They didn't win because of how cool the show is...or how clean or difficult it was, it was because of Bass 1's beautiful mustache!!!!
nothing could ever be more correct
Thank you Bluecoats for your amazing drummers
isn't there just one?
DDrumber12 yep
*Blue Stars
yeah thats better
No there's also a bassist from bluecoats playing bass 2. And that other snare bluecoats guy is center snare so..... where's this blue star?
Top bass is into it bigtime.
I'm really loving bass 1's faces
His name is Julio and I've been friends with him for a long time. He went to San Diego State University
xllCHAOSllx He still goes there haha
I'm friends with him too
Astonishing discipline & musicianship, with a healthy supplement of theatrics. A superb promotion for percussion! 'Well done' is a mere understatement ...
Every time I watch this it gets better and better
Solid performance guys, really good stuff! Thoroughly enjoyed it, from all sections! Really neat bass feature, never seen before. Great mallet chemistry. Drum set spot on. Good snares and tenors. Two thumbs up!!
You guys have the best drummer from the Bluecoats!!
Such a good show! Well deserved 1st!
Julian Banks You must be a battery person.
+Goo I am 😂
Awesome, that must take an insane amount of work to put together...
Their ballad is awesome!
The first bass freaking nailed the facial expressions haha.
I just love 4:10 to 4:20
2:10 for a second it looked like the tenor on the right is lowering his drums with his mind
+Morgan Gutierrez It does! Haha
Bass 1 is kinda scaring me...
Wow. That snare switching was pretty cool.
I'm a tenor and always will be. Upper battery for life. But that moonlight sonata part was absolutely amazing. Can't stop watching it.
that second base is freakishly tall
So far, this decade belongs to the Bluecoats. They even change their name and dominate in the winter! The boxed-in bass feature was, arguably, the coolest thing done on vinyl.
You do know that this organization actually has nothing to do with the Bluecoats right? Add to that the 0 championships of the Bluecoats and an overrated 2014 show, and I don't really get any of your statement.
Thank you. Many of the players also marched with the BC's this past summer. Check out the BC parking lot crowd. They are the favorite/most interesting drumline to watch. The writing/style/composition is very similar b/t these two groups. WGI always has an affiliation to DCI, naturally. Whether in direct or direct, they are helping keep chops warm and developed in the winter. Thanks!
I agree that Bluecoats are certainly a fan favorite! I personally, along with many others, find the technical skill of the Blue Devils more interesting, but I certainly understand the BC love. Sorry for sounding like such a dick in the first comment!
Dan Taylor Only two people from Bluecoats are in this line. It's mostly people from Blue Stars.
DarthYutsi actually 2 quads, 3 snares, and a bass in this line are from Coats.
The pit and drumset feature after the bass feature at 6:00 is so badass..
Anyone else notice bass 3 limping? 4 years after this came out and countless times watching and I'm just now noticing it?!
Amazing, drummers and pit to. #1
Love this
Not going to lie. I wasn't expecting to ever see Moonlight Sonata in a Wgi show
6:45 to the end is DOPE
That awesome when three of the front estimable are your marching band teachers
who knew ryan higa marched snare?
+JakeXLS are you talking about the one on the far right during the beginning?
if you mean their left and our right
then yes
lol hes my schools snare tech
i do see the resemblance though
lmao that's awesome.
and yeah. It's whenever they do the head tilt and large smile is when I see Ryan Higa.
the moonlight sonata was unreal wow
snare on the right (Kyle) is our snare tech
Does anyone know if there might be a transcription of the closer for snare
Letgo
6:23 for the snare break
The basses definitely were not the strongest in WGI this year. But still a force to reckon with. Though I give Infinity the crown for bass lines.
I'm torn between infinity and x bass
Definitely X bass.
Xtrovid Infinity's bass this year
So both Terry and Ramos were in Pulse? Never knew! :D
+DrazCraft Ramos, two other snares, one snare (2015), both tenors (one for both 2014-2015) bass 2 is a coat.
Alex Gaeckle Oh, I completely forgot the 2 other snares names, but I didn't even see Mando and TJ on tenors. Forgot about the bass 2 coat as well.
Terry, Richard, Connor, Tyler, have been in pulse since 2013 Richard might have been longer but I'm not sure
+MICHAEL SANCHEZ Actually Rich, Tyler, and I all made Pulse in 2012. Connor the year after
+Terry Li true I meant 2012 coming and going
Holy base!!!!!
that was amazing holy crap
VERY RIGHTEOUS!! :D
They were on master chef
What snare sticks do they use?
the marimba with the sun glasses (Vince) is my instructor!!
He was mine too!
+MICHAEL SANCHEZ what school?
+MCProd Covina but he stopped with us at the end of 2013
mom: why don't you go play with the new bass 1?
the new bass 1: 2:05
what shoes are they wearing?
What do indoor lines do with old uniforms?
They probably get to keep them... I have the past 2 uniforms from my high school indoor
Woah, Richard Ramos with Pulse Percussion? I never knew that!
The Irish Asian9 yezzur, he started out with Pulse Open in 2011, made Pulse in 2012 and stayed with Pulse until this year (2015) aging out as center snare.
He is a drum tech at my school
What's song? 0:02
4:30 awesome xd
Anyone know what those green mallets are that the marimbas use?
andrew markworth series
i think 232 or 231

i saw the center snare for bluecoats

Box six bass feature.
There are six bluecoats in there now
It’s the Hell’s Kitchen drumline

Little boxes, it's sung by an older lady but box six alters it
WoW

Notes.

2:27 cymbal player is over there like seizing
Bass 2 is so tall
Black Johny Depp is that you?
the guy on the smallest bass drum looks like such a creep
That's his character in the show. It's acting, he just happens to have an awesome sense of theater.
Go mone click
davi
I see Bluecoats..... interesting..lol
I want to know who tuned those basses. They sound awful!
Get over it 1st bass...its ridiculous.
why are they wearing matching outfits and being super fake? i dont get it
+Tyler Phillips is this supposed to be like winter guard or something?
+Sindhu are you being serious?
+Punishable Yeah I don't get it, why would they, My girlfriend was in color guard and it was just like his
well, it can be considered similar to winter guard, but instead its only percussion
Every show has a theme/story and they need to portray it through expressions to engage the audience. This show is very inspired by Tim Burton's style which is why they are acting the way they do, this show earned them a Gold medal in World Class finals :)
what stick they're use?
