Great reaction. Michael really hits you emotionally as he sings. Please do the song “Stars” from the Les Miseeables 10th anniversary concert. Philip Quast plays Inspector Javert who has been searching for a fugitive for many years. He asks for God’s help as he vows to find prisoner 24601. Jean Valjean , the protagonist, is a good man. He was arrested for stealing a loaf of bread for his starving family.

The best suggestion. What happens doesn't , make Javert a "baddie" though. It's why he is one of the best antagonist (when sung well) he is just fulling his duty, oing what he believes is right in upholding the law. The emotions Javert goes through - from Stars to Javert's Suicide - is one of the greatest character developments ever written. From being absolute in his conviction of a man to being suicidal over his error. When Phillip Quast was Javert I wanted his role, I believe that says all you need to know about the actor and the character - wanting to be the antagonist. Truly iconic.

Love love love this whole musical, the 10th Anniversary concert is one of the best. Very few guys can measure up to Michael Ball in the stage version IMO. Check out Eddie Redmayne's version from the 2012 film version, different medium so ya can't really compare it to the stage version, but just so heartwrenching...

Every song from LesMis has Hit quality. It's just perfect. 22 years ago I spent 100 € (DM) to see a musical that I had no idea about. It was one of the best choices I ever made.

Among the list of musicals were some I knew by name but wasn't interested, and others I didn't know of. Don't really know what made me choose Les Mis. Maybe just the (famous) Logo picture. Best 10 days of London Summer.
