I thought this at first, but the rear end of the 240 is quite visually "heavy" as it is. The spoiler lightens it, a big DTM-style diffuser might be a little too much and accentuate the rear overhang too much?
Just an FYI about using EvapoRust - it strips rust off bolts but it also removes any protective coating or plating on them (bluing, zinc plating etc.) so they'll be naked steel and rust the second they get wet. When you've got good nuts and bolts with slight surface rust like that, definitely send them off to an electroplating outfit and get them re-done in zinc. Electroplating metal hardware is a whole other rabbit hole of car restoration to go down, but it can make a huge difference to finish and longevity.
BIG YES on the diffuser, definitely something I want to run on my wagon. Loving the build, quality as always. Think I’ll have a crack at restoring my numbers now, they to have a few gouges to take care of. Did you just use a body filler for that?
