    Wish I watched the stream but it was 4am for me in the UK!
    20:28 - "make it crazier, WILDER" - I would not be surprised if this is a reference to Beth Wilder
    1:08:22 - Obviously this cave is referenced in Mr Hatch's note at the end of QB. I feel like it is possible this cave could be a past version of the Oldest House? In Control we learn the Oldest House takes whatever form needed to blend into the surroundings so in a primitive era a cave would be a natural structure of course - maybe Door found this, and maybe interacted with an Object of Power. Jesse states that we need to find the origin of Door to stop him, which may mean finding the part of the Oldest House which granted Door his powers to stop him in Control 2? Just a wild theory...
    Also from the Coffee World episode a small detail which made me smile was the inverted pyramid logo from Control, which is all over in the style of a drip filter coffee

    Remedy games should really be played in order from newest to oldest. It's wild how many references and hints you can find from previous games that you most likely missed when you first played them. Like in the beginning of first Alan Wake there is a poem by Zane "For he did not know, that beyond the lake he called home, Lies a deeper, darker ocean green. Where waves are both wilder and more serene." that rings a lot different if you have played Quantum Break.

      I agree with you, haha - I was honestly more thankful to play Quantum Break after having played all the others so far as it made the game so much better for me! It's *wild* to realize how far back, since AW 1, that they've been planning all this! It's absolutely brilliant!!

  • @Leuncode
    @Leuncode Месяц назад +1

    Poets of the Fall did make a song for Quantum Break, but because of some bureaucracy it didn't make into the game (no wonder Remedy left Microsoft after QB 😅) - they changed it to some capacity, and released as "The Labyrinth" in the album "Clearview"

    19:33 "I will come back for you, my love" hit even harder for me! I reckon the significance of this particular line is easily missed due to silly nature of the scene and it simply showing an actor performing his lines.

    I've not really seen this mentioned, but the Ripple Effect Corporation (REC) is a direct play on Monarch Solutions (rather than the FBC) because Monarch -> the _butterfly_ effect -> Ripple Effect

      Oooh this is a great connection - a less obvious one, and no less amazing! Thanks for sharing - BOOM, Butterfly effect!

    Hey, just a little advice: you should check out the final draft ending. The ending of this chapter makes a little more sense that way. You can look it up on RUclips if you don't feel like playing the game again.

    45:56 - Bruce SAVAGE is the main character in *that* screenplay in Quantum Break 🤣
    Lisa being first on the list is also curious, as in Max Payne 1 there's a character named Lisa, who has an "evil twin" 🤔

    • @ricketygames
      @ricketygames  Месяц назад +1

      OMG BRUCE SAVAGE! How could I have forgotten, hahahaha! 🤣 You're always coming in with the best LOOOOORRE drops - thank you! I totally forgot about Lisa from Max Payne!! It's been so long 😱

    I appreciate the stream!
    8:40 To give some context, in 2012, months after the release of AW American Nightmare, a woman named "Samantha" started a blog where she talked about how she bought an old house, how she found an old shoebox filled with poems and photos, and... well, better stop here. This whole thing deserves its own stream and I can't wait for you to speculate about it. 😆
    1:06:37 Concepts aside, "The Sea of Night" is a song included in Old Gods of Asgard's album Rebirth. You might find it revealing.
    1:24:51 Actually, you've missed a very peculiar manuscript page.
    1:31:29 The ending is the same, no matter what you choose, but there are different routes to that ending. Somebody on Reddit made a chart with all possibilities, and every single one drops a bit of lore.

      Heyy thanks for all the LOOORRE drops! I'm excited to check out this blog from our mysterious Samantha! Between you and many of the other comments, we are checking off all the names on the white board! I'm so intrigued!
      I've definitely heard the Sea of Night song, but my ears weren't perked for information - they will be now, haha! 😆
      I knowwww I realized once we warped, that I missed that manuscript, sadness!
      And great to know for that ending! I can't imagine how wild it must be to go through all the endings with all the lore - I give all the kudos to Mr. Sam Lake!

      @@ricketygames Thank you for answering! It's nice to see other people putting so much effort into scrutinizing Sam's universe. I'd definitely listen to "The Sea of Night" after experiencing the... let's call it... "Tree of life route" in the text adventure (Edit: Right, that's the one you got the first time).

      It's been great to join a wonderful community of thinkers, all trying to piece together this great Remedy Universe! I'm so listening to that song on my way home from work later 🙌

    I like how before Dark Place and universe switching had metaphors connecting it to ocean, maelstrom, black hole, worm hole and this DLC had more references to psychedelics as a metaphor for tripping between the universes.

    • @ricketygames
      @ricketygames  Месяц назад +1

      Yes!! The Dark Place that constantly adapts and its 'alternate' versions are so on point for the RCU! You make a great point that Oceans, Maelstroms, Black Holes and Worm Holes are all places that one can be pulled into, fall into, or be sucked into! The psychedelics add to that, haha - tripping between the universes is amazing. I'm sure I'd need to be tripping in order to come up with half the stuff the brilliant Sam Lake has. I don't know how he does it, but I'm glad he does!

      @@ricketygames Yeah from the caleidoscopic effects before the comic to insane things in the text based adventure (which totally remind me of trip reports online in so many ways). They definitely did their research well in a one way or another! 😂
      Btw by opening the last save you can go back and play the text based adventure as many times you want. There’s a few interesting parts you’ve missed.
