- I thought the desolate imagery from the video for "The Longest Year" went nicely with the sound of "Sold Heart." I edited out some parts where Jonas was visibly singing, and put the music on top of the video.

Along with tracks like "Unfurl" and "Dissolving Bonds," Katatonia releases some of the most beautiful songs as extras on singles and EPs. I can see why, as they don't really fit stylistically on the preceding albums, but I'm glad the band doesn't keep these masterpieces to themselves.
Such a depressing song. Katatonia are truly masters of melancholy. I don’t know of anyone who can create such a dark and bleak atmosphere from their music. This song and Unfurl make me cry almost every time I listen to them.

I think the part leading to and including the first chorus stands as one of Katatonia's most moving moments. The lyrics, Jonas's ethereal singing, and especially the guitar work are ineffably beautiful. True art is hard to find, but here we come upon its heart-warming, still glowing ember.

Found this band when I was 16, before Google existed, first album I heard was Dance of December Souls and have been a huge fan since, now I am 32.
Now i am 55 old i say Katatonia is a dream!
And I`m 57 just found them, they are legends and their music stands strong, probably forever

Found Katatonia early Autumn, 2002 hearing Brave Murder Day.. I was 18 and she had just left me hurting, badly. A month after Brave Murder Day, I bought Last Fair Deal Gone Down in a record store in the city without even hearing it before.. two completely different styles, provided the perfectly fitting soundtrack for that period of time’s atmosphere.
