🌼Pork Rib Noodle Soup
For the Soup
4 lb pork riblets, baby back ribs or country style pork ribs
10 cloves garlic, crushed
4 slices ginger
1 tbsp black pepper corn
3 to 4 bay leaves
3 slices licorice - amzn.to/2TC1rGd
2 to 3 tsp rock sugar
1 large leek, cleaned
4 dried shiitake mushrooms
10 cups water
5 cups chicken broth
1 cup shaoxing wine - amzn.to/2z3jAU8
1/2 cup soy sauce
For the Noodle Bowl
handful of baby bok choy, yu choy, napa cabbage, green cabbage or any of your choice of leafy greens
fresh, frozen or dried wheat noodles (cook only the portion you are going to serve immediately) - amzn.to/2pzKNYE
chopped green onions
chopped cilantro
chili oil with chili flakes

OK Seonkyoung, tried another recipe of yours.....and giirrlll, I was not disappointed! This was so easy to follow and delicious! But I parboiled the pork ribs first and used 2-3 star anise instead. Mmmmmmmm, "so goood"!(in Seonkyoung voice)

These are trying times with the on-going Coronavirus self-imposed lockdowns. What better time than trying different recipes and then storing them in the freezers. Okay... So I can’t find licorice and I’m using star anise - which I love, by the way. Allowing it to stay in the refrigerator overnight has 2 advantages: 1) fat solidified and is therefore easier to discard, and 2) what a difference to the flavoring of stocks and sauces a day makes. Thanks for sharing!

I went to my local Asian store and with so many choices I was truly lost. Most of the products were in a different language and no one seemed to help me. I may just order the wine online
Joseph Been Defyiant The Asian market can be very confusing. I try looking at the price tags. The ones at my store are in English. I also use my phone to look up what I want on Google and I look for the product on the shelves. 😊
