I'm really glad you're enjoying Bleach. You can definitely feel the show getting stretched out due to the manga being ongoing plus it was made for tv back in the day so they had to fill in time as much as possible. And the fillers always came as the worst times, right when hype was coming. But when it came back, on man, was it always good. And if you think some of these fights were brutal, the manga is more so in some parts. Szayelaporro literally eats his fraccion with the majority of his body consumed and his arm being left as well as bits hanging from his mouth. Nemu gets turned into a mummy and Szayelaporro grows out from her mouth. Ichigo's arm gets snapped by Tesla. Uryu loses his arm against Ulquiorra. I can't wait for your review on the next arc and ready for TYBW, Can't Fear Your Own World novel, and if the Hell arc ever kicks off.
Great review. Something interesting about 12:19, in the manga Ulquiorra completely rips off Uryu's hand instead of just breaking it. Also if you're interested, Ulquiorra has a backstory chapter from a databook that further builds on his character (it never got an official English release, but I can link to a fan translation if you want). FWIW the filler arcs do get better. The second one is decent but the final two actually come close to canon arc quality imo. They do interrupt the original pacing though so you made the right call putting them off for now.
Sounds interesting I would love to read it, and I'm sure the fillers do get better but, the pacing is already painful as it, I'll get to the fillers one day.
This part of the arc is great. I love the battle of the scientist and the perfection speech and Kenpachi just being Kenpachi. One important thing to note about the Espada is they represent a aspect of death but I'm going to skip to the main one ulquirora and his aspect. Ulquirora aspect of death is nihilism and nothingness. He does not believe in the metaphysical aspects like the heart since in his view if he can't see well it doesn't exists. When he meets Orihime its basically just a job for him but her beliefs in her friends, emotions, and heart actually start getting to ulquirora since it is not a concept he can fully understand and from his perspective humans and other beings suffer because they hang on to such insignificant concepts to him. He also contrast well with ichigo who ulquirora more and more takes a interest in him for his sheer determination. Both ichigo and Orihime are two beings in his mind he feels he must break in order to maintain his beliefs are the right ones. Ulquirora out of any the Espada is the most hollow inside representing what it truly means to be a hollow. Though ironically enough his role with ichigo starts to reverse in the end. In the beginning stage of his and ichigo fight Ichigo comments that ulquirora movements have become easier for him ichigo at first wonders why since when they first fought he couldn't read him at all and felt like he was fighting a wall but speculates either its because he's become more like a hollow or because ulquirora has become closer to a human. This actually gets a reaction out of ulquirora who increases the pressure of his fight with ichigo. Later though Ichigo becomes a full hollow his vasto lorde state where their roles become truly reverse. Ulquirora comes across as the more human and ichigo becomes a true hollow. It's one of the reasons Uryu stops ichigo from delivering the final blow since truly then ichigo would be lost. What makes ulquirora death sad to me is right when he finally understands the heart and emotions he fades away. It's really fascinating to analyze. Also ulquirora has some cold lines especially love this line after shooting a cero at ichigo. "I'm afraid no matter how closely your power resembles a arrcancar the difference in our power will always be the difference between heaven and earth". The line literally sent shills down my spine when he first said that. Another great moment is despite how out of his depth ichigo is end he refuses to drop his sword to ulquirora confusion. Ichigo upright since he first meant he knew he was stronger but no matter how times ulquirora shows how much stronger he is ichigo states he has to win and declares he will defeat him. Ichigo is such a enjoyable main character and I really enjoy him.
Yep, well said ulquiorra is a great character, and I appreciate how well fleshed out he was, I tried to get to everything about the fight, but I you've summarised that final fight really well. He's my third favourite espada behind grimmjaw and stark, and the final moments of his character are some of my favourites.
I also I love all the dub actors giving their all during this arc its so good. Bleach actually has one of my favorite dubs I love it especially ichigo voice, aizen, rukia, ulquirora,Orihime, kisuke, and a lot more. Ichigo performance by Johnny is especially great during the ulquirora portion of the fight.
Yes, johnny Yong Bosch is one of my favourite voice actors in anime. Another voice actor I loved was definitely lo-lie. Like I said, she really went all in with this dub role, but other than her I think in general most if not all the voices actors do a great job
The Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra fight always feels like the one arc in the Arrancar Saga that is consistently built-up throughout, despite how the Saga kinda went off-course during it's middle act, & I'm glad that you were able to enjoy & appreciate it. I personally feel that Aizen using Orihime solely as a bait (& as means for Ichigo's power progression) reveal, followed by him immediately heading to Karakura Town with 3 Espada (+ Gin & Kaname), that you mentioned at 6:52, felt like a decision that was made abruptly by either Mr. Kubo or his editor. As such, several plot-point of this Saga (such as, what Orihime planned to do with the Hogyoku, or how the Fake Karakura fight should've took place in the winter) were completely discarded & went nowhere. I genuinely thinks that Mr. Kubo had other plans in mind for the middle portion of the Arrancar Saga, rather than immediately starting the fight between Gotei 13 & Aizen's Arrancar army. I also agree with you regarding the Byakuya vs. Zommari fight, I feel like that fight was just an excuse for Mr. Kubo to made Byakuya say "Because you aimed your blade at my pride (Rukia)", I'm also of the opinion that Zommari should've been brought to the Fake Karakura fight, instead of being left alone with the one person who is technically a bad match-up for Zommari (Byakuya). You could remove the Byakuya vs. Zommari fight completely & the Arrancar Saga would've lost no value, in my opinion.
I completely agree with zommari the man was just canon fodder, the arrancar arc twist definitely came out of nowhere and could've been a quick spur of the moment decision but I think it works and make aizen seem more cunning. Some other element like you said go nowhere but I still enjoyed arrancar arc overall
Man I forgot how much was censored in the anime. Uryu didn't get his arm broken, he litterally got it sliced off. And Ayon took a good chunk out of Matsumoto.
I mostly watch Bleach subbed. I'm not a huge fan of the dubbed version. Plus, when they say Bank...Kai subbed it hits differently for me. For me, filler arcs were fine, besides the Bount arc. That one I've skipped every time I've rewatched Bleach from the beginning. Fillers were needed due to the anime catching up with the manga
I understand that, it was definitely a different era where you couldn't really stop the anime and HAD to have filler. Also I don't have anything against sub watchers my only gripe is how they make it seem like the dub doesn't say ban...kai I watched every Canon episode of bleach and he's always said it with a pause so far.
I gathered that Nell was actually stronger. It was just interesting to note that she had a higher number, and ulquiorra never told anyone about his 2nd release, so he probably is the strongest espada, but thank your for your support on the video it is appreciated and I hope you have a wonderful day
Love listening to your reviews. I have watched the whole series 5 times and read the manga from start to finish a couple of times. So is always a joy hearing others opinions (good and bad) on a creative work that I enjoy. Thank you for not only this bleach video, but the others you have made as well. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on what is to come.
The original manga Arrancar arc is so much better than the anime adaptation of it its not even funny... To be honest the Bleach manga in general is the way to go with the series
I had a feeling with all the filler and pacing issues that the manga is the way to go but the voice acting and I know dub cringe but I love the voice acting it really brings the characters to life, very distinct but I reckon with all the scenes that are getting added to tybw that might be the way to go for that.
@@indifference115 The anime adaptation for the final arc so far is stellar, dont get me wrong. But for the rest of the series the manga outshines it for a multitude of reasons. Pacing, art quality, art direction, handling of themes, nuance, characters, list goes on. but to each their own of course. Glad your enjoying the ride regardless
Adult Nel is not actually that strong, she was nr. 3 in the previous Espada. After Nitora headshoted her, she was basically stuck in place while Nitora and Espada as a whole kept growing. Just like Nitora said the number on her back means nothing right now, he wasnt just an assshole when he said that. You might remember that Dordoni was also a number 3 in the past and Ichigo was able to 1 shot him with a mask on. Most likely at this point Adult Nel was weaker from Nitora and would have lost if the fight went on.

Yeah it's nowhere near as bad as other fillers
Music felt too loud on this one, binging the series though so loving it lol
Apologies for the music, but I'm glad your enjoying the videos
@indifference115 No worries, I had to comment only because I'm enjoying it so much, keep it up!
@firevivi96 thanks glad to hear that and I hope you continue to enjoy all future videos.
The 42 episode filler arc was actually pretty good in my opinion. I may just have garbage taste tho.
Hey man imo I hate it but it's up to you I also watch plenty of trash aah anime.
@indifference115 I just loved seeing all the funny sword spirit interactions.
I stopped watching bleach because of the poor pacing but I think its a great anime.

Okay that's fair, but I was talking about the reveal in general that was just cool and I wasn't really expecting it.
