only person on youtube with audi q7 2017 model (video for oil change) thanks for help
Fantastic video! I spoke to a veteran master Audi mechanic when I bought my 2018 Audi Q7 3.0t at the dealer and he told me it’s imperative when I do my oil changes that Motul 5w40 is used and nothing less. I do my own oil changes and was about to use the same Castrol 5w40 euro full synth oil. He told me these cheaper (still expensive) full synthetic oils you find at Oreillys and Autozone burn up in these engines and will cause you to continue adding oil to your engines after even a few hundred miles of driving. You’ll eventually gunk up and potentially detonate your engines causing a huge plethora of problems down the road.
Please save yourself a headache and junk it
My audi has a Castrol recommendation sticker on the engine.
Nice to see that you put the splash guard back on the vehicle with "ALL" the bolts holding it up there.
You would be surprised how many don't make it back! Where do they go?! They were just in your hand! Great job!!
Nice video man! You saved me some time. Now I need to make a small 6"x 6" door for the drain plug for all future changes. No way in hell will I do all them screws for the entire engine guard, when I can get away with 4 screws maybe less if I put hinges.
Buy a vacuum Pump and forget the plug
Very good idea. I'm about to do the same.
Nice video, thank you very much for sharing. I had to chuckle when you dropped the socket, been there, done that. I have done about 12 oil changes on my 2003 Audi RS6 and it was very nice to see the oil filter location on this Audi 3.0 liter V6. On the V8's it is in a bad spot for a neat job, especially on the RS6. The underpan pan is a PAIN especially if you are laying on the ground doing it. My RS6 replacement car has an access opening for the filter and plug. Happy to see that. Just getting ready to the first DIY oil change on my '15 Q7. With your video in mind, I'm all set to do it this weekend. :)
Awesome video! Thanks for the help. Funny how Audi hides the oil filter like its a genius thing to do.
Thanks for posting this. I don't have a lift so I'll be using an oil extractor but need to make sure I don't drop the wrench.
Changing my Q7's oil in my driveway and this video is just what I needed!
Great video and description of the process.
Thank you for creating this video. It was very useful!
Like so many others said, thank you for posting this! Great help
I was looking for general procedures to have some idea of when my oil change comes. 3 things I would do differently are.
Remove the oil filler cap before draining the oil and loosen the filter so the oil from the filter drains down to the oil pan. And the last one is to remove the plug completely and install it back with a new aluminum crush washer.
Wow! Great video, very detailed and helpful. Thanks for posting it!
Thanks good info I am thinking about getting a Q7 and can do simple things like this myself
Great video bredda! Now I can try on mine.
Thank you, this was just what I needed!
You have to let it sit with engine off for a few minutes to check oil level??
Thanks for video
Great Video only concern is the oil weight used, in Australia recommended Oil weight is 5W-30 Castrol Edge LL
Its because of different climate and environment
That's manufacture recommended
Should point out 8 litres oil capacity - 7 quarts you quote are imperial qts, - 8.5 US qts. Why doesn’t the world use metric :) -
Handy video, thanks for sharing
Did the extention and socket fall through all the way down? I didn't see you retrieve it. I was thinking you were going to have to get a magnet.
Big help, thanks for posting this.
Thanks finally a worthy video
Here is another tips! Replace the oil filter while you drain the oil ! Warm up the car before you do anything !
Irie bossman going and do mine right now
Thanks for the video. Was very helpful
Thats why i cange my oil self
Yes it's the only way you gonna know you change your oil for real
Thank you for sharing the information!
this is a REALLY GOOD video! Helped a lot! thanks!
Thanks!
8l of oil daaamn lol
Aweesome video!!
Good job on the Video thank you very much.
Thank u for the video
Nice video, very detail
Thank you
Great video very helpful
Thank u very mach
Where can I find that oil? I looked everywhere and I cannot find it. (Castro Edge Professional OE 5w-40)
At Audi dealer. That’s where I got mine
Thanks, I got in contact with them and they had me bring it in and topped it off for free no charge. Only thing they said make sure u bring it in for oil change when it’s due.
Nice
Can you make same movie with 272hp 6cyl diesel?
Can you tell us what is the measure torx you use for drain plug?
Wondering the same thing, did you ever find out? I believe hearing someone say it was a T40 but im not sure tbh
Awesome video! Thanks for posting. Did you say a 36mm socket for the oil filter canister? Thanks.
Yes 36mm for the filter housing
I am not sure about the USA or anywhere else I am from the uk i have one of these and it takes 6.1 litres of oil and it’s recommend to put slightly less I reckon about 5.5 litres then run it to warming temperature then check the electronic gauge otherwise u will keep getting warning ⚠️ lights saying too much oil reduce oil in the engine
Its probably different here in the USA plus us quart is different from litres
can u help me know how to open the air filter and clean it and also the cabin filter thanks
The first oil filter changes because there is about 1lt of oil in it, now it's all gone to the sump
How many quarts did you use ??
The hell you doing, changing oil with that nice watch on?
3:56; Did he just say "Fried Banana"?
The oil looked very thick and Black. How long did it drive on this oil?
I have no idea
2018 Audi Q7 recommended engine oil was 5W40, why Audi is now recommending the 5W30 for 2019 Q7?
Possibly because the engine changed from a supercharger to a turbocharger. still odd that they are recommending that though as most turbocharged engines in the Volkswagen Audi lineup require 5W-40.
Nobody know if the car burn oil ! 😂 😂 should put them in the container and measure 📏 it !
At 5:25 can someone tell me what's the part between the two exhaust pipe (the aluminum part).
Next time, uncap the oil cap before you drain the oil pls …….
It's no wonder they want a million dollars to change your oil service at a dealership way too many screws and a damn maze craze to get things done now I know why they want to charge a fortune
First I noticed, why so many small bottles of engine oil!?
because oem engine oil only comes in small bottles. they have a uv dye for the dealer to make sure that you are using the oem engine oil and also to detect any leaks (castrol edge professional oe 5w40)
9qts lol, they knew it was going to burn 2qts before the next service, nice paper shield on the bottom and you never miss the timing chain rattle on startup. Seriously stupid car only good if bought at discount
Yes, buy an expensive car and take it for oil change to a „mechanic” who doesn’t replace drain plug crush washer, and doesn’t know what torque wrench is
Thank you! Very good video!
