- UPDATE: Crafting the staff is no longer so easy. The 20% More spell damage mod was moved from Aetheric Fossils to Shaper-influenced staves, and is now 1/4th the spawn weight (significantly less likely to roll.) The +3 Lightning gems mod is more important, so it may be more efficient to spam Alterations for it, Augment and Regal and hope for something decent, then multicraft the rest. Spamming Aetheric and Metallic can still result in something good, but it's not as likely as before.

I actually do recommend this build. It's a bit squishy, but I was able to do all content with it for relatively cheap, and it's super fun. In the right circumstances, you can really crank up the clear speed.

It seems POB has a bug where it no longer supports passive trees as old as patch 3.9. It's not the import that's failing, I still have the original in my POB and that didn't load the tree. Considering we're on patch 3.22, I'm not sure anyone cares.
Even if it were to correctly load, I suspect converting to 3.22 would de-allocate a lot. The build is quite old.
wanted to make the build during sanctum actually but just couldn't find any semblance of a usable tree :)

It's finally been done, a lightning warp build for a reasonable cost that can clear the entire game! I'm usually impressed by your meme builds, but this is on a whole new level of goodness, hence, I'm floored by how ridiculous this is.

Of all things I've learned from this, you can build your entire character around a movement skill and Flame Dash will still be a better option for movement.

I was confused at first when you said BenThunder's Truck, then I heard the guitar and immediately felt like an idiot for not getting that initially.

Lightning warp is so bad as a movement skill that he still needed flame dash to move decently fast.
Lightning Warp isn't unusable, it's just better when combined with an instant skill like Flame Dash. Also, I specifically did not optimize for movement speed. The ~27% remaining duration and Spell Echo make it slower than it could be.
Lightning Warp has no cooldown, so you can spam it, and if you weave an instant dash between them, it's twice as fast.

Watch Fast AF Archmage video. He uses Lightning Warp as a movement skill there. I couldn't even imagine that it could be that good for movement.

let's be honest... flicker strike just is not that good anymore... too difficult to control in content that demands it, at least i haven't seen any builds that actually really make it work
so it's probably rich man's flicker strike if i'm honest

@@psinjo Kind of a scrub but I did try to make a CoC Flicker strike LW build this league. It was both amazing and cancer. Wish I knew what the fuck I was doing though to actually make it work.
@@psinjo I did the saviour full cold build and the damage is really good. Tailwind + Frenzy gloves + Tribal Fury + Awakened melee splash gave a big buff to flicker strike. They also granted 20% Frenzy on hit on gem and I use 10% Frenzy on hit Body Armour. It's really good.
I personally use also a Redeemer foil and neck for cold pen and cool stats.

@@c-ez3337 I'd have to agree, the melee splash is so very much needed for clearing. Even with an explodey chest, melee splash feel way more smoother

We went from Lightning Warp Totems to flat out Ion Cannon Self-cast nuking in a duration of a single patch.

TODAY THEY CHANGED LIGHTENING WRAP:
Lightning Warp has had its cast time lowered and has a higher value of reduced Skill Effect Duration than before. This makes it easier to invest in but still requires more character investment than other movement skills as a trade-off for having no cooldown.

eii. OP if you see this: how was vaal light warp? useful? does anything? Orb of Storms enough supplement or +VaalStormCall? noiloveumore
Vaal Lightning Warp is standard-only. No longer obtainable.
That said, I bought it in standard to test it, and it is only slightly useful in 1 scenario: Warping enemies near a wall so you can Fireball shotgun them.
Even then, it's not good because it doesn't warp all the enemies to the center of the target location, it warps them in-place in that direction, so they are just as sparsely placed as they were. Would only be useful with reverse knockback cyclone, then Vaal Lightning Warp into a corner, *then* Fireball shotgun.
Orb of Storms is great. I should use it more often. Solved all of the build's clearspeed problems and does plenty of single-target by itself on a 5-link.
So how would you recommend leveling up to this build, and at what level can you start driving Ben Thunder's Truck?

I did a LW character a long time ago because it was fun (berserker), but that isn't quite comparable to what you've done at all for sure, good catch on the changes !
would the grey spire, and an all blue build, be able to scale frost wall damage? idk fi they stack but its an idea i wana do next league, would like your thoughts if its doable.
There are technically more efficient ways to scale the damage, probably involving Cold to Fire and non-Chaos as extra Chaos, but yes, the build would do damage.
It would be absolutely horrible to play, because you have 3 charges and you'd spend all 3 and not kill a rare mob, but it would technically work.
IIRC, someone on reddit several leagues ago had a Decay or Poison Trickster that could kill Uber Elder with any skill, and Frost Wall was one they used to prove it. I don't know how much better that way would be.

How would the Archmage Support work with this?
It doesn't.
Archmage support is absolutely incompatible with this build. Our cast speed is too high and our mana investment too low. Awakened Added Lightning adds more lightning than Archmage does.
For the record, because other people keep asking, Spellslinger is even more incompatible. All of our mana is spoken for, we're using a Staff instead of wands, and our cast speed is significantly higher than Spellslinger's cooldown. The DPS would be less than 1/3 of what it is if you tried to Spellslinger the Lightning Warp instead of self cast it.

@@Tooopf It's about half as good as an Added Lightning Damage support. You'd have to scale mana insanely just to make it slightly better, and then not use the auras, and given that we're using Zealotry and Wrath, that's ~40% less damage in order to use a support gem that is *slightly* better than Added Lightning Damage.

Also I tinkered around with this but uhh...How do I know if Spell Echo is working? I've tried aiming the second cast to see it triggering but I can't see. Is it actually noticeable?
The spell echo will always cast the second warp in the same spot as the first one. It's there for boss DPS.
Orb of Storms IS the clear skill.
If you Warp -> Flame Dash into a pack, then press Orb of Storms, then Warp away, most packs will be instagibbed. Basically, mash buttons.

Hey, only one question. Why Pledge of Hands and not Duskdawn? Second one dont require unleash and all that, have decent damage and uniq. Sum dmg from orb of storms and warp is higher. So why?
The use of Pledge of Hands was based on the hopes that repeating Lightning Warps would have a bugged interaction: That it would only do the casting animation the first time, and the repeats would cancel the animation. That's not how it works in practice, so I switched to a good rare. The rare is significantly better DPS than Duskdawn.

Hi, its possible to do with Rare/Unique items or only with Magic and with Jewel?
You can use non-magic items. If each of your items grants at least 25% increased damage, then it's objectively better than using magic items.

What is the damage calculation at 2:17 @ lower box? Where does 3.17 cast comes from?
Orb of Storms triggers an additional hit every time you cast a lightning spell while standing inside it.
Triggered and repeated skills don't count.
Since our Lightning Warp setup uses Spell Echo, our 6.34 cast rate is actually 3.17 "casts" per second, resulting in 3.17 Orb of Storms procs.
