I like Bakguo because he literally doesn't give a fuck who he's scrapping with. Got that "hands rated E for everyone" type of energy who'll even fight All Might
I absolutely hated him in the first episode or two, but after that I saw he wasn't such a simple minded jerk. He's definitely my favorite character in the show. I cosplayed as him at SakuraCon this year and plan to again next year. As a manga reader right now I'm freaking out though.
The biggest reason I like Bakugo is, this guy manages to keep a badass grin on his face even when he's in a pinch. Other than that, his fights so far look well choreographed, and his character development has been great.

The first few episodes I didn’t necessarily like him. Then my husband explained that’s because I’m too much like him. Now I can’t unsee it but I connect with him more because of it. Because I see myself in him.

Tldr. His writing is realistic. His growth is spread across the entire series take time. Also also...deku wouldn't be deku without him. For good or for worse, deku growth and relationship with Bakugou is probably the catalyst of the few final arc.

Bakugo growth is great. We all done something we wish didn't didn't or should have know better as kid that we now look back as we get older. And just asking forgiveness can be difficult, so we try to make atonement. Bakugo always seek to improve for the better, knowing he can't undo the past, but make a better future by making what we consider to be negative traits as a positive motivation to drive forward.

And he even said so in the beginning of the show how bakugo went from not being bad before he had his quirk to becoming kind of bad after he got it. So he did Understood him but he just couldn’t leave him because he always thought of him as the coolest thing ever, he admired him so much and he said so yet again in third season.
I'd say changing his behaviour (which he's been doing since Deku vs Bakugou 2) as his attonement is more important to do first before an apology. And that's something he learned from Endeavour.

I didn’t like Bakagou in season 1 but I grow to like him from Season 2 and on I like his Confidence and how he begins to Respect others later on I like his Friendship with Kirishima as he Is his Straight man who tries to keep Bakugo Chill and tries to get him get a long with people more I like how he eventually starts to respect Deku and how He agrees to Keep One for all Secret after he figures it out and I liked how Deku and Bakugo fight Nine together in the Second Movie.
Not to mention if you notice threw out the show bokugou quite entell somebody talks to him then he yells Like he keeps to himself then people cone to him most of the time He rarely ever go up to people to hang or whatever you know what I mean
How differently would Katsuki would’ve turned out if his quirk was considering threatening and he was bullied as a result? Also I’m surprised we haven’t had that many fanfics where Katsuki ends up a villain because Izuku ended up telling All Might about the bullying which end up limiting his chances into getting into U.A.

I like him because he's cute and handsome. BUT that's not it. His character development is amazing. If I were Deku, I would've BEEN punched him in the mouth by now. Anyways, he goes through a lot from what we've seen. And sometimes when he gets angry over the smallest reasons, it's pretty funny. But he is the best character. I hate him from the start but grew to love him.
I Love bakugo and todoroki's interactions that is my most favorite type of comic relief out of the rest of it. I mean for example Bakugo saying something like: "Hey! Icey-Hot! you owe me a fight but this time you actually have to try to win GOT IT?!" and then todoroki would say "Not using my fire half at the last second counts as me not trying at all?" (Sorry if this is a bad example it was the first thing i thought of)
I respect his character, his development, his quirk and his reactions. I just don't like him as a person. He's got too many traits of just 'a person I don't like'. Particularly his pretty long lasting trait of being entitled to answers and his demands being met. I know his development chips away at that, but unfortunately, I still don't like him. He's a great character, sure, but just not one for me. Especially with how easily all the things about him can be defined in both a positive sense, but just as pointedly an abusive one. I've got too many friends who've suffered from personality types like his. There are fanfic versions of him that I do like, but not the canon one. Prideful characters just don't do much for me.
If he wasn't a total jerk at the start, we wouldn't have the heartfelt apology and character change in season 6. You can't have such emotional weight if all characters are immediately loveable. Not everyone can be a Deku or a Kirishima who are EASY to love, you need the balance.
I’ve always found him so annoying no matter how much he “grew” because no matter what he still always acted exactly the same and for some reason everyone in his class admires him and discards how he acts as it’s just him, when no one should be like that. Kirishima I feel is a much better masculine personality character that could have even worked as Deku’s rival, if he was more angry and written a bit differently. Kirishima feels like a better version of Bakugo because he isn’t ridiculously annoying and doesn’t actually win at everything he does and complain even when he wins like Bakugo. He gets upset when he loses but moves on and learns from it. If he was written to be more angry I could see him being Deku’s rival, heck I could see endeavors personality working better as a rival. There are times when I actually like him when he jumps in to save people or actually shows empathy or any emotion other than rage, but then afterwards I’m reminded why I hate him so much. because he never changes and wins at everything he does then whines about it, nothing is ever good enough for him. Or maybe it’s just Bakugo’s constant yelling and the only reason he wants to become a hero is to prove that he’s strong and doesn’t actually care about other people (I like that they’re now showing him doing that more but those clips are to small and far in between). This is a very long rant, but I’m tired and loopy
I would’ve been fine if he even had the same stubborn personality as Mirko. Just some sort of redeeming quality to make him tolerable at least half the time he’s on screen
Correction everyone loves Bakugo, except me. To be honest I despise Bakugo. The main reason is because he reminds me of my child years, aka the years I wish I could forget. He gets angrier than a seven year old with autism, and I should know.
So you don’t like him cause of personal reasons which is cool tho objectively I feel like he’s one of the best characters in the series. Out of the main cast and 1-A he’s the best developed I don’t even think you can argue that especially if you are someone who read the manga.

Considering a good chunk of MHA's cast are either boring or just not developed enough. MHA is just making a lesser version of the mistake Naruto made. But I would never say anyone has to love Endeavor, just if you can acknowledge how he functions for the story, that is fine. lol Endeavor's story is pretty much essential to the story of MHA so even though it is uncomfortable for many (since many people can easily project unto the situation), it's inclusion is part of what makes MHA, well MHA. We need to see the society of MHA for the good (heroes inspiring hope like All Might) and the bad (through Endeavor's family situation) as the characters search for what it means to be a hero and how the newer generation of heroes can surpass the mistakes of the older generation.
*I don't think he is 'weak' as if the foundation of his character is bad, he just needs big progression* and need more psychology as a character of how/why he functions the way he does. He is a character that sometimes regresses with some aspects (his self-sacrificial tendencies when he gets reckless) so if he was a chart it would be more curved ups and downs and Bakugo would be more linear where it is clear to track his progress. So if Deku is propelled further after the current manga arc, then he can function in a way being more progressive as a character. People said the same thing about Shigaraki, he sucked as villain from the start and many changed their minds once they saw how he functions during the villain arc, so if Deku can get that type of focus character-wise (not just power-wise) with moral dilemma, personal introspection, and idealogical reflection to understand how/why he functions on a psychological level and how he can improve for good, that would help evolve the character. There is an obligation to show how he becomes the greatest hero in the story so I suspect it has to be more (and should be more) than punching the big bad guy by the end. lol

Bakugou character is amazing but there is a problem that nobady wants to talk about. Despite how great bakugou character, when I analize him as a HERO, i realized how pathetic he is. Many forgot that Heroes of MHA are judge by their accomplishment ( ie beating villains & saving lives) not by how strong they are. And the ranking of heroes are based on their herois accomplishment. If you compare deku and bakugou heroic accomplishment and judge whose better, its obvious that deku is better than bakugou.
Now don’t get me wrong, Bakugo is actually my fac character too, but allways felt so conflicted when i read comments from people saying that he has «a ton of character development». Now i know that everything is subjective, so i’m not saying they are wrong, but to me that just didn’t sound «right». I personally think it’s too early to say that he has had much development, after all we are only 4 seasons in, and they are not even done with the first year of school. I realized that this means the series will probably be going on for YEAAAARS which led me to the conclusion that we shouldn’t really be judgning any character too harshly yet imo. If there is one thing BNHA has shown me and done multiple times now, it’s how much of a twist the show can make of my opinions. Take the lock hero for instance, at first i thought he was an absolute ass for getting whiny about the students, but then later getting revealed the only reason he was so hard on them is because he is genuinely worried about their future and well being. Same goes for almost every character in the series that has been either introduced with a negative vibe, 100% including bakugo. Even aizawa was one of those characters i hated at first because i knew so little about him, but quickly realized he is a pure dad at heart and loves his class. My whole point when it comes to bakugo is, that I personally wouldn’t say he has had much character development, but the little amount he has had has been really well written and planned out great! It goes to show that in some cases, small amounts of great character development can be better that a lot of decent character development. Besides! Like i said this show has really been doing loads of 180’s on me so far with hateable characters suddenly turning great or lovable, i just think the writers are being really careful about their writing, in a good way. @@954Jk Ummm, I would not say all that now... that bullying Deku was 'good' for him (or Deku thanked him for that, what chapter/episode did deku say 'thank you' for bullying him?). Deku admired him DESPITE him bullying him (said in Deku vs Kacchan part 2), not because of it. He did not like the bullying aspect (he even said he didn't like that or him giving him the name Deku as meaning useless as Deku still calls himself useless at times, even recently in the current manga arc, so that was something he still internalizes). Deku did what he could to stay positive under the circumstances, but not that it was a good thing as far as the bullying goes. Saying that it was good he bullied Deku downplays Bakugo's development since Bakugo himself sees he needs to atone (ch 284) so it is something bad to acknowledge that he needs to atone from (an the author humself says he has to apologize in an interview and that Bakugo was terrible as a bully). What REALLY pushed Deku into becoming a hero was All MIght believing in him shown in the early episodes and that is what helped gave him the courage to stand up to Bakugo in the first Deku vs Kacchan part 1) Bakugo is also a big influence on Deku's hero ideals of course so that he appreciates, but not him being bullied by him. *You can defend Bakugo's development of becoming a better person without excusing his past actions.*

Thats literally Shoto, the whole Todoroki sub plot at this point has been carried hard by Endeavor. Shoto literally has fangirls for him in canon. Bakugo is by far the best character in growth and development out of the main cast and 1-A atleast.

"Bakugou worked hard" is the stupidest line I ever heard. Its shown in the anime time and time again that he was BORN with this amazing quirk. HE HAS IT ALL. Just like his mother said, he's always been praised and loved, to a point where his ego reached new hights. He told Deku to kill himself and bullied him his entire life long. And now that Izuku is having a major comback his pride is hurt. Well boohoo
That's a lie. We saw him constantly training which is why he has so many moves and ways of applying his quirk. Those things are only gained through training. we also see him practising his combat leading to Aizawas and all Might pointing out how outstanding his combat abilities are.
bakugou is never going to match Deku's power nor will he be the no1 hero but that's okay. He's fictional. For us real life Bakugou fans though we stay winning since our boy can't stop winning them popularity polls and steals the show every time he's on screen. Even Deku can't help but stan Kaachan. Beats up the League of Villains' goons in the first season, didn't look down on Uraraka, stopped Deku from following him into the Shigi's hideout, refused the League of Villains' invitation-even provoking them, 'sacrificed' himself let Deku escape, saved civilians after getting his license. I like him because he's cute and handsome. BUT that's not it. His character development is amazing. If I were Deku, I would've BEEN punched him in the mouth by now. Anyways, he goes through a lot from what we've seen. And sometimes when he gets angry over the smallest reasons, it's pretty funny. But he is the best character. I hate him from the start but grew to love him.
I Love bakugo and todoroki's interactions that is my most favorite type of comic relief out of the rest of it. I mean for example Bakugo saying something like: "Hey! Icey-Hot! you owe me a fight but this time you actually have to try to win GOT IT?!" and then todoroki would say "Not using my fire half at the last second counts as me not trying at all?" (Sorry if this is a bad example it was the first thing i thought of)
Top favourite Character
I respect his character, his development, his quirk and his reactions. I just don't like him as a person. He's got too many traits of just 'a person I don't like'. Particularly his pretty long lasting trait of being entitled to answers and his demands being met. I know his development chips away at that, but unfortunately, I still don't like him. He's a great character, sure, but just not one for me. Especially with how easily all the things about him can be defined in both a positive sense, but just as pointedly an abusive one. I've got too many friends who've suffered from personality types like his.
There are fanfic versions of him that I do like, but not the canon one. Prideful characters just don't do much for me.

If he wasn't a total jerk at the start, we wouldn't have the heartfelt apology and character change in season 6. You can't have such emotional weight if all characters are immediately loveable. Not everyone can be a Deku or a Kirishima who are EASY to love, you need the balance.
I’ve always found him so annoying no matter how much he “grew” because no matter what he still always acted exactly the same and for some reason everyone in his class admires him and discards how he acts as it’s just him, when no one should be like that. Kirishima I feel is a much better masculine personality character that could have even worked as Deku’s rival, if he was more angry and written a bit differently. Kirishima feels like a better version of Bakugo because he isn’t ridiculously annoying and doesn’t actually win at everything he does and complain even when he wins like Bakugo. He gets upset when he loses but moves on and learns from it. If he was written to be more angry I could see him being Deku’s rival, heck I could see endeavors personality working better as a rival.
There are times when I actually like him when he jumps in to save people or actually shows empathy or any emotion other than rage, but then afterwards I’m reminded why I hate him so much. because he never changes and wins at everything he does then whines about it, nothing is ever good enough for him.
Or maybe it’s just Bakugo’s constant yelling and the only reason he wants to become a hero is to prove that he’s strong and doesn’t actually care about other people (I like that they’re now showing him doing that more but those clips are to small and far in between).

Correction everyone loves Bakugo, except me. To be honest I despise Bakugo. The main reason is because he reminds me of my child years, aka the years I wish I could forget. He gets angrier than a seven year old with autism, and I should know.
So you don’t like him cause of personal reasons which is cool tho objectively I feel like he’s one of the best characters in the series. Out of the main cast and 1-A he’s the best developed I don’t even think you can argue that especially if you are someone who read the manga.

Considering a good chunk of MHA's cast are either boring or just not developed enough. MHA is just making a lesser version of the mistake Naruto made. Which is focusing on a certain number of characters, meanwhile the rest either get left in the dark or fight for scraps.
Nah, not everyone loves him - he's still a controversial character in some ways and you don't need to feel obligated to love his character as long as you can acknowledge his development as a character, that is fine, you don't have to love him. lol

To me, Endeavor is a more amazing character in that regard (as he is even more controversial) since has a great narrative to the story about how his bad actions as a father affect the story. But I would never say anyone has to love Endeavor, just if you can acknowledge how he functions for the story, that is fine. lol Endeavor's story is pretty much essential to the story of MHA so even though it is uncomfortable for many (since many people can easily project unto the situation), it's inclusion is part of what makes MHA, well MHA. We need to see the society of MHA for the good (heroes inspiring hope like All Might) and the bad (through Endeavor's family situation) as the characters search for what it means to be a hero and how the newer generation of heroes can surpass the mistakes of the older generation.

I love bakugo, I usually hate these characters, but because deku is such a weak protagonist, he stands out
*I don't think he is 'weak' as if the foundation of his character is bad, he just needs big progression* and need more psychology as a character of how/why he functions the way he does. He is a character that sometimes regresses with some aspects (his self-sacrificial tendencies when he gets reckless) so if he was a chart it would be more curved ups and downs and Bakugo would be more linear where it is clear to track his progress. So if Deku is propelled further after the current manga arc, then he can function in a way being more progressive as a character. People said the same thing about Shigaraki, he sucked as villain from the start and many changed their minds once they saw how he functions during the villain arc, so if Deku can get that type of focus character-wise (not just power-wise) with moral dilemma, personal introspection, and idealogical reflection to understand how/why he functions on a psychological level and how he can improve for good, that would help evolve the character. There is an obligation to show how he becomes the greatest hero in the story so I suspect it has to be more (and should be more) than punching the big bad guy by the end. lol

Bakugou character is amazing but there is a problem that nobady wants to talk about. Despite how great bakugou character, when I analize him as a HERO, i realized how pathetic he is.
Many forgot that Heroes of MHA are judge by their accomplishment ( ie beating villains & saving lives) not by how strong they are. And the ranking of heroes are based on their herois accomplishment. If you compare deku and bakugou heroic accomplishment and judge whose better, its obvious that deku is better than bakugou.

Now don’t get me wrong, Bakugo is actually my fac character too, but allways felt so conflicted when i read comments from people saying that he has «a ton of character development». Now i know that everything is subjective, so i’m not saying they are wrong, but to me that just didn’t sound «right». I personally think it’s too early to say that he has had much development, after all we are only 4 seasons in, and they are not even done with the first year of school. I realized that this means the series will probably be going on for YEAAAARS which led me to the conclusion that we shouldn’t really be judgning any character too harshly yet imo. If there is one thing BNHA has shown me and done multiple times now, it’s how much of a twist the show can make of my opinions. Take the lock hero for instance, at first i thought he was an absolute ass for getting whiny about the students, but then later getting revealed the only reason he was so hard on them is because he is genuinely worried about their future and well being. Same goes for almost every character in the series that has been either introduced with a negative vibe, 100% including bakugo. Even aizawa was one of those characters i hated at first because i knew so little about him, but quickly realized he is a pure dad at heart and loves his class. My whole point when it comes to bakugo is, that I personally wouldn’t say he has had much character development, but the little amount he has had has been really well written and planned out great! It goes to show that in some cases, small amounts of great character development can be better that a lot of decent character development. Besides! Like i said this show has really been doing loads of 180’s on me so far with hateable characters suddenly turning great or lovable, i just think the writers are being really careful about their writing, in a good way. But hey I am by all means no pro critique or something. Great video by the way! 😊

@@954Jk Ummm, I would not say all that now... that bullying Deku was 'good' for him (or Deku thanked him for that, what chapter/episode did deku say 'thank you' for bullying him?). Deku admired him DESPITE him bullying him (said in Deku vs Kacchan part 2), not because of it. He did not like the bullying aspect (he even said he didn't like that or him giving him the name Deku as meaning useless as Deku still calls himself useless at times, even recently in the current manga arc, so that was something he still internalizes).
Deku did what he could to stay positive under the circumstances, but not that it was a good thing as far as the bullying goes. Saying that it was good he bullied Deku downplays Bakugo's development since Bakugo himself sees he needs to atone (ch 284) so it is something bad to acknowledge that he needs to atone from (an the author humself says he has to apologize in an interview and that Bakugo was terrible as a bully). What REALLY pushed Deku into becoming a hero was All MIght believing in him shown in the early episodes and that is what helped gave him the courage to stand up to Bakugo in the first Deku vs Kacchan part 1) Bakugo is also a big influence on Deku's hero ideals of course so that he appreciates, but not him being bullied by him. *You can defend Bakugo's development of becoming a better person without excusing his past actions.*

"Bakugou worked hard" is the stupidest line I ever heard. Its shown in the anime time and time again that he was BORN with this amazing quirk. HE HAS IT ALL. Just like his mother said, he's always been praised and loved, to a point where his ego reached new hights.

That's a lie. We saw him constantly training which is why he has so many moves and ways of applying his quirk. Those things are only gained through training. we also see him practising his combat leading to Aizawas and all Might pointing out how outstanding his combat abilities are.

Point is, to say there's nothing good about Bakugo is simply retarded. Is he a douchebag and deserves to be punched? Yes. Is he a character with no redeemable qualities or is inherently bad? Hell no.
