This was by far the best video I found to help me with my Marine Quadrajet. It would not run below 1000 rpm and only one primary jet was spraying. Your trick on taking the rpm to 3000, closing the choke while going to full throttle did the trick on the second try. I did it a total of 4 times for insurance. It idles down to 400 rpm now. I did find something odd. The air horn hold down bolts were loose. I found the sequence and torque in a Seloc book for Mercruiser and I'm on the Lake again. Thank You so much. Henry Lee, I really want to thank you for this super video. It helped me figure out my problems with my M4ME quadrajet. I have it dialed in perfectly now.
You will never see your secondaries open unless you are looking down the throat of the the secondaries with the car at WOT and under load. You can't check this while the car is stationary and you are revving the engine. Its an incremental adjust and test situation.
I set mine up just for a millisecond of bog to get that kick like a mule feeling lol everyone likes things a little different but yeah when I hit it in low gear and the rpms about 2000 you know something happened tee hee fun stuff
Thanks for these Quadrajet videos. They are by far the best I've seen.
Great video and info, what would cause flooding at idle? Venturi tubes dripping fuel. Engine runs good at all other times
