  • In this video, we get the new Lifetime Manta Angler ( model 91302, model 91350 ) onto the North Branch Potomac River for some Trout and Fallfish fishing and more swift water testing of this new fishing kayak.
    Parts list to come!
At only 10ft in length, this kayak is actually a bit of a monster, with a 38" beam and a weight of 79.9lbs. It is a Tractor Supply (model 91302) exclusive in this variation, but Walmart is also marketing another variation (model 91350) that is available for shipping. It is not currently available directly through Lifetime. In the fifth episode of this series, we get a very good look at how the Manta performs on swifter water.
In the next episode, with a likely release of Sunday, Aug 4, 2024, we will better cover swift-water performance and figure out what else the kayak might need to become a daily driver.

RA flair has me riding the couch instead of floating this week. Glad your new yak is working out for you👍

@@ri-jm5tn I've been on the struggle bus, myself, with the psoriatic variety for the past month or so. I literally feel your pain. We need better access to existing therapies. Some of them work like magic, but are upward of $10k/month. It's ridiculous.

@@BarryP Sorry to hear. I'm on a ton of pills $ aee $14k per injection therapy which fortunately is covered. They tell me that long covid is responsible for some chronic issues, but symptoms are very similar to RA, so who knows? Hope you're back on the river soon!

Nice video. I hope I can stay that calm if I ever get turned around like that. If I ever get to take it out 😂 Glad you didn’t get skunked.

It's remarkably easy to stay calm in this yak, but the rule applies in every yak. If you get hung up like that on the nose, let it settle into its upstream position and allow it to free (if it doesn't need any help). Be aware of downstream obstacles and turn accordingly, and get the heck out of there. The cool thing about the short, blunt and relatively heavy Manta is that it's super easy to turn, as you saw. This is definitely going to be my daily driver.

That water looked really bony. Was it low, or is it always that shallow? Those rock gardens would be a blast if it was a foot deeper

This is actually an area with a controlled flow from upstream reservoir discharge. It is on the low side, as the last couple of years have been pretty lean rain-wise.
