I beg to differ with you. The Cartwrights didn't get into trouble nor look for trouble nor ever try to make trouble. It's because alot of the towns people were greedy, desperate , and willing to kill and rob. The Cartwrights were hardworking, honest, taxpaying law abiding men. So let's keep the story straight. Another of times it was a case of being at the right place but the wrong time. Cartwrights helped people. They didn't hurt people unless they were provoked.
And always carry so much money, so many times they talked about how money thay have on their person loudly. Sometimes I felt like they wanted everyone around them to know .😊 Don’t get me wrong.
Don't forget the hat. In one of the episodes, Little Joe was in the desert with no water in the blazing sun half dead yet he still had his green jacket on.
@Nica LOL....an old auntie of my late Mum said the same thing. She'd wear her fur coat on a hot day and swear she wasn't hot in there - despite the red face and dripping sweat !!! :)
I just noticed something I hadn't ever noticed before. A hithching rail the Sheiff paused in front of had cribbing on it, just like you'd expect wood to display where bored horses spend any time. Thumbs up to SOMEBODY on that set. A touch of realism where it's seldom seen.
"A touch of realism where it's seldom seen." You NEVER see any horse manure on the street, when there certainly would have been - so there's that, too ! :)
@@voiceofreason7856 plus the fact you never see more than 2 horses outside the saloon and then the guy walks in and its jammed to the rafters!....look at any western and see this
Hoss also moves his cylinder over to a chambered round when the sheriff showed up, the first chamber is usually kept empty on a single action revolver due to a tendency to misfire. A lot of people might not notice these things, but the ones who do sure appreciate it.
A lot of realism is missing in these shows. The backdrop in the scene with Hoss and the sheriff is the same one that shown over and over again and what is supposed to be totally different locations. The triangle shaped mountain Peak is very recognizable. And then multiple shows throughout the seasons they use the same Virginia City street scene over and over again- the one with the Chinese man walking into the street with a basket of laundry! And they used a scene with Joe racing down the road on his Pinto and turning the same corner every time. There are numerous scenes like this that are reused in different episodes-like they think we don’t notice.
Bonanza often had thought provoking things in their series. I loved stories since a little boy and no matter what the story, there is some little nugget that we may take away from it.
The Shierf lost his way when he didn't send the telegraph to find out the truth. The town wimp knew he was wrong but he saw his chance to win the hearts 💕 💞 of the town folks so he sold his soul for the moment. The grieving Widow lost her mind and wanted anybody to pay the price in which her father did by her hands. Shows that desperation can turn the hearts and minds of good people into evil and money is the root of all evil as well as a bitter heart
The sheriff did not do his job well. He would have let an innocent man lynched. He should have sent the telegraph and verify with the banker how much money was stolen. There were so many things that was done wrong.
This episode depicts some people who exists in society today they don't care about reasoning and logic only blood even if they know someone is innocent.

The Sheriff is Briscoe Darling from the Andy Griffith show! What a funny guy! I still laugh myself silly watching those old episodes when he and his family would come to town.
And the banker in this episode also plays Mr. Jackson who takes Andy to court after Andy makes him come all the way back to Mayberry to pay a speeding ticket. I love watching old shows and seeing actors who were also in Andy Griffith! Some actors were in an episode of just about everything lol!
Sadly, this is an example of art imitating reality. This is what happens when people listen to an idiot and let emotions take over logic. People don't care who done the deed, they only care that SOMEONE is blamed and punished. They don't care about that part til it's too late.
Andrew Coble, that's why this is one of my favorite episodes with Dan Blocker at the center of it, even though he is mainly in a jail cell. It is accurate on how people react to certain situations. Lynchings did happen, and this episode, to me, depicted the buildup and the intent in a believable way. The music is also very good in here, I think. Especially in the scene where Hoss is wrongly ID'd as the killer.
