The pokestops with no photo and description were added by Niantic themselves a few years ago in some countries that didn’t have much Pokémon Go activity. It was done using some automatic system that made most random businesses and points of interest POI in game. They just added these in Brazil a few days ago too
My apologies, I may be responsible for some of those submission of pokestops with no pictures. I was there a couple years ago, and I was kind of in a hurry. I was randomly submitting as many as possible, and I think some of those may have been mine. Unfortunately some of those older ones do not show who submitted them or a picture if you didn't submit one with the request.
I know YT algorithm probably doesn't favour this kind of videos/schedule but your travel videos are always my favourites. Good for Chance for not wanting to be on camera, I hope you had a nice family trip despite the stomach bug.
Hi Nick! I will be 68 next month, and my heart smiles every time I see you playing Pokemon go with your Mom. I hope your sister was able to heal up quickly 💓 so she could enjoy the rest of the trip, but sorry you got sick too! I hope you all are back to good health by now. Good to see your videos again. Y'all take care! 🥰
@ThatOneAmericanAndGermanDude Thanks 😊 wasn't fishing for birthday wishes lol. My 44 yr old son plays pokemon with me when he has rare free time, and seeing Nick with his Mom is something I identify with. He has a good bond with his family which really makes me smile 😊
Chance! We miss you! Hope he's doing well, good to see your family out playing with you again. 😊 I love these videos, playing in interesting places where no one else does. PoGo is such a fun tool for exploring a new place. I think even if I do one day stop engaging with the continuous content additions, I'll still open the app every time I go somewhere new.
The photoless PokeStops were imported by Niantic from a database called Foursquare. They used these imports to populate more Pokestop in rural countries (Turkiye, Brazil, India, Phillipines.). Alot of those imported locations don't even meet the actual approval criteria of Wayfarer.
In Turkey too, these no-picture stops emerged about 3 years ago. Over time as people took their pictures, the number of no-picture stops decreased but at least my group and I stopped taking pictures. They all appeared out of nowhere one night so yeah it is probably automated from Niantic's end
Any tips about the local Pokemon Go scene in Turkey? Going to visit Istanbul and Cappadocia in October, would love recommendations on meeting folks for trades or raids
@@kevinlin9578 if you are going to visit İstanbul I can recommend you ''Kadıköy'' is one of the best places to play pokemon go there is too many players in there also when there is a PoGo Fest you can easily find the community in a place walking together! Sorry thats all I know about İstanbul and unfortunally I live in another city called ''İzmir'' if you ever go there try to go ''bornova'' there is a lot of pokestops and gyms with too many people joining raids etc.
I love watching your travel videos! I’m from Guam and of course with all the similar looking beaches and plants, I can almost imagine that you came here. Thank you for sharing the world from your POV with us!
Hey! I found your channel a few days ago and I’m so glad I did! I’ve gone back and watched so many of your old videos and I was hoping you’d release new content! So happy to be here! can’t wait to see more 😊
wow, i get how that trainer feels to meet someone or a total stranger who also plays PoGo in a rural area here in the phillippines, he must be surprised to meet you
Two options. A few years ago Niantic did a sweep and just added Pokestops of certain points of interest and if they didn't have photos within their mapping data they look like this. The other option is Niantic didn't used to sweep strictly for copyright photos now they do so sometimes stops wont get pulled but the photos will if the algorithm thinks the photos might be infringe on copyright. Either way the solution to this is to add photos to the stop and it will get approved and add the photo where it is missing.
What a coincidence, I have already been there. I was there 3 years ago, with the intention to play Pokemon go. I was trying to visit places that were so remote, the chances of Pokemon being knocked out of gyms would take more than 24-hour. I had to use work vacation time. So why not do something fun. I even controlled all of the Pokemon gyms for Mystic for almost a week. It took me less than a day to go over the whole entire Island and take over everything. I think one of my Pokemon is still in one of those gyms on the island. And that was well over 3 years ago now.
bro, the other island above Siargao is my place and I'm the only one playing pokemon go on it. You'll be surprised to see a little town with less than a 1000 people but filled with gyms and stops after I started nominating them.
Mabuhay, Nick! Hope you enjoyed your stay in the Philippines! I'm headed there myself in two weeks. Couldn't be more excited for the visit after watching your video.
Real honest content, love that there is no deleting shinys or accounts, but just playing in a location where thing are working against you…. you are a genius..
Here in Brazil they just added a ton of these pokestops with the generic pokestop picture. They are all local businesses, that are not sponsors , but are marked in Google maps.
Pokestops with no pictures are the stops manually added by niantic by dumping them from foursquare database. They did it in many countries to boost gameplay. There were 3 waves of such additions here in India recent one being less than a year ago. Mind you that all these stops are very low quality and just generic things
Looked like a super fun place to play the game. Even if the shiny haul was low, lots of good island vibes. Looked like you had a nice family trip. Hope the stomach bug has passed!
Photo-less PokéStops in Pokémon GO are PokéStops that appear on the game map without a corresponding photo or image in the game’s database. These PokéStops are usually created from real-world locations submitted by players through the Niantic Wayfarer program, but the photo submission may not have been approved, or there may have been an issue during the submission process.
I love how your standing next to what looks to be a cell tower/ power substation when the game refuses to load. For future reference strong electrical signals directly interfere with gps
Family visiting from abroad would always only drink soft drinks to keep the bug at bay. Filipino stomachs are lined with steel. Not even bottled water is safe sometimes. Hope you all got better from the stomach bug and hope you come back to the PH again! :D
I really love your content where you travel to different countries while playing Pokemon GO. I was so surprised to see you traveling and playing POGO in the Philippines. Wow!
At least with the campfire you can check out a grid before you go as to make sure there actually is a grid there before you go. Unlike the old days where you could not. It was a gamble or word of mouth.
Damn I haven’t watched your videos in over 4 years or so. You look so different and but im very happy to see that your channel is doing well. I hope you are doing well too. All the best
They could make those animations for mythicals more immersive, it would be cool to see the other random pokemon in the video spawn in the wild after catching Marshadow or other legendaries
Hi Nick😊Your adventure videos are one of a kind and so much fun! And your voice and the way you speak are easy for me as a non-native English speaker to understand!! Thank you for your awesome video✨
Wish you stop by Davao City too. There's much more active groups playing here. We also have alot non picture pokestop and gymns. I always thought it's because the picture submitted is not up to par.
Nick actually a real one out of them I feel the most genuine and people person and someone I could see myself around. Poke daxi not bad also but the rest seem full of themselves and I like nick content alot and the places he visits and bring us all along to see. Sorry about your sister hope your trip turns out good and safe travels.
Watching this and 1. Very happy you went to Siargao - this city is near where I am from Butuan City and 2. When I saw your mom, my GF asked where Chance was and 12:30 got me excited! Hiiiii! Chance!!
Scrubtched up face when checking stats. OMG I think we all do that! With the ‘ok’ response. So funny. I feel your pain. I did global go fest on St Martin in Dutch side capital. zero other players. Saw a few signs of life but no live players.
A lot of people had better answers about your photoless stops but technically stops submitted through ingress also don't show who subbed them - I usually sub through ingress for portal keys and AP despite never playing
For it to be deserted it has a lot of stops and gyms. I went to El Nido on 2019 and all I got were 3 gyms (one near at my place, another in town and another at the El Nido airport that might not be anymore since when I touch it on the map it keeps loading). Loved the place though.
Can’t wait for Marshadow to be released to those who didn’t pay for a GoFest ticket. It’s one of my top 5 favorite Pokémon. I saw a few pokestops without pictures when I went to Cancun this past week too. Very odd.
