choice of motor!
