Your's slid in so much easier, I struggled for a good couple of minutes trying to get it in position. Good job.
Thanks. Was ok once I figured out where it went 😂
Perhaps the Gap is caused by the thumb screw fixing holes not aligning well. Perhaps if those holes were oval/slotted it could be pushed flush? Alternatively the gap is by design to stop it getting hot and burning people…?
Yeah possibly. To me it is not a big deal really as I don't see food getting caught in it for instance.
i would say its designed to have a gap to stop food getting stuck between the Dome and the mantle
I don't have a problem with the gap. It's not like it's big enough to have anything drop between it, so don't see what the issue is. I wouldn't mind the mantel, but I think it's price is a piss take. A quick release would be helpful, so would having a bigger/better cover
Totally agree. It is so much money and being able to release it quick would have been ideal.
It seems to look bigger in Gozney videos. I like the idea of the mantle but I’m still waiting for my stand. To bad they didn’t make it with a quick release lock. Might be tempted to play without the bolts just to have quick on off, as long as that would be stable because you don’t want it dumping a hot cast iron pan.
Yeah, it does seem to be a decent snug fit without the bolts. Depends if you want to risk it I guess.
Amazing video! great job mate!
Thanks. Appreciated. :)
@@EatandTweet just ordered your book - I'm looking forward to trying some of your recipes 👍
@@TomVoyageuk Thanks a lot, appreciated. We're forever trying to come up with new ideas. Being veggie isn't so bad. 😂
Thanks for posting. Another guy posted and isn't happy with his larger gap. Maybe it's to account for heat expansion/air gap for heat transfer/tolerance with bottom fixings/stop food getting caught.
Aesthetically it hurts those otherwise clean lines but functionally I guess it's fine. I mean, it's not like you would launch a pizza on the mantle or over the gap.
Cheers guys
No problem. :)
Thanks Joe for another informative video.
I don’t mind the gap and i also think it’s for expansion reasons, but the price and the fact you can’t quick release it puts me off. specially the price,it’s way overpriced for what it is and most of the time i wouldn’t be using it or taking advantage of it.
Thanks :) Yeah, I’ll see how much I use it.
