    The Church - any church - has no right to steal from the tax paying homeowners.
    The Homeowners’ rights are being suborned. They must have a right to personal safety, community respect of their property, a right to maintain the value of homes they work had for, and should be comfortable in their neighborhood environment, imho.
    It seems absurd that property owners are losing the worth of what they have worked hard to acquire and maintain , so that people who have made wrong choices can be enabled - not helped.
    If the Church wants to take in these people, and not totally disrespect the householder neighbors, it could be allowed - if the Church agrees they’ll provide a permanent structure to house homeless for a lifetime, rent free. That is the reality if no game plan to change squatters’ status.
    Make churches raise sufficient funds to prove they can afford such an undertaking, otherwise, if they persist, take away tax exempt status. If they pay tax for that property it may offset some of the City’s increase in expenses for things like additional policing, medical ER response, sanitation, etc.

    Get a junk car. Park junk car near tent. Duct tape horn on. The battery will die eventually so have another battery on charger to swap. Camera on veichle so if they smash it they commit a crime and you have video proof. Have excavation contractor on stand by to install boulder piles once gone.

    Do they call and complain as they drive to obtain: a coffee super delux to their liking and some fast food to chomp down on and fill their trousers?

    • @MiroVizen
      @MiroVizen 19 дней назад

      They have a right to complain, they pay taxes to live in a clean and safe neighborhood. They can absolutely complain, they may not choose to be homeless but they choose to live in filth and that is unacceptable

    • @olecamohatmcgilicudy4256
      @olecamohatmcgilicudy4256 18 дней назад

      @@MiroVizen The cops in many rural counties allow landlord investor realtors to get away with serious crimes against paying tenants. They said "its not a crime" when reporting threats, deceptive housing practices, assault, abuse, torture, harm, hospitalizations, theft of $50k and to make someone homeless, crippled and broke. .. So this means the homeless surviving victims can legally do these same acts back to them and their family and kids, or anyone in the county for that matter.
      They need to learn adapt and fight back , not all will get high and die

    • @MiroVizen
      @MiroVizen 18 дней назад

      @@olecamohatmcgilicudy4256 ive read your response a few times and it is written very confusingly. Can you please clarify. All im saying is, if you are homeless and squatting on public land, you should ATLEAST clean up your trash, but that seems to be impossible for a lot of homeless, they live in their own garbage and filth. Thats not ok. When you get to the point that you are living like that its obious you cant take care of yourself and you need someone to start making decisions for you. Also, being on hard drugs should immediately disqualify you from homeless aid

    • @olecamohatmcgilicudy4256
      @olecamohatmcgilicudy4256 15 дней назад

      @@MiroVizen Try reading it again, you can do it. It is very simple and easy to understand.
      Why do you support landlords who harm, steal from and make paying tenants homeless?
      You seem to have a lot of misplaced hate and missinformation about the homeless.

  • @jollyroger35

    The city can do something. I am sure that property isn't zoned for a campground, nor was it approved for it. They could also shut it down for sanitary reasons as well. City governments will always gladly enforce regulations against law abiding property owners.
    The legal system and government laws should changed to allow these people to be forced into treatment or shelters. We used to have actual laws that permitted officials to get them off the streets, but then advocates decided even the drug addicts and mental health patients needed civil liberties, even though they are obviously unable to appreciate or understand them.

    Technically, churches are supposed to leave their doors open for the parish. That’s why they were established. To house migrants and prophets so they can gather and communicate, find work or family. The preacher and others are sposed to help.

    Instead of getting mad at the lowest of the low in our society because of their lack of money, lack of mental health care... Why not get mad at the situation for what it is? Such as the economy being so bad and mismanaged in the richest country in the world that our poor people have no choice but to live on the streets?! Don't go calling the caring Christian souls bleeding hearts for trying to help these unfortunate people. It's bad enough that so many in our society vilify the homeless, spit on them and call them names. Shame on you, you know who you are.

      Lifetime Portlander.
      Record low unemployment now.
      Higher costs, but no recession in sight.
      Portland always had Christians.
      There were harder economic times than these.
      There was never a cafeteria of drugs on the street.
      Drugs cost 💲
      There isn’t a City in America that is equipped stave off needlessly excessive numbers of adults unable to care for themselves.
      You might want to get thinking about people that put themselves in permanent disability and no longer can function or recognize reality. There do need to be facilities for those that can’t take care of themselves.
      The able need rehabilitated, but not for free. Some have some assets that could defer a part of those expenses. Some may have family or friends willing to help. There also need to be multiple safe facilities for massive participation in appropriate 12-step programs.
