Netflix should release a director's cut! They filmed for a whole month and edited the series to be only 10 episodes. I want to see all of the ups and downs especially when it comes to Ryota. His felings about Shun just being friends to him liking Kazuto was so jarring but I think its only because we don't know how much time pass between each episode.
I disagree with you. Shun admitted himself that he had no feelings for Dai at all. It took him quite a while to actually see him in that light and give him a chance. Shun is a very handsome/attractive guy, he is used to all the attention. He doesn't need to make an effort. Dai had feelings for the very beginning.
Shun had never had opportunity to express his feelings,if you did watched the whole show,you will learn that he actually never had any opportunity to share how he really feel about life so he’s trying his hardest to express his emotions,at the same time he’s scared of being broken

I watched this series THE BOYFRIEND a week ago in one go !! Dai was so patience with Shun !! at times I thought let it go this guy (shun) has to many hang-ups !! Once I heard his story I could understand to a point !! But he needs to grow up somewhat and learn that it's not up to others to make you happy !! Yes nice to have someone love you and be there fo you, but at the end of the day you yourself are the only one to make yourself happy you can not expect others to do so !! life is hard !! I hope it works out for them and that they have a long life together !! But If Shun does not learn to stand on his own two feet and open his heart to the world and not live in the pass, but move forward and learn he also needs to give support and love to the one he shares his life with !!

Personally, I don’t think Shun is “hot”. He’s cute but his attitude was at first: he thought he was too good for Dai. Dai has a good heart and is kind. Alot happened off camera Netflix Japan didn't show. They wanted drama for the audience and that's what they gave us without showing us more of what went on behind the camera. I know for a fact that dai saw more apart from looks in shun that was why he was persisted in the pursuit till he succeeded. I'm happy they both found love in each other
