- Scientists in China have achieved a world first by cloning two monkeys. They came into this world using the same process used to clone Dolly the sheep more than 20 years ago.
They are the first primates to be created using the technique - bringing the prospect of cloned human beings ever closer.

conspiracy or not, I think it worked, in the 1990s the west would laugh at the idea of China becoming a superpower, and in 2001 the US got distracted by global terrorism, that lasted 10 or so years, and just as Obama realized that China needs to be contained, Arab spring happened, and the fall out in Iraq created ISIS, that lasted another 5 or so years. Now China is too powerful to be contained, and the US must come to terms that it needs to share the Pacific with China. hence why even under all these tension the US navy invited the Chinese navy to the 2018 RIMPAC naval exercise.

The monkeys are genetically identical as opposed to a natural birth where even twins share similarities but not geneology.

True, we know nothing about this but we still have to do it. Just like in space, we knew nothing back then yet we went there. Good things does come from this though. Human will learn more about cloning the more they clone. Like how they learn more about space the more they went there. One day, human will be able to clone organs, foods, and animals that are endangered.

Until you can have extra-uterine pregnancy it's not very useful. Even if this was legal for humans I think less than 1% of people would use it, and if you include prohibitive costs probably less than 1 in a 10000, so hardly relevant for the rest of people.
