Something I find much easier is the jump because you can much easier get the 3 star on the jump because you lose less speed. It also keeps your momentum going while escaping cops after hitting the jump. Didn’t even realize this was a valid strategy to avoid cops because I always bank my rep once I avoid the cops

Yea cops definitely go over 200 MPH in my game but i don't have it set on easy. I usually just catch lots of jumps or go into the container yard to break LOS.

I have another method: go to the containers part of the map and jump on top of one of them using the ramps and wait. You should be safe in a few seconds since they can't get on top. Also you have a safe house a few yards away,

Yeah, I had that happen. I've also had two cops make the jump with me and refuse to get off the roof. TWO. I was critical, no repairs left, and they were hungry. Then they just, died. After giving me a heart attack while speeding at me. Guess they weren't allowed up there. lol.
Perhaps a helpful tip for new players who still have to level up to get these parts: In a bind, you can quit to lobby, immediately restart the game, and have your XP primed (although the Heat is lost) to level up. All you have to do afterwards is get back out at night, and either go right back in to bank XP or keep going as long as you can manage.
In Downtown, there is a speed trap by the west side of the coast. Going North, just past that speed trap there is a jump that if a cop goes over it, it immediately gets taken down. If you can hit the ramp at 70 mph, you can instantly escape.
I swear these are the most scary cops I've ever seen in any videogame, i just bought the game and holy crap they stress the hell outta me. They busted me, and that got me raging and with a blurry mind i disconected the console so it didnt save... Ended up with damaged data 🙂 not playing it again in a long while.

Down at the docs area you can jump on the loads of crates and lose the cops just like at the mall. And at the racetrack you can also take the dirt jump leading into the track and you will lose the cops, you can also jump on the buildings in the racetrack to lose them
Not gonna lie, i found that out by jumpin off a hill to the road below to make a fast short cut an they all wrecked their cars. Aint even know that was the best way till i did that 🤣🤣 now I'm just lookin an finding better ways than random hills that i hope i come apon when i need em lmfao
Discovered the racetrack tactic before and it works great. Also any elevated area that you need to get to via jump works as per the mall jump in the video, there's a bunch of other jumps to rooves through the city that also works. Also jumps over water areas work but you need to make sure that you slow down before the jump so that your acceleration makes it for you, cops may be able to travel 200+ mph with you but they can't accelerate to jump over water in a short distance like player cars can.
Fr like lobbies are so empty. They should increase it like forza horizon cuz the map is pretty big plus they could give us proximity VC so if ur nearby a somebodies car u can talk to them
Dude im someone who's been playing nfs since Underground 2. i have NEVER in my THOUSANDS of hours of NFS playtime ever had as many problems with cops as in this game. Heat is a 9/10 for me purely because the heat 5 cops have more rubber bands than my teeth in middle school
Most jumps can get cops off you up until heat level 4. At level 5 only certain jumps work. I have found the speedway jump that takes you from inside to the outside is a good way to lose the cops. Just be careful that cop reinforcements are not showing up as your approaching the jump otherwise you can find yourself jumping into a 4 car ambush.
For all the people with drift cars, you can also drive into water or some kind of river, the cops will follow you into the water while your car respawns next to the water.
I just go to the shipping crates by the beach and get on top of one of them and wait till the cops leave and the garage is next to it so .. yea win win
For the third tip, a better way is run the racetrack, wait till all the cops enter to the racetrack and then go (literaly like a drag) to the big ramp that takes you outside, you jump and immediately the cops losses you Other tip that i recomend use in last case is go to a beach or river were you can damage the car, go near to the edge, the cops tries to pit you, they fall and die. If you have enough live, try to take speed, go straight to the beach/river, launch to it, the cops following you won’t have enough time to brake and eventually will fall, this tip is 98-100% to work, depending if chose first or second version

Here late but got game a few weeks ago and my sons first nfs heat. I maxed everything and now just buying for fun. Your vids helped in past 2 weeks. My son will use this cop one for sure as this is his biggest issue. Great work!
The first time i reached heat five was very early on, and as I was getting chased by two corvette cops, i managed to throw one of them into another one, which gave me just enough time to get away and finish the night. This game is tough.
Just picked up this game on steam sale recently, and I've been able to successfully and consistently escape from level 5 cops by taking the jump out of the Racing Track Circuit area.
What I usually do to outrun them if I already run out of repairs is go to the container place where you pick the Aston and start to jump. Eventually they lose your track. It really helped me out more than once xD
Getting on top of the shipping containers in Port Murphy also does the same thing as it would when making the jump from the parking lot to the mall rooftop in Edgewood Valley and it's easier to make that jump, at least for me anyway.
a thing i found out to escape heat 5 is really interesting. in port murphy, there is a container section with a lot of ramps. use one of the ramps to jump on the containers, but don't be to close to the edge
Some of y'all never played NFS Hot Pursuit, and it shows. Those cops are the most ruthless, unforgiving, savage cops in the series you'll ever encounter. But NFS Heat is a close second lol. I first got the game like a year ago, I played for a few hours, and started doing night races with my low tier car. I got to heat 3 and kept getting busted before I could make it back to my garage. After getting busted twice, back to back, losing all my stuff I rage quit and didn't touch the game for months. Recently I picked up where I left off and now I have a mid tier car which does ok at night. I usually get up to heat 3 before I wrap things up. I will have to keep the mall roof in mind as I do want to push the envelope more, and I need parts. Thanks for the tip. On a side note for others viewing this, one thing I noticed is that if you have your waypoint set, you seem to be more prone to running into cops on the line than when you drive around without using it. I seem to have an easier time getting back to my garage after escaping or finishing a race when I don't set my waypoint, learn the map or make frequent pauses to see where to go if needed. Also hit ramps as often as you can. The cops usually lose control and crash out when they hit them. Finally from some reddit post which works, if you have a bunch of cops, drive into water. Just be ready to haul ass as soon as you respawn. It helps whittle down their numbers. Be advised that if you have flat tires, you will respawn with flat tires, so keep that in mind as well. Also it does add to your damage so only use it in a dire situation. I kind of wish they had Most Wanted 2005 style traps in this game, but now that I am getting in the groove, I kind of like the challenge now.
My girl bought me the game yesterday in summer sale at the playstation store for $23.82.. got busted with the car I selected in the story. This is very helpful. Especially the valley mall one easiest way ever.. good looking out my guy!
All the starter cars are slow, heat 3 feels like heat 5. Engine swap as soon as you can, also you can take upgrade parts off of your starter engine and put them on the other one.
Also, one helpful tip i noticed, just drive to docks, where you get the aston martin db9 volante, with all the containers. If you keep driving around that area, 100% of the time, you will lose the cops
In the upper right of the map there's a few high rep circuits close to each other. One of them teaches you the perfect course for evading cops by jumping over the river and back. I think it unlocks around 200-220; you can grind rep here easily without much police interference - the circuit is tight and the jumps are so back to back the cops can't really keep up or damage your car, plus you easily get the level 5 multiplier. I typically go up 4-6 levels or so and around 2-350k rep per night without even pushing hard.
the rinos are pretty east to avoid when you know how they work. they go straight for you. after they crash they will just despawn. but if you get hit by one, they do a ton of damage.
Yea I do this then do a handbrake turn shift 3 gears and blast all my nitros or go off road doesn't always work tho but I forgot about damage repair this info was what I really wanted
Was stuck on a story mode mission tonight. Got it on the 4th try by using the old drive the railroad tracks trick from GTA. Wish this would've popped up in my feed sooner. 😂

MadHunter well funnily enough I was trying to see if they would chase me up the ramp at the time. It was then I discovered they “can’t” get you, if you land 🤷♂️. If it’s doable in the game, it’s not really cheating either 🤷♂️.
Or you can run a rally set up and hit the train tracks, guarantee you lose them before leaving the first tunnel, cops don't do off roading especially if you can hit 180 off road
Theres another technique that i like to use which allows me to lose heat level 5 in stock 180SX (129points) which is jumping over water in the city centre (cops get destroyed when they are jumping over water) and then making one of the long jumps towards the petrol station and from there its just a straight lune towards the garage.
I will say the heat 5 intensity is insane in nfs heat. Playing this the first time with my homies was so fun but so frustrating cus by the time you hit heat 5 you weren’t getting away unless u could hit 200 unless you knew how to get loose in the city 😭😂 it was so much fun when we first got some 400+ cars and started dusting the feds
You can use the roof top type escape at the bottom of the map when you get on top of the shipping containers. That was the first one I learned. At the race track you can travel in reverse and hit a ramp on the inside of the track to jump put of the track and on the surface streets and the cops won't follow you.
i sat on that mall roof top for 15 mins and I still couldn't escape and after those 15 mins i accidentally jumped of the roof and got rammed... rip grind
Taking a break from forza to play this, and omfg night is brutal, in normal races on medium difficulty during the day i clap AI and other players both, but night time cops and high heat races are so hard haha

A couple of extra tips that work for me a lot: Use as much high speed jumps as possible. The cops just will not jump, or fuck the jump up. AVOID VERY LONG STRAIGHTS AT ALL COSTS. When you're alerted about a rhino, immediately look at the mini-map. You'll be able to see where he comes from and easily avoid him. Look for cover. Cops cannot see you through walls, unlike cyberpunk 2077 cops. Windy roads (especially uphill) give you a huge advantage over flat roads, because elevation changes can provide a bit of cover. You need as much grip as possible, since you need that advantage in the corners. The cops use Ford Crown Victorias, Chevy Corvettes (C7) and Dodge chargers. Not exactly cornering monsters. ABUSE THIS AND DON'T USE DRIFT PARTS.
This is harder than getting a five star wanted level in GTA in the military and they have explosives and guns and helicopters that shoot at you but yet NFS is still more unfair

It amazes me how many people don't know about the shipping containers over in Port Murphy that dose the same thing as the mall jump or think the mall is the only place like that and if you take a jump over something like the water in Port Murphy for the flanker race you will lose them aswell
The shipment container area also has jumps where you can land on the crates instead of going over them. If you land on them , its the same as the mall roof
Nice tips 👍 Cops also gravitate towards your GPS route, so it's better to not use the GPS to get to where you're going. Also, ramps in general KO cops pretty easily. They almost never make them.
I might have mis-spoke but I recommend radar disruptor if your goal is to run from cops. Damage reduction is great for staying out longer and earning more rep.

So far in all of my builds, I've just been using whatever gives my car score the highest boost. Is this the wrong approach? If so, what should I be doing? As for engine swaps, what makes a lower HP engine better than a higher one?
*Pagani... thats all you need. 1 hr. and I had all my ult+ parts. No jumps, no tricks. Just Pagani and patience.. I hit the circuit track and spam the speed trap in the center then I shoot over to the Heat5 race. Also make sure you are in offline mode. When you open you map, the game pauses including the cops. Super easy!!

You can also constantly increase your heat and rep points by hitting the speed trap in the circular race track.

a thing i found out to escape heat 5 is really interesting. in port murphy, there is a container section with a lot of ramps. use one of the ramps to jump on the containers, but don't be to close to the edge
Some of y'all never played NFS Hot Pursuit, and it shows. Those cops are the most ruthless, unforgiving, savage cops in the series you'll ever encounter. But NFS Heat is a close second lol. I first got the game like a year ago, I played for a few hours, and started doing night races with my low tier car. I got to heat 3 and kept getting busted before I could make it back to my garage. After getting busted twice, back to back, losing all my stuff I rage quit and didn't touch the game for months. Recently I picked up where I left off and now I have a mid tier car which does ok at night. I usually get up to heat 3 before I wrap things up. I will have to keep the mall roof in mind as I do want to push the envelope more, and I need parts. Thanks for the tip.
On a side note for others viewing this, one thing I noticed is that if you have your waypoint set, you seem to be more prone to running into cops on the line than when you drive around without using it. I seem to have an easier time getting back to my garage after escaping or finishing a race when I don't set my waypoint, learn the map or make frequent pauses to see where to go if needed. Also hit ramps as often as you can. The cops usually lose control and crash out when they hit them. Finally from some reddit post which works, if you have a bunch of cops, drive into water. Just be ready to haul ass as soon as you respawn. It helps whittle down their numbers. Be advised that if you have flat tires, you will respawn with flat tires, so keep that in mind as well. Also it does add to your damage so only use it in a dire situation. I kind of wish they had Most Wanted 2005 style traps in this game, but now that I am getting in the groove, I kind of like the challenge now.
My girl bought me the game yesterday in summer sale at the playstation store for $23.82.. got busted with the car I selected in the story. This is very helpful. Especially the valley mall one easiest way ever.. good looking out my guy!
All the starter cars are slow, heat 3 feels like heat 5. Engine swap as soon as you can, also you can take upgrade parts off of your starter engine and put them on the other one.

Also, one helpful tip i noticed, just drive to docks, where you get the aston martin db9 volante, with all the containers. If you keep driving around that area, 100% of the time, you will lose the cops
In the upper right of the map there's a few high rep circuits close to each other. One of them teaches you the perfect course for evading cops by jumping over the river and back. I think it unlocks around 200-220; you can grind rep here easily without much police interference - the circuit is tight and the jumps are so back to back the cops can't really keep up or damage your car, plus you easily get the level 5 multiplier. I typically go up 4-6 levels or so and around 2-350k rep per night without even pushing hard.

the rinos are pretty east to avoid when you know how they work. they go straight for you. after they crash they will just despawn. but if you get hit by one, they do a ton of damage.
also try driving on the opposite sens of the road and dodge the incoming cars, it will give u some space between police corvettes since they follow u
Yea I do this then do a handbrake turn shift 3 gears and blast all my nitros or go off road doesn't always work tho but I forgot about damage repair this info was what I really wanted

Down the bottom of the map, there’s a jump with a building just after the ramp. Land on that building and the cops can’t get you.

MadHunter well funnily enough I was trying to see if they would chase me up the ramp at the time. It was then I discovered they “can’t” get you, if you land 🤷♂️. If it’s doable in the game, it’s not really cheating either 🤷♂️.

Or you can run a rally set up and hit the train tracks, guarantee you lose them before leaving the first tunnel, cops don't do off roading especially if you can hit 180 off road

Theres another technique that i like to use which allows me to lose heat level 5 in stock 180SX (129points) which is jumping over water in the city centre (cops get destroyed when they are jumping over water) and then making one of the long jumps towards the petrol station and from there its just a straight lune towards the garage.
another tip. if you saw a nearby train track. just jump on it and go toward north. Once you reach the tunnels, the cop cars will turn around.
I will say the heat 5 intensity is insane in nfs heat. Playing this the first time with my homies was so fun but so frustrating cus by the time you hit heat 5 you weren’t getting away unless u could hit 200 unless you knew how to get loose in the city 😭😂 it was so much fun when we first got some 400+ cars and started dusting the feds
You can use the roof top type escape at the bottom of the map when you get on top of the shipping containers. That was the first one I learned. At the race track you can travel in reverse and hit a ramp on the inside of the track to jump put of the track and on the surface streets and the cops won't follow you.

Quick tip: if you use the race track to round up all the cop the do the large jump out of the stadium it will lose all the cops
Taking a break from forza to play this, and omfg night is brutal, in normal races on medium difficulty during the day i clap AI and other players both, but night time cops and high heat races are so hard haha

A couple of extra tips that work for me a lot:
Use as much high speed jumps as possible. The cops just will not jump, or fuck the jump up.
AVOID VERY LONG STRAIGHTS AT ALL COSTS.
When you're alerted about a rhino, immediately look at the mini-map. You'll be able to see where he comes from and easily avoid him.
Look for cover. Cops cannot see you through walls, unlike cyberpunk 2077 cops.
Windy roads (especially uphill) give you a huge advantage over flat roads, because elevation changes can provide a bit of cover.
You need as much grip as possible, since you need that advantage in the corners. The cops use Ford Crown Victorias, Chevy Corvettes (C7) and Dodge chargers. Not exactly cornering monsters. ABUSE THIS AND DON'T USE DRIFT PARTS.

It amazes me how many people don't know about the shipping containers over in Port Murphy that dose the same thing as the mall jump or think the mall is the only place like that and if you take a jump over something like the water in Port Murphy for the flanker race you will lose them aswell
The shipment container area also has jumps where you can land on the crates instead of going over them. If you land on them , its the same as the mall roof
Nice tips 👍 Cops also gravitate towards your GPS route, so it's better to not use the GPS to get to where you're going. Also, ramps in general KO cops pretty easily. They almost never make them.

Jumps help a lot. all kinds of jumps are helping to lose cops but the best ones are bigger ones or jumping over things.
Jump over the water in Palm City also works every time because either they dont Jump or they crash trying

Hey you messed up when you said damage reduction was a active ability. It’s in the second slot. ALWAYS run repair kit and radar disrupter.
I might have mis-spoke but I recommend radar disruptor if your goal is to run from cops. Damage reduction is great for staying out longer and earning more rep.

*Pagani... thats all you need. 1 hr. and I had all my ult+ parts. No jumps, no tricks. Just Pagani and patience.. I hit the circuit track and spam the speed trap in the center then I shoot over to the Heat5 race. Also make sure you are in offline mode. When you open you map, the game pauses including the cops. Super easy!!
