If I were Dai, I would also do the same thing. Because Shun is the one who gives me a feeling of being stuck or confused. The thing with Shun is, hes not ready for a relationship. It seems like he's been through some hard stuff and if I was to guess, I think dai liking him so much puts him off, because he doesn't trust it. Because fundamentally, he doesn't believe that he is worthy of it (perhaps due to his past cruel relationship). That's not someone who is in a place to date. He needs good friends and time to learn to love himself and therapy couldn't hurt either. Otherwise he will keep coming accross as very 'push and pull'. And Dai doesn't deserve that. So no, I don't ship them. Sometimes the happy ending is when people focus on themselves and what is good for them. Shun won't make Dai happy. And Shun won't be happy either until he recovers from past trauma and learns to trust that he is worthy of love.
Shun needs love, and security. But he's afraid of all the security and conviction that Dai gives cause he's never had that in his life. Love's scary for Shun because it is an unknown land. Family teaches you what it means to be loved, and he didn't have that, a safe haven, a place to rest his head, trust without limits, he knows none of that. So, when Dai comes with all the conviction and certainty of being in love, Shun was terrified... in that meeting at the aquarium... he saw someone without scars, someone ready to love life, and fear came like a wrecking ball... "What if I cling to this person's beautiful world and he leaves me? What will become of me...?" Some people think it's better to never have it than to have it and lose it. Shun needs to learn to trust... maybe the presence of another person will show him that Dais someone pure at heart, even though he is a player, he is enjoying life, hes not just about deceiving people... he has hooked a lot guys and girls, but that doesn't mean he's not serious. I have a lot of compassion for Shun, but I agree with you when you say that Dai doesn't deserve to be treated the way Shun is doing. And for these two... the phrase is: messy people hurt amazing people.

I didn’t understand why Shun decided to come on a dating show, either. He clearly needed some time to out process that cheating ex he had.
Give Shun a break people! He really likes Dai. He is just fearful of traveling down that same path with someone who seems to really like him just to be hurt, let down and left again! Remember too that he was abandoned as a baby! Grew up in only God knows what kind of environment! Been on his own since 18. Is 23 now with 3 failed relationships. Dai has probably experienced some things as well but he has family and his girls for love and support. Hopefully, if Dai really does care for Shun he will find a way to break down his defensive wall and they will grow in love together.

Give me a break! Everyone has faced rejection/loss on some level. If Shun is that 'tender' maybe he is not ready for a relationship. I wached complete The Boyfriend show and i know Dai and Shun never into unother person. They were into each other since first day. Shun was confused for gis feelings but then he fall harder for dai. I love them both.

I’m reading all these comments supporting Dai and Shun, but as an actual living breathing man who likes men, lowkey these new 3 episodes are giving me red flags about their relationship and I was on Shun’s side completely until I watched these.
Shun physically and emotionally pushing Dai away constantly whenever he tries to show him affection, but it’s only okay and allowed when Shun does it
(and Dai literally said it’s messing with his feelings and hurting him) is just toxic.
Especially that stuff he said about
‘I didn’t like it when he was being clingy, but I like him when he doesn’t show interest in me’
…. So you like it when he’s not dating you? What do you think he’s going to be like when you get into an actual relationship? He’s gonna be clingy and interested in you obviously, Like bro
And that lighthouse picnic, just spying on Dai hanging out with the new guy and making Gensei and Ryota do it too was so miserable, he was acting like Dai has hurt him so much or cheated on him cuz he’s talking to someone else and being happy getting to know someone else. You have done nothing but push away his feelings and you didn’t even choose him to do the sleepover date with, obviously he’s going to take that as a sign that you’re no longer interested. Especially when you tell him you just want to be friends.
Either learn to like him for who he is and actually treat him like you want to be with him (NOT in a toxic way) or just let him be happy with someone else and move on.

It's quite a red flag flashing an explicit photo to someone you just met, or even to the one you've known for a long time. Emotions are high and restrictive since they are in a "green room", but after that, the real world will really test them.
That isn’t what happened. If you go back and watch that scene you’ll see that Dai was showing Shun something else. Shun took his phone and said he could find something better (whatever it was)
Shun said he accidentally opened Dai’s Photobook on his phone and saw the nude photos - why would Dai, who’d worked so hard to win Shun over and knowing about his ex and everything, intentionally show him nude photos? That’s not Dai.
A lot of gay guys use gay dating sites and post nude photos - it’s not that unusual. Besides, that happened before he met Shun and probably he forgot about the photos.
And, if he thought Dai was such a player, keep him in the friend zone and stop trying to provoke him back.

@@cherrylhirsch7738 That's fine, but that still doesn't excuse the way he treats Dai, one day everything is going great, the next he's icing Dai out n giving him the cold shoulder, regardless of his past trauma, which I sympathize with, the point of the show is to find love, n if he's not ready for that type of commitment he needs to acknowledge that and give himself the proper room and time to heal, so that he can be ready for a relationship.
Dai has made it abundantly clear he likes shun since day 1, he basically announces it every other scene, let's also not forget he's been doing exactly what shun requested of him "Show me you care" he did that, but it was apparently "too much" n "too clingy", " let's be friends" he did that, and "I'm pissed off at Dai, I can't even look at him rn"l " I'm not jealous he's gonna choose me anyways".
