Coney Island by Car

I heard that you could drive to Coney Island in Sligo, so the wife and I went to check it out for ourselves. Was it possible to drive on the beach, drive on the sand, then drive across water to reach Coney Island? On this video we drove our little Toyota Corolla over to Coney Island which is the ORIGINAL Coney Island, like the one in New York. To get to it there is NO ROAD whatsoever, though there are some tide markers and these very large concrete tubes every few hundred feet. It was a day of adventure
