I have a similar build. I purchased a 76 in 2016 and installed the same grille and manual brakes. The biggest upgrade you can make is the 2nd gen FBody WS6 front sway bar and the 91-96 rear impala sway bar. Bolts right up. I did power tour in 2021 in mine. 408sbc and th350 trans in mine. I would love to have an LS and overdrive trans.
Those bars must really plant the Chevelle and keep it level in the twisties! The rear bar from the Impala fits here? LOL! Not really surprized but nice to know!
I have a black '76 malibu classic that it now has a 1994 throttle body 454 with the first gen electronic overdrive transmission (basically a 700R4 with a computer) It is using all of the original OBD computers from the '94 suburban it came out of. I wanted to do an LS swap but at that time those swaps were not widely available like they are now. The engine has a high idle issue but someone like you should be able to dial that problem and fix it. And it still is a one wheel wonder but a limited slip would be nice to put in it. Got lots of torque though, but not much on the horsepower side.
Cool Sir...Question...I have a 75 Monte with 350 & thought about maybe later doing LS 5.3 or larger V8...Would that LS type be okay with my 700R4 transmission running 3:42 gears out back ?
I wouldn't bother with the 700r4, there's just no good solution for the detent cable, and even worse for drive by wire configurations. I'd sell it and get a 4l60e for ease of install, most of all the issues that plagued the 700's have been addressed, along with the tunability of shift points and firmness though the pcm. the 3.42's are a good all around gear behind an overdrive
Was wondering what fuel pump you ran in this swap thanks!.. building a 75 6.0L in Canada wish I sceen this sooner sold a rebuilt 4L80e heard reviews wouldn’t fit so running a 1967 th400.. wanted to say awesome build
@@HsPerformanceWi thank you appreciate quick reply gonna look into that today, next I gotta do same thing rebuild rear end I need posi haha.. another quick question for you brother how’s those speed engineering headers holding up? I went to my Local performance shop and told me nothing available for headers. Found the A-body speed engineering headers on ebay just wasn’t 100% sure on quality was all thanks again.
the vin, cowl tag, and build sheet say it's a 74. all 3 of these can be seen in the link in the video description. www.kuyothbody.com/vehicles/243/1974-chevrolet-chevelle-malibu?fbclid=IwAR1jJ5pdbIqtBeGz-_AEUm6l4rP5XuqqMXwU-TgKW_NS35FJCOBChrpP59g
@HsPerformanceWi I was totally wrong. My cousin and I just researched this rear glass situation, and the Malibu had the opera style window that covers the large glass with a welded metal insert over the large glass. The interior glass was also covered up by a piece of vinyl headliner. My bad,I was out of line. Great content.
Dude I’m glad I found videos on this Chevelle because I’m actually looking at the car right now at Kuyaks classics!! I’ve called them gonna try to go look at it!! Hey josh if you see this Message just wondering how much horsepower do you estimate it has because it sounds amazing!!

Mine came with a 350 Rocket(4 bbrl) with a 400 turbo tranny.
Bouncing it off the rev limiter, nicely done, I bought a Chevelle Malibu new in 1974. Wish I still had it.🫵🏼🆒💯
This guy is so good he's probably eating a bowl of cereal in the other hand

No worries, thank for the response. @@HsPerformanceWi
How much for rear end work
That is a 1973. Look at the two rear side windows. The only year that were like that.
