I don't mind seeing other cultures doing our carvings as a matter of fact one of the most famous master carvers of Maori artwork is actually non Maori with no Maori blood in him ...but his mahi whakairo is phenomenal and beyond comprehension...I love seeing other cultures enjoying our heritage ..but they all had to go through the right procedures through all the patterns and designs and there knowledge is Soo spectacular in Maori it's called ataahua which means beautiful ..I would love to say continue to do these displays but please be considerate of traditional values and standards actually learning how to do the patterns and designs correctly
Hi Beejay Dixon, yes you are right!i already stopped carving maori related stuff. no interest anymore.Still there will be patterns in my carvings not placed right or designed right ( from Maori view) , but as an non maori artist i am free to carve whatever i like . if you have interest to tell my how to do it right ( or for other information) please feel free to send me a P.N as im always willed to learn and improve. thank you
@@rioturban9342 I would be happy to send some designs👍I love how you shaped your (tekoteko ) it’s definitely beautiful I recommend you can learn the (ungaungahi pattern) (pakati patterns), (Niho taniwha )patterns and also (kowhaiwhai patterns) which is the main patterns in which we use to carve into tiki, Manaia, etc we call this (ta moko) there is actually tutorials online to doing these patterns and what each pattern means. Also there is karakia ( prayers) that you can learn as you begin your piece which is called a (Timatanga) and a (whakamutunga) is when you complete finishing them off if you like I can help you if you need ... you definitely have beautiful talent if you can learn those patterns and prayers you would be good to go 🙏👍

Mate if you are trying to imulate maori culture, its not working. You may think that this is cool but to some who had ancestors who died for this art, that is an insult. Please just stop
In many art forms there are protocols when it comes to celtic artworks, ceramics, wood, stone, not just Maori but even ancient celtic carvings, boat builders etc ... I am going to say you are an amazing wood worker very clever, Please if you do any artworks or forms please there are customs and traditions that is very sacred...example I would never create a Traditional ancient monument unless I know that it's the right way to do Soo so that if I intend to display my beautiful talents of master pieces people would understand how much work has been put into making such projects..and going about it in the proper formation. Ohh well I want to say well done for such artistic abilities and I would love to see something written or spoken about this beautiful art piece 😊😊🙏👍Godbless❤️
