Thanks for the Tutorial... Looks like the only thing it saved here was having to download the OS image before burning it to the SD card. Been using Etcher for some time now and it works great. I did cringe when I saw you put the static sensitive Pi directly on the Rug. Might want to avoid that, especially now that winter is coming and static build up indoors can be an issue. If you re-mount the SD card to you Apple and add a file called "ssh" to that boot directory. Then ssh will be enabled at first boot. I use a program called Angry IP Scanner to locate the PI once its booted if you use a Network cable to connect the PI. WiFi will require you to use a monitor and keyboard
I installed Windows 11 on my pi 4. It took a few tries but it is working pretty good. I am now going to buy an 8gb Pi 4 and a SSD Case so I can make it a permanent PC.
Lots of important information to unpack. One point I would like you to consider, put the pi in a case before you start a demo. New user need to learn about ESD and protection from shorting out the board if it touches metal when powered. I have seen a number of Raspberry Pi’s damaged from careless handling. Now that the cost of a pi 8GB is now over $100 in Canada it’s going to cost you to replace it.

@@DataSlayerMedia, you keep saying "Linux sub system" like it's a thing. I think you're trying to refer to the command line interface, or, CLI. Windows has one. Has had it ever since computers existed. Do you have a Windows machine? In order to get to the command prompt, hit the Windows key, or click start, and in the search box (windows 11) type "cmd" and hit enter.
If you are on Linux, just use the disk image writer. Make the right click on an image file and select the disk image righter. More likely it will be default app, so just double click the an image file.
sad, not using the extended options in the rpi imager, to setup wifi, ssh, user password and .., use ctrl shift x on the main screen (before or during imaging )to get those options

Your video seems to be the only one I can find on RUclips where Orca comes up briefly when installing the operating system on a Raspbery Pie. Not everyone will find the audio message annoying. Blind people new to the Raspbery Pie who may need to know if a screenreader is included with the OS or rather who need screenreader access during setup won’t as it is important to someone with no vision at all like myself who is a newby.
Should've had your wpa_supplicant file ready to go as soon as you flashed the OS and had a /boot directory, and might as well created a zero byte ssh while you were there. Saves a couple of steps and WiFi AND ssh are active on first boot.
You can use the PI-Imager and press Ctrl+Shift+Z. You will get a menu to preconfigure your installation. That way you can enter your wifi credential, change hostname and password, enable SSH etc. without adding a wpa_supplicant. You can chose to save those data so the PiI-Imager will automatically adthis configuration whenever you prepare a new SD card.
Wow wish the gui pi configuration had everything the terminal version has missing the select user portion and I’m sure VNC will run a little better so that I don’t need to have it connected to a monitor to scale the image

No you do not need to install the linux virtual machine. Ping, ssh, etc. are actually installed by default since windows 10 (and ping was way pack like in XP)
I tried to use the imager and create a bootable Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye SD card, but it didn't show the display on a HDMI Monitor despite selecting the full version. Same thing worked fine with Buster.
I did everything you did, and my monitor shows nothing. The monitor works fine when connected to my laptop, but not to RBPi4. The RBPi4 looks just like yours, with the lights on. My only difference was the micro HDMI from RBPi4 goes into an adapter for regular HDMI. That adapter goes to VGA into my monitor.

I have a question, I downloaded one game for the pscx emulator section try to manually put a description on the game I saved it but when I booted up the game again all my other descriptions disappeared for my other ps1 games I try putting it all in again and save restart emulation and it's still gone, so I took the micro SD card out and put in my pc to see what was the problem I didn't see any bugs, try to fix it still no fix, now my dam options section disappeared and my ps1 section is gone but all my other section of games are still on it for my other game emulators, any advice?

Can You connect the raspberry pi by a micro USB to the laptop and power it ? Instead of plugging into the socket ? I am connecting the Raspberry pi and laptop using a LAN wire. I have the SSD card downloaded with raspberry pi OS from the website . Yet, I don’t get it working. It says the connection has timed out or the host could not connect the server. I use wifi for my laptop at home
@@DataSlayerMedia no need for WSL if you just want ping (been standard to MS forever) and SSH (ok - that's fairly new). I'd still recommend WSL but it really isn't necessary

Yes, the whole thing can be setup when you flash the OS (using advanced config) then in theory you could just power the pi and connect to it over the same network using ssh/putty etc.

Hi! Can i update Raspbian (or whatever there is to update) without using the network? Just like old installation on PC/Amiga. I don't have a router (no need because of my provider's terms of payments - any extra device adds the same monthly price). If it's critical to use the hardware network then my best choice is only to swap the Raspberry with my PC.

@@essetee I have done that and sometimes it holds the changes and sometimes it doesn't and it's either hit or miss. It doesn't matter what model I use it on. As I said I have the notes and .txt files with the setups to add into the files and also the notes (instructions) on how to set up the locals thru raspi-config. But whatever works for you. I also have created many images with all the setups based on the pi model and their capabilities and then change the I.p. address in the config files since I use .255 as my static IP address (last 3 numbers) so I can quickly change it to the correct IP in my free list, So easy it's almost effortless. Just be sure to change the user name (if you decide to) and definitely change the password.

Very useful for novices. But not sure what is really the "new" about it, this is how I have done it for quite a while now.
A lot of the top videos on the matter were not even using Raspberry Pi imager.

SSH not working after a day, yesterday it was working fine but has minor issues like after 30 mins connection is lost if not active

The re-flash wipes all stored files so how do I archive my python files for retrieval after the re-flash?

You wont need to format the card. Imager takes care of that for you no matter the size.
This video seems inaccurate. You can ping anything in DOS that you can in Linux. Having WSL is handy, but not required.
