I’d love if we had a look at Equi Fernandez if we ever plan on looking into the South American market. To me he’s already the best midfielder in South America and profile wise he’d be the perfect 6/8 profile.
I think we need to buy a 6 rather than an 8. I know most of you will think theres no need for a 6 as rice, jorginho and partey are already there. But partey and jorginho are in their final year and rice cant pass the ball through the lines like either of them. Hence rice will fit in more as an 8 or a double pivot will help. Thats why a 6 is must who makes the progressive passes. Now you can argue that an 8 can drop in and help out too but that will leave us going man to man. If we need faster transitions then an extra man in front will help for our wingers as they are really fast.
Now if we dont sign a ball passing 6 we will again rely on odegaard who has to drop in the back line and do the passes for rice. Thats a complete waste of talent which odegaard has as he is meant to be right behind the striker to get the best output from him. If we dont buy one 6 then we might not win any trophies this year too.

I don't agree. Konte and casamero were the best dm of their day but they where not the greatest passers, Tony kroose and jorginio played with them to do the passes. Rice is still a good passer just not elite.

Agree, Rice can't do progressive passes, he's an amazing pure ball winning midfielder and a decent ball carrier ttough
