    Hi Jessica! First would like to say LOVE everything you do, thank you for sharing your knowledge. I would like to ask you a question. So when I do glitter tumblers I’m using the mod podge method and last ones I made it seems like the seal at the top was not good, do you always sand and leave that little space at the top or do you epoxy all the the top part of the rim? Thank you in advance

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  3 года назад +1

      I always sand the rim down. Part of the reason I don’t like mod podge method is because that rim tends to be a little thicker and harder to sand down

      @FlynnSistersBoutique  3 года назад

      I would use 30ml of epoxy for a 30 oz with this technique. I don't use a chart for amounts, I've just kind of figured it out over the years. Generally I use 30-60ml for the first coat and 10-20ml for each layer after that depending on the size and design

I had a couple runs so I sanded them out and I figured the glitter would cover the blemishes.. but I can still see blemishes in the paint after a coat of epoxy and a lot of glitter. Can I do another coat of epoxy and glitter or would you recommend I didn’t? I’m not sure how else to fix this issue :( your help would be greatly appreciated!

      If it’s a translucent glitter like we used here you will see the imperfections. I would just remove the paint with some acetone and paper towels and try again. Remember to shake your paint for at least 60 seconds and spray from 10-12 inches away in sweeping motions. Don’t over coat. It’s better to do multiple light coats than one messy heavy coat

      to smooth out any additional bumps that might occur so that you get a smooth finish on the final coat.

    I tried this and I got a lot of lumps that were rough mostly all over the cup. Is it better to just undo it and start over or can it be fixed?

      I think it’s a great alternative to epoxy and there’s a lot of new creators making great content about it.

    What brand of epoxy are you using? I couldn't finish one of mine with only 2 coats😭

    How do you combat micro bubbles in your epoxy?

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 года назад +1

      I let my epoxy sit for a few minutes before applying, and I use a torch. Alumilite has minimal micro bubbles so it's easy to get them out.

    Can you do a black tumbler with this method

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 года назад +1

      Probably not with the ombre effect since the whole point of doing it this way is so you can use one translucent glitter for the whole cup and use different colors of spray paint to create a glitter ombre effect. I suppose if you wanted it all black you could definitely put a fine, pretty sparkly glitter over it with this method.

    Question on the recommender sealer.. Do you spray the sealer on top of the water slide once it is dry or on the picture before?? I clicked on the amazon link for the water slide paper and it says "clear acrylic sealer required to seal image" it might be a silly question but this will be my first waterslide.. thank you.

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 года назад +1

      You would print it and spray the sealer over the image 3 times, letting each coat dry, then cut it out and then apply it

      I have not been able to source one with a stable link because they sell out so quickly. You can find one by googling: "full face organic vapor respirator"

    Hey jess love your videos girl...could you tell me what epoxy you use...I am currently using alumilite....and when I think its mixed well some times is real sticky after...i was disappointed first cup i did for my grandaughter... and it's still sticky after 3 weeks...

      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 года назад

      Terri Freehill thank you 😊 I use Alumilite also. How are you measuring? How much are using at one time?

    • @tvinylbydesign6842

      @@FlynnSistersBoutique hi jess using 1 to 1 ratio

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  4 года назад

      Terri Freehill the only reason it would be sticky after that long is a measuring or mixing issue. It should be completely hard and non sticky after 24hrs
