Oh my god... I'm a 48yr old Marine who's seen enough life to have a heart of stone and this woman's voice peels me open like a ripe tomato. I don't know the technicality behind the vocals but there's a tone in it that shatters my defenses and makes me think of all those I've had to say good bye to. It's truly a bitter sweet experience and I hope she continues to sing her heart out 💛

Basically this means she did a good job at covering the singer. This doesn't equal to saying "she's better" and that's what you didn't seem to understand.

I guess that depends on what you consider as a "real talent". To me, this seems too edited, has no rawness to it. Having a pitchy voice can be caused by alot of physical things that are out of your control. That doesn't mean you don't have talent. Also, having "imperfections" in your singing voice are often things that make a voice stand out more, giving you your own "unique" sound. But everyone these days are only obsessed with perfection, sadly. If you're anything but perfect, you're not good enough. No wonder that an increasing amount of the population feel that what they do will never be good enough.
And this video seems heavily edited too, i would be careful with giving this much praise to someone's talent only by judging someone's very edited content. It's wise to remember that alot of things on social media are heavily edited, and that includes singing. Until someone records their live performance, i wouldn't give that much praise to be honest. I also find this performance very bland, has no personality or genuine feeling in it like Amy Lee clearly has. That's one of the reasons why i always loved Amy Lee, her singing voice is unique and full of genuine emotion. This performance lacks that, she's just trying to sing "pretty" and that to me lacks the essence of what the song is about. There's no heart in it.

@erasedshallbehisname5100 I doubt the heavily edited aspect of this and even if it is, this sounds a lot like Amy Lee's imo, so I guess Amy Lee's talent is too fake too? Keep in mind Lee's performance has gone through a studio as well. I also think Serena here had to be still in her body in order to get the notes so clean because it's such a high bar and singing can be like that - it's all body control - so it may be you who's duped into thinking good singing has to include effortlessly moving when in fact Serena is doing a truer vocal performance? Even if I'm wrong about Serena, you have to admit that you may be bringing preconceptions to this as well.
While your message about mentally healthy views around what's good is important, what your response has amounted to is doing exactly what you advised against: tearing down this girl's performance, in your case because to you it's too perfect, which is ridiculous. What will that do to her self esteem? Do you know her? Do you know what she's going through behind the scenes? I don't. So maybe let's respect it for what we're seeing/hearing and not trying to be so critical. Maybe it's the hyper-criticism that is unhealthy, less so the presentation of perfection. We can applaud other people's successes without diminishing our own. While I get it's hard to accept that sometimes (I come from a creative background steeped in lots of personal milestone failures), I've had to learn I walk my own path, and I'm happier seeing others' value and not being so personally afflicted by it. Feeling hurt by that is competitiveness masking itself, and it's that which you were truly identifying. But competitiveness comes from an internal mode. No singular instance of perfection is responsible for that.

ой не ври. знаешь одну песню хорошо, ещё пару около того, но не таких культовых - это не значит, что группа любимая.
исполнила в тишине для тебя. сама она слышала музыку. трек примитивный для исполнения. плавная смена тональностей. одна из первых песен группы - создана быть простой, чтобы было невероятно сложно запороть. половина сильных "исполнителей" с лёгкостью повторят.
Потому что вы не слышите правильных нот, вот вам так и кажется, мажет она очень много и подтягивает почти везде.
