Dude, it's time to test one of those sodium batteries
@@MrInsanitypleaThose sodium batteries suck their charge discharge curve is all over voltage wise!
Wonder how the Litime Max compares to the TM?
I always enjoy watching your teardown videos. Thank you for making such great content!
Would LOVE to see you do a “battle” for best Trolling Motor battery
Got a LiTime mini as a freebie and had some questions for the manufacturer; they were right on top of it. Gave me my answers in a quick and polite manner.
Thank you Will-count on you for everything solar/lithium/inverters etc.
AWESOME info …… Went back and watched the Large 640 ah 12 volt video …..
Keep up the great work 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for another informative video. And thank you for the information about balancing cells in the batteries. I full-time in a motorhome and only plug it into power twice a year. It’s nice to hear someone with your knowledge that I agree with in saying that everything doesn’t have to be perfect as they still work fine. I hope you are still enjoying your GT4.

Great Video as always Will 😎 That Victron multi plus looks nice
Great info as always!! thanks
More staccato videos, please I bought mine because of you! I love it
I love you still review 12v 100Ah batteries and i hope you will never stop. Looking forward for more solar related uploads
FYI, they have a $70 off coupon on their website for the Bluetooth, I just ordered 2 for my boat and got them for the same price as the trolling motor battery
Ordered as well
Of course this comes out after I already went with EPOCH set up lol you’re gonna love it…troll for 2 days straight on 50% capacity…way better than lead acids…didn’t have to trickle charge mine all winter.
@@ScottieBManit's hard to stay ahead of the game. LiTime in Canada has had a price increase on some battery models, go figure 😊🇨🇦

Cool update: How about a video about replacing the AC and DC distribution center for RV house with lithium battery ?
Most WfCO power centers are for lead acid batteries.
Our Vegas weather has been all over the place.
Looking forward to your new shop...
Good finding the inside of both batteries all ways good saving money 🎉
I spent this winter camping in Quartzsite Arizona and used two BtrPower 100AH batteries. They worked just fine and definitely got the job done. 187.99 each on Amazon right now.
Love the videos! Always so informative and unbiased.
Do you have any plans to tear down any of Monster Marine series of Lithiums?
Thanks!
If you are installing batteries in boats to go offshore, bluetooth is very useful. Being able to monitor the battery at cell level my head off any potential battery shut down in advance.
great videos, i feel a lot more confident buying a battery now that you've opened so many of them up and can actually see the build quality and guts ... can you please post a link to the chargers you are using ? thanks !
Great review.
Fantastic content bro!!!
Thanks Will ! TAKE CARE..
I bought a two pack of the100ah group 31 for my truck camper to replace the two AGM'S.
Running a 3000/6000 peak inverter.
Bought them for under $500 with a $70 coupon on Amazon.
No complaints so far
same here. After my AGM died / damaged I searched for a high-value 12v 100ah for my camper van and ended up with Li Time. Glad I did.
Great stuff as always. Question / Content suggestion - for those of us who have older portable solar generators and are looking for additional capacity, can you come up with a way where we could interface a battery such as this one to the existing system? Perhaps where you could plug this battery in the solar generator 12v or 120 AC output to charge, and have a small inverter from this to plug the main system into to charge it. I hate to throw away the older, obsolescent, but still functional system until I've worn it out, which likely won't be for 5-10 years.
Great info!
Thanks

For my simple trolling motor I have 12volt lithium battery with bluetooth app. Wouldn't be without it! There, I can always very easily see the SOC, and how long I can drive at different speeds before the battery is empty
Cool video will thanks for sharing this six stars brother
Not too worried about the Bluetooth mounting. It is squeezed in place by the foam in a sealed box. Up down back and forth are it's only directions.
Impressive, and the Bluetooth can save you from a walk in the weather if your batteries are in a separate power-shed.
New subscriber. Liking the channel this far. Which charger is used to charge in the video? 50amp x2 is credible for this unit which is in my Amazon cart atm. Thanks again
Very Nice and informative video. What wall charger do you recommend for this battery?
I like flush mount terminals like this one has! It makes cable routing and connecting so much easier compared to the to the style terminals that sit in a small recessed area of the case.
Thanks for the great videos buddy! I’m planning to buy a trolling motor battery next week, looks like I can get the Litime trolling motor battery or this one you did the review on for the same price with coupon through your link😄 was leaning towards the group 24 to use bluetooth but also saw epoch at the miami boat show a few weeks ago, bad ass batteries! FYI - I mentioned you to the guy at the epoch booth and he said he had your video playing at the show haha
I see epoch has a 50Ah trolling motor battery w/ bluetooth on sale for $300. 50Ah is fine for my application, which one would you go for ? epoch 12v 50Ah or litime Group 24 12v 100Ah ? Cheers!
Nice job Will
Li Time makes a complete line of products for solar enthusiasts.
Maybe you could do a video on their 3000w Inverter/Charger with a 460ah battery and the 40amp dc to dc charger MPPT solar charger?
I just ordered two litime trolling motor batteries look forward to trying them out on my boat lift and for trolling motor applications
How do we know these ultra cheap batteries really have grade a cells.
Also using an Ionic lithium diesel starter battery in my dump truck
Replaced three lead acid batteries
Starts the truck great charging with the stock alternator
Thanks for your channel
I really enjoy your channel. My son & I want to add a PV system to our sailboat. We are undecided about staying with 12v or into 24v someday we’d like change to an electric motor. Any advise?
I would love to see you take apart a bunch of 150Ah batteries for those of use that are limited to a group 31 space and are trying to maximize our usable battery capacity. So far I'm not finding many of the manufacturers that you even marginally recommend making them, but their size and capacity really interests me. It seems to me if a group 24 100Ah interests people a group 31 150Ah would appeal to an even larger audience...
I have 3 litime batteries. I’ve just had one fail after only one year of little use. 100 size. I have contacted their customer service and will update on how they handle warranty.
Have you heard from them yet?
What did warranty department say
Pls. let us know. Warranty service is most important, even above overall battery design/build. Cells fail randomly.
Still going back and forth. Will update
I've seen this happening to a lot of people with these and customer service is trying to ignore them
can you do a review on the new renogy 12V 200Ah Pro Deep Cycle Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery w/Bluetooth & Self-heating Function
Hey Will you need to do a 3000 watt inverter and the solar panel out put from Harbor freight 😊
Great video Will, thank you! I'm so confused about the output voltage. LiTime claims the nominal voltage is 12.8V but it should be higher. Any thoughts on that?
Two videos in a row Will your on fire!
I bought 2 of the mini(s) on around black friday... I wish they had thermal charge protection... ❤😊
It's not really a big deal if you buy a charger with thermal protection.
Thanks.
id love a video on "solar array grounding". i noticed you havent covered grounding the array in a video, just inverter grounding. im curious if grounding the inverter using ac input also grounds your array thats plugged into the inverter but im doubtful.
Hey Will..question for you please as you're the expert. I currently have a Redodo 200ah 12v and was wondering if there would be any issues if i added the same V and Ah battery in a li time battery in parallel, or should i only use the same mfg? Love your videos and knowledge. Thank you.
New here to the solar game , just trying to absorb as much as I can about lithium and lead acid batteries and solar controller and inverter I was told pure sine wave is the way to go for running my Xbox and monitors.
Awesome... I understood like 10% of what you said.
I got 2 chins batteries that have all these features and they also have the heating function. The new chins are nice! I think it's the same company because everything looks exactly the same
What are your thoughts for under the hood? I have one of these under the seat of my truck to run my solar set up, but thought maybe I should just replace the 2 under the hood as well. I have been told mixed things about putting these under the hood. You seem to know more than most of us.
Well done..........
Hi Litime mini will always run my toaster up to 122 A. I thought it supposed to cut off at 100 A why is that ? it goes through my 2000 watt pure sine inverter. Shunt says 122 amp
Hey Will -- have you tested out the LITIME 280AH battery yet ? Seriously thinking of getting it but I can't seem to find that one on your videos
Thank you Will! There aren't any lithium batteries that can be used in place of an engine starting batteries, correct? A lithium would need a kind of DC-to-DC smart charger in between the alternator, yeah? Thank you!
I’ve followed you for about five years now and my solar works great thanks to your advice. However, my epever Tracer BN series button has just started tripping out on my 12 volt circuit but it doesn’t affect my 3K inverter? I’ve got 2 x panels and 3 batteries all good. Any ideas? And thanks for all the great videos and advice.
WILL!! Try to put it in an ICE vehicle and cold start it. That would be an epic test of over current protection.
Can you do a review on eco worthy 12 volt 150ah and the 48 volt 50ah nobody has done a teardown
Nice review. A real world test of the Li-time surge in will it start a car/boat several times. The conventional wisdom has been not to use LFP for such high surge loads, but it seems that the higher capability BMS’s might be able to change this. There is still the alternator charging challenge but that is a solvable problem for those of us with boat/RVs
It does say not to use it for starting purposes in the manual.
@@motofunk1 thanks.
Just wondering if you had two in parallel, could you use them to start a small diesel. I have a 9 hp single cylinder Volvo in my boat and wanted to switch to lifepo4 batteries.
The “don’t use lithium as a starter battery” has always been about temperature. Gets too hot in most engine bays to the point where degradation is significant in short periods of time.
A123 cells, cylindrical and pouch, have been used by some car manufacturers. You don’t need something with such crazy high C rate though. Your average prismatic cell can burst 3C-5C for a few seconds.
@2:43 the 291 A inrush is not almost the max of the Inverter (300 A *rated*). That is that inverter's max for the test condition (temperature, current slew rate, etc.). 3% low. I would expect an unpublished spec of +/- 5 to even 15% for a decent quality inverter. There is a tolerance at round that 300 A, an it is the 'max' so its nice that it tripped before it.
Need your help. Using Victron equipment am I able to use two LiTime 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries with two SOK 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries? Your wiring diagrams are the best.
@WillProwse Question: I have a stack of 6 EG4 batteries BMS communicating with my growatt 12K inverter. Theoretically, shouldn’t I be able to attach more LiFePo4 batteries in parallel without them being connected to the RS485 comms? I have found a different brand of rack mount batteries at a better price but they lack any wired comms. I understand the accuracy of the SoC may be affected but the internal BMS of the batteries control the flow of current and maintains safe conditions, correct? Buying matching batteries at the same time is always ideal but building on a budget is sometimes necessary. Thanks for your time!
I bought one with the blue tooth for $309 for my RV. I agree the blue tooth could be better. I will most likely buy another more accurate shunt.
Hi, thanks for your great videos. I bought 3 LiTime batteries 12v 100A and they say I have to contact them to tell me on which side (if I want to install them on its side) I can correctly do it. Is there really a side that is not recommended to instal them and why? Thanks!
could you make a video on the best battries, best solar panels, out there 2024. thanks
Hey, Will! Any idea what happen to Li Time 400 and 460 batteries? I don't see them on Amazon or on their website. Just thought you might have info on this.
Hey Will, What's your Thought on mixing different Lithium Battery Brands and Ahs like 100 ah and a 300 ah of diff. Brands in Rv's ?
Thanks Greg
Hey Will, I developed Erythromelalgia and found your old channel, are you still dealing with it? any tips I'd appreciate it dude!
What about Eco worthy lifepo batteries?
Do you ever try them? I been running then on my home and been very happy , they run my home 95% with the rest of the solar system.
Can you wire the 460ah batteries in series for 24v?
Can this battery power a small microwave and or a coffee maker? Thanks.
Yes akb👍⚡🔋
What do you think about lithium /bms disconnect vs diesel heaters? Diesel heaters are not so happy about brutal power loss.
love youre Vidéo man :) ahah
Will can you test Eco Worthy 100ah 12v batterie :) 🎉
Which LiTime would you recommend for my Casita travel trailer? Thx
These are great! I'm looking for trolling motor battery with the max capacity that can fit into about 13" x 7". Li Time doesn't have anything between 100ah and 200ah. Any suggestions?
Can you make a video on the best way to charge a lithium battery solar setup with a car alternator?
🤷Just curious, have you ever tried aerosol component chiller to test low temp cutoff so you wouldn’t need to physically remove the temp sensor? Great channel!
Will's method gives a known temperature which is very important as charging below 0C/32F will destroy a LiFePo4 battery. Aerosol chill temps vary.
What chargers were used for the high amp charging cut off test.
For your information: it donst realy need your location but the battery is using Bluetooth low energy, that was invented for indoor positioning - this is why the permission for BLE on android is called location pernission :D
Oh, that is useful to know. I wondered about that location permission :)
My epever BN series button keeps tripping out on my 12v circuit but my 3K inverter is not affected, any ideas Will? The manual doesn’t mention when or why the button trips.
Just this morning I ran across a new to me battery. Called a - PUPVWMHB - that LOOKS to have good specs. I Have bought your recommendations before, and my fellow boat club guys watch what I get. I'm pretty careful to advise on these, so can you do a test on this, or did I miss a previous test?? Thanks, Cal
What would be best for fish finders? Is that just a deep cycle battery still?
Hi Will. I have a question please. I have one Ampertime basic battery and two Li-time mini batteries (not the low temp protection one you review), all with 100A 12V ratings. I would like to connect them in parallel, but the manufacturer advises against it due to differences in BMS and battery cells between the two types. What do you think?
do they have a battery that can be used in a boat or car hooked up to alternator or solar panel in boat to keep it charged?
Heck yeah friends! 2 videos in 2 days 🎉🎉🎉🎉
No kidding! Seems like Will is out of ideas! Maybe he can start converting cars to electric or something like that with his knowledge. That will be very interesting... Or build up off-road car including the frame from ground up... Or electric ATV or something?
@@empower88 I'd love to see him wire up a system using auto salvage parts. My battery cables came from two crashed audis at the junkyard, I took the battery cables as they are high quality and long because the battery was located in the rear of the car.
Do you have affiliate links for Canada?
Hi just a question will this battery but then the mini version LiTime 2x 12v 100ah Litium iron phosphate in series work with a mobility scooter.?
Hi Will, Wanted to ask you a question in reference to Lifepo chargers. I have an opportunity to buy a 15kw lifepo4 battery pack, I need to know what charger I need to have to balance the 3.2v 280ah batteries before putting together and I would like a charger that could maintain the whole battery pack as I will not be installing the pack for a month or so.
Is that a custom BMS or something off-the-shelf?
Can these be mounted under my camper van without heating pads? Current setup is AGM batteries.
I got one of their 51,2 volt 100ah for $1200 included taxes, i think Amazon had something wrong on their website because the coupon reduced it from ordinary price $1800 down to 1200.
What batter would work best for a boat stereo
what voltage do you charge these batteries at? is it the 14.6 normally recommended for lithium or is it more inline with a lead acid charge voltage? IE are they drop in replacement or do you need to adjust your converter voltage, etc?
And do you charge them at a fixed voltage or the converters '4(or 3) stage' mode? my converter has a switch, and a voltage adjuster so you can set your output, etc. My understanding is for LI you set it to 14.6 (or whatever your battery pack manual states) and set to fixed voltage, but it hasn't been explicitly said anywhere that I can find anyway
Quick question. After you open the batteries up.can you safety put them back into a new case? Ie. Plano boxes?
Nice review Will but on their website they post a picture of wiring this battery in Series or parallel but they reverse the definition!! How can we trust a company that makes such a mistake on their own web page!?
Qestion, what Lithium battery charger do you recommend for the Li Time 12.8 100Ah group 24 battery?
Is there any difference between the trolling and standard with Bluetooth? Are the internal cells the same? I know with AGM and flooded they are not
How is a trolling battery different than a regular battery?
Will , I have a challenge for you.can you make back pack 600 watt power unit equal to the bluetti EB3a that weights less than 20 lbs not counting the solar panels ?
