Old TBS=Best TBS.Can't believe the epic band they used to be.They might have all the money now,but they can't make the great music John used to write for them when he was in the band.Wish they still made music like this.
This was like, really early. This must've been one of their first concerts. The only time Adam ever had that hair, was when they recorded the "Great Romances" music video. Which was their first one. But Bike Scene was on the demo....right? This could've been even before then.
i think where you want to be is probably their best album from a musical standpoint. i love tell all your friends, i really do. but if you think about it where you want to be is just tell all your friends but recorded better. it's just as whitty and powerful
My older sis got me straylight run's 1st album('shes a violinist and went to juilliard) at 1st i was like boring but after a week of listening i began to get it and now think John's new band is great,Mind u if ur not artsy or a musician(or over 25,lol)u will have a tuff time likeing it.
The point I was trying to make was that a band not writting complicated music isn't a reason to call them terrible. Punk music in general is simple and therefore by calling Green Day terrible because of their simple music your actually calling punk terrible since again it's usually simple music. So basically what I'm saying is that if you don't have another reason for Green Day being terrible then you consider punk music in general to be terrible. It's pretty simple logic.
there is a difference between punk and what tbs does, punk is usually political and saying something where as bands like tbs talk about girls all the time.
The same show in another video, its them playing You Know How I Do, and it says in the description its from 2001, and its by this same user so check it out
I never said TBS was punk. Also I never said Green Day was punk but they are pop-punk and btw most bands nowadays that people call punk aren't actually punk they're more pop-punk like Green Day and if you want true punk you've got to go back to the 70's with stuff like the Ramones and early Clash. Basically punk music was dead from the late 70's until the 90's when Green Day really brought it back but like I said it has more pop influences now then it did back in the 70's.
yeah no in your first comment you refereed to them as punk "If you don't like punk than whatever but don't say a punk band is terrible because you don't like them."
Well you've got me convinced... Green Day made pop-punk popular in North America and brought attention to something other than grunge which was insanely popular at the time. So basically their influence on music was up there with the likes of Nirvana so to say they're terrible is to call yourself an idiot. However if you mean newer Green Day you have an argument because while it's not bad it's definitely not as good as their old stuff.
Green day definitely did not make punk rock and or pop punk music popular in North America, you couldn't be more off base. Please do actual research before spewing opinions music history
You guys are crazy. I'm guessing you guys didn't give Louder Now a chance because I didn't like it at first either but if you give it a chance you'll see that they matured. Same thing with Brand New it's what you should expect from a band I mean do you want them singing about breakups when they're 50. Still great music though.
Man, this band was fucking cool. I have no idea how they became the terrible legacy band beard bros they are today. Lost all the passion, all the conviction, and most importantly they don't even sound good because of Adam's bad habits.
First of all their not bad at their instruments they just play simple music. If you judge bands by how talented they are at playing an instrument then wtf are you doing watching a TBS video. It's called punk music it's not supposed to have complicated guitar riffs and stuff like that it's a genre built on catchy guitar riffs and mostly attitude. If you don't like punk than whatever but don't say a punk band is terrible because you don't like them. Don't ever compare GD to fall out boy in any way
I wasn't comparing them I was saying that they both matured on their third Cd. Also how can you like good bands like Tbs, Brand New, and Green Day and then like a shitty band like MCR. It doesn't make any sense to me.
I was just asking why do they suck. I mean they do have john nolan he maybe good but he pissed me off when he left tbs. I could care less about him and straylight run. I will admint the first album is still the best out of the 3. But he should have never left.
This song is honestly my favorite all time from TBS among many other lol
3:18 that scream tho
holy shit...is this from the KoC?!?!?!?! i was there!!!! this is so long ago omg...
nostalgia bomb
You think the fans knew what they were witnessing back then?
i admit i prefer them back here, but spin is one of the coolest songs i've ever heard
what a great piece of rock history! monterey peninsula bike scene.
Holy shit this is so awesome. this is such an old video.
Love TBS awesome band!!
They're still great, in spite of all of the line ups changes!!
I love Shawn's Rival Schools T-Shirt

look at how small the crowd is! this musta been in 2002 or so. either way, fav. TBS song!
love! with all my heart!
so amazing love this song, miss nolan and old tbs

love.
Golden live, love it
Yes. They had a much more passionate fan base then than they do now.
i think where you want to be is probably their best album from a musical standpoint. i love tell all your friends, i really do. but if you think about it where you want to be is just tell all your friends but recorded better. it's just as whitty and powerful
Agreed
Puzzo! do you remember the date of the Brand New / Finch / Supergiant MD show at hawks nest?
i couldnt agree more
a lot of times it seems like people dont even give the new stuff a chance
TBS Did NOT sell out, its a pure progression from their other stuff.
My older sis got me straylight run's 1st album('shes a violinist and went to juilliard) at 1st i was like boring but after a week of listening i began to get it and now think John's new band is great,Mind u if ur not artsy or a musician(or over 25,lol)u will have a tuff time likeing it.
they own
Is there anymore from this show?
where and when is this?
John Nolan
Old Line Up = Best
And was this shot at the Sahara on Long Island?
great frontman
they've grown up yes. But John was still in the band back then. TBS is still good, but with John they were awesome.

Anyone know the year on this?
‘02?
Probably early 2002. Look how short Adam's hair is, and compare it to GROT20C's music video, recorded around March 2002, same short hair.

Omg bro, Ramones are the epitamy of pop punk lol please stop. You dont know shit about punk
Nope sorry, not a KofC, on campus of Hartford Art School
Hey! i wanna steal his mic.

xD go TBS!

Green Day didn't make pop-punk popular, but they did make them popular _again_ .

i hated emo till i heard this song
I don't consider them emo.
@@scoutlikestopoop7887 what do you consider them?
@@Saturns_Return rock
@@scoutlikestopoop7887 which is technically a sub-subgenre of rock, derived from punk
@@wideblueeyedfear7520 yeah
