    Still have my Cordia Artstars I bought in '83. I'd still put them up against anything. Very versatile drums!

    i met simon in 1978 at a drum clinic at wurlitzer in boston.
    i remember someone asked him how he practiced playing double bass drums - he said he'd read the newspaper while practicing them. that always stuck with me.
    i gave him my pen to autograph something - with everyone else asking the same - he couldn't figure out how to work the pen. i twisted it and gave it back to him.
    nice memory. bangbetter.xxx

    Not sure what magic I'd have to conjure for the kit at 0:09 - but if you folks know - please tell me.

    Do the tension screws come with rust like the one on my star bass?

    • @totigerus
      @totigerus 4 года назад

      no the new ones come with cob webs

    • @gaboogablah
      @gaboogablah 4 года назад +1

      @@totigerus I would have rather had cobwebs than rust on a part on a $1500 bass drum. The rust came from the factory, cobwebs can occur in your house.
      Hoshino USA is a good rep, and will help, but when you're not in the states and it's only the dealer a tama Japan, you're screwed if there's any problem because tama Japan never responds to the customer and the dealer doesn't want to deal with warranty issues nor does tama Japan. Japan thinks they're above reproach and is never at fault. The shells for star are Japanese, but the hardware is Chinese, so there's the problem. Bad chrome finish, rusts in the factory, gets used in the new Japanese product because they don't check the screws in Japan because they don't make them. For as much as a star costs, everything should be Japanese and everything should be double checked. It's no wonder they are making every model, including Starclassic in China now and only the star in Japan. Might as well just get a cheap Chinese set than the expensive Japanese set. But nobody should be buying Chinese products as long as it's possible to get Japanese, Taiwan, Germany and US products.
