This device is difficult to access. Your video, with arrows and close-ups and various angles, is so clear and well-explained, I might actually replace my printhead.
Thank you for the great Video. As Quinnxx mentioned below it is really important to remove the two top screws. I removed the printhead of a four year old 6700, cleaned it and installed it again. Problem fixed - Printer works :-)
Great video but you forgot to show to remove the two top screws in the back of the printer in order to pivot the ADF and glass scanner bed. Other than that minor omission great video in how to open this printer.
The hardest part for me is trying to get the ADF and glass scanner bed separated. I found the two screws on the back close to the top, removed them and still it does not want to separate.
As good and helpful this video is, I am stuck on the removal of the front panel shown between 3:19' and 3:22' - that corner on the upper right corner just does not come off and I fear breaking the plastic part using more force. The front panel is loose on all other sides, can be turned within limits but the right upward connection between the front panel and main body does not move. Does anyone know, what kind of mechanism holds there, it feels like glued in? Does not seem to constitute a problem for others doing this.
@@dienstagwicht This is a VERY common design feature of most modern electronics. Honestly if the printer is not working, simply pry it open despite the resistance. It won't destroy the printer, it will just make it easier to open the next time if it does break. The way these things "snap" together is usually a small plastic bracket that clips onto a raised pin-like tab that is on the opposing piece. The result is two parts that snap together easy, but don't come apart easy. Another method is to pry it open enough to slide in a credit card, and swipe the card while gently prying the plastic.
No worries, people. 2:08 Pushing the colored ring at lower part of each cartridges certainly will NOT remove the "ink" on its own--but the ink cartridges.
Great video... However, I replaced the printhead and still get the massage "There is a problem with the printer or ink system". Got any ideas what I should check next? Thanks. Rick
thanks for making this...but i stripped the screw in the back so it went in the garbage. would be nice if they could use decent screws, and we didn't have to use a hex.
So. How exactly do I remove a hexalobe screw? My regular hex keys don't seem to work, I gather because of the curve of the slot in each screw. Google only refers to surgical implants regarding these kinds of screws.
Mirla Criste You can buy the T-10 Torx at amazonm see link below... www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KFV9C8/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=xianece1-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B000KFV9C8&linkId=301e12667b9a2fa0c4be12e96d281e5a
The top screws in the front were like...pre-stripped when I tried to do it despite using a T10 hex (all the other screws came off fine). Might have to give up =/
It seems that all printers are programmed to irreversibly shut down after a certain use time and to make even more money they shut down after a new set of printing ink cartridges are installed !!!
It didn't show the two screws on the back, which I only found out after I broke the printer trying to get the glass top off. Oops. I'll read the comments first next time...
I know it's late but I'm having the same issues and figured out. You didn't place the transparent thing in place. This line indicate the printhead where it has to stop
Hi, I followed all instructions, replaced the printhead, everything is as it should be but I am getting an error message which prevents me from printing or scanning: "The print carriage cannot move. . ." and telling me to remove obstructions. I followed the HP video, checked everywhere, did a hard reset, soft reset, etc etc. I can't get past this and I don't know what I am missing. Can anyone help get this to work now? Thanks for your help.
You didn't insert the transparent encoder tape back into the encoder which is mounted on the printhead circuit board. Its an easy fix. The same thing happened to me.
What INFRURIATES me and makes me want to torture someone at HP? Is how EVEN though you have plenty of black ink it REFUSES to print if one of the color cartridges is supposedly too low...WTF?? Also in the same light if ANYTHING is wrong with printhead or cartridges? Won't let you even use the scanner?? I will NEVER EVER EVER buy another HP..or Cannon for similar reason! SCREW these greedy THIEVES
On the screen help the crooked ASHBITES should simply pulling the print head and replacing it similar to ink cartridges? CROOKS! THIEVES! SUMBAGS! DEATH to HP!
What's with the music? Lose the music and explanation (person actually talking what they are doing) with red arrows would be better. Hate the music sound!
It's just music, dude. Why are you so passionately against it. Someone likes it if they made it, and this guy does because he put it in his video. Just turn your volume off.

Thanks for the instructions. Made my life a lot easier. Much better than struggling alone!

Thank you!
I agree...you forgot that, but i was able to open it anyway! Modify the video and add the tip!!!

Yes!!! I nearly broke the plastic in the rear of the glass bed knucklehead!!!
I was able to fix my printhead problem because of your video, thank you for the upload.
The video was very helpful.
I took out the head, unclogged it and reinstalled it.
Thank you.

YEAH HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU?

Excellent video for the patient one. We need to post the directions to Best Buy.

Thanks so much! You saved me hours and money! It works perfectly.
Whoa, this is not an easy job! Thanks for posting this instruction video.
THANK YOU!!!! BIG HELP!!!! :) :) :) Regards from a Mexican in Germany! :)
TY for the video!
What effects the ink cartridge snap in?
Where are excess ink pads?
HP 6600
Thank you! We did it :)
Great video but you forgot to show to remove the two top screws in the back of the printer

Rick Hamlet Same Problem
I got same problem after I clean pretty well.
thanks for making this...but i stripped the screw in the back so it went in the garbage. would be nice if they could use decent screws, and we didn't have to use a hex.
I tried to clean the contacts of the print head. Still doesnt work. I assume there is failure date „written“ in the software. Bought a new printer.
U did the right thing ! All brands in US are designed to break down in 2-3 years of modest use, sooner for heavier use.
great review sir
Thank you very useful for me :)

How do I replace the Wi-Fi card, and where is the motherboard of the printer?

amzn.to/2denJJG
How did you know I needed a printhead?
He's enlightened. That and you asked him "How much does print head cost?"
AliExpress ;) 21-25€
@@edwarddinaro5775 u asked how much a print head costs so they guided you to it 🤨
I replaced the print head but then it showed up 0x61000f6 carriage jam error with very wierd noises!!! And how to fix it? Thanks
Angelo Mancino : We changed the printhead today. We have the same problem as you. Do you find some answers?
Edith Boucher unfortunately I didn't! At the moment my printer is back in its box 😞
Angelo Mancino thank you for your answer.
I know it's late but I'm having the same issues and figured out.

Maxime Desmarchelier can you post a picture or something more clear? I still have that printer...

Kindly double check all the cables if properly intact and connected.

thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine gives me the error code and when I removed the print head ink leaked. I got it for free so ima gonna scrap it
My scanner won't come up dude :/
you need to remove 2 more screws from the back of the printer in order to lift scanner !!
thx but still problem remains
パーツ交換には成功しましたが、駄目でした。
I'll just buy a new printer
I never will buy this. N EV E R
Needs narration during the application of removing and replacing printhead - better still show someone actually doing it.

Try to check if the cartridges that are installed is/are not yet expired.
this music is distracting and TOO LOUD!!

Poor product. A money pit. HP is h-pee-pee (pi-pi in Spanish).
