THANK YOU. Jesus tap-dancing christ on a bike, my phone wasn't turning on, vibrating, charging, anything. The first two-button solution worked. The screen didn't turn on for me immediately and I literally just gave up after like 10-15 seconds and then, sure enough, it magically decided to start working again. Thank you for saving me multiple days of headache and repair/replacement costs. Would've felt dumb as rocks if I'd tried this after getting a new phone and it worked. Still don't know what went wrong, but thanks for this.
let me plz point out a SUPER SUPER impt thing. Upon toggling my power button repeatedly my phone contacted 911 emergency. Seems sme moto devices are preset with an emergency gesture or coding i guess. After apologizing over n over dispatch told me that im not the first to hv it happen. so just a heads up.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. It worked with the Vol Up + Power pressed. Also spot on about getting coffee, water, or w/e into the phone to cause this Black Screen. I was jogging yesterday & had one of those tight vests that holds stuff & the phone was pressed into my sweaty chest for hours.

But when I woke up the screen was black and it just wouldn't come on. I have no idea why since it was just sitting on the bedside table. But fortunately, I didn't even have to go beyond method 1.
😊😊😊 Thank you! My phone blacked out and the charge cable didn't power it up, there was no sound, after holding the up volume and power button until the phone reset, it rebooted and when the screen illuminated I had 72% power, so I'm unsure why it blacked out, again thank you for the video

My phone is fixed as well. I did all the steps except the freezer. That it's a throw back to getting info off a hard drive with disks😉 Mine didn't fix right away. I just set it down with no power for about 7 hours. Then I did the UP button and power button several times and it worked 🙌 After all this I'm still getting a new phone. For so many phones to do this, there is something wrong with the hw in this style.

I keep getting just a triangle error sign and couldn't go any further to get the reboot, etc. I got to step 5 (freezer) and it appears that my phone is starting to charge. I've had this problem a few times since getting a cracked screen repaired (the connection seemed bad at the time, so I presumed the black screen was from jostling with a loose internal connection, because it only happened when swapping cases (and pretty much every time). It's only been for under a minute, until today when even restarting didn't fix it (but it did the second time). I'm grateful for this video and have some hope if it happens again. Anyone happen to know if the loose internal connection thing is even a possibility?

Id bought a new charging board for a month old Moto G Stylus Xlt2115dl after having charging issues think I had something got rubber cement in but I accidentally broke the oh port tab. i purchased a new port board and easy install ... Plugged it in nothing , not even the charging/⚡ on screen. Felt defeated until i found yer video...... charging away . Genuinely appreciate the video man, 1st step got me up n going, cheers
When I manually increase the screen brightness, the screen goes black. It gives me an image if I slide the brightness down again (I don't remove my finger from the correct spot). You think it's related to the video? I want to have my brightness up like any other phone!
Why doesn't Anyone show how to force shut down the phone and not restart the phone. My son's phone screen shattered and is completely black but apparently it's actually still powered on. His 6 am alarm keeps blaring and there's no way to shut it off or power the phone off.
I followed all steps plus took a hairdryer to the back of it. Hairdryer did the trick. Hopefully it's helps be careful to distribute the heat evenly about 6inches abov3 the phone.
Motorola deserves a special place in hell for this phone. This is my second one and I've had it maybe 4 months max. Still fighting it but this may be the worse phone I've ever owned

Having the same issue? Black screen, no response from buttons. No red bl8nking light, but there is a white blinking light only when the charging chord is plugged in.
I'm having the same issue.. my phone was working perfectly. I put it on the charger then it went into reboot mode & flashed 20 times. I unplugged it from the charger and it turned to a black screen. I put the phone back on the charger and I get a white blinking light with a black screen. I've tried all these methods and still have no luck. Ps.. it's February 17th I got the phone on Christmas.

Great, all I had to do was go to my desk, turn my computer on, look up a video on why my phone won't turn back on after restarting, and it fixed itself!
If I've been on hold, I cannot get the phone to wake up to press a number. Really messes up trying to get through menu options. I have had times where I can't get the phone to wake up too, so definitely good to know some of these tricks.

Everything except the feezer trick was used on a brand new Moto Stylus 5G 2023 and the only thing that briefly got the screen to turn on was when a Windows PC USB connecting was in play. The logo appeared but with scree glitches, vanishes shortly after that, cannot do set up or even get to bootloader screen. Back to Costco it goes.
My phone just did it again today. Problem is it was already at 98% battery. The two buttons do work, Thanks beats taking the sim card out and putting it in my old phone.
I tried both of them, no none of them work after that.. my only options everytime is just "Restart" "Power off" and "Lockdown" and its just the same thing..

The first one worked for me! Thank you! I was holding them down for about 5 seconds, needed to hold them down for about 15 seconds.
