Hi my fuel gauge hasn't been giving off the correct reading since I serviced my car and replaced the fuel filter (1/2 tank reading on the fuel meter means tank is empty) Would this reset fix that problem and make the fuel reading accurate again? I'm just concerned one of the other gauges would stop working once I do this instrument cluster reset. Thanks
With the first test you did my temp needle hasn't moved at all is that a sign of a failing cluster? Doing test nr 2 it works. I've replaced all the sensors thermostat twice etc. It just has a weird habit of going down like 7, 10 degrees down around 70C.
Hello again. My cars temperature guage is not moving. Even with this test what you have shownin you video. I opened the cluster and moved the guage, it was stuck, after fitting every thing back i checked it again and it's still not working. I opened the cluster 3 times and moved the guage several times by hand but it does not work. Can you tell what is the problem ?
I did all the tests as mentioned and also checked all the fuses. But the gauges don't move at all! I have a stick shift E46. I put the gear in neutral. I also disconnected the positive terminal on the battery for 2 hrs and reconnected. Nothing is working! Why?

@@HowToDoitright I may not too. One because I want to buy an EV and two, can't afford the new I4. But maybe I am forgetting the years of no expenses on my Bimmer! Currently don't want to buy a used car and secondly, these repair expenses are killing me coz I can't save for an EV. Rock and a hard place :)
@@atmalla Bro, just get an used one. I have an 328 E46 sedan here in Argentina (where everything related to cars is expensive as fuck) and you can get an used cluster for 50-80 usd. It has some issues my car like Abs or i dont know.. some lights in the dash, but since I use it for drift, I dont care for that.. I just want a reliable engine
@@HowToDoitright i mean that all the lights turn on but i dont see the check engine light come on ? It may be the bulb fused in the instrumental cluster. Could it be ?
Yes. If Car was purchased used it’s possible someone altered it. Very common scam people do while selling car. Connect a code reader to see if you have any errors. Any auto part store will do it free of charge b

Yes the motor is bad. Only way you can fix is change the motor or get a new thermostat

So you will need a new cluster or need to repair this one. Many times it just dies

Ouch. Honestly I got so fed up that I sold my car. Never buying a BMW again

I did this on my 2004 bmw e46 and the check engine light did not came on. Is there a problem with it ?

My fuel and speedometer still not working 😢
But another one on eBay and replace it.
