Excellent storytelling. The way your videos tell your story is amazing. I'm awestruck by your editing. Wow!
I´M YOUR NEW BIG FAN. I´M A BRAZILIAN AND I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL. THAKS FOR MAKING MY LIFE HAPPIER WITH YOUR VIDEOS. I´M LEARNING ENGLISH WITH YOU. HUG. I LOVE YOU❤
French travelers are very kind people. Not sure how they are in Paris. When I travel solo, the French are always inviting me to join them in their table.
I’m french, I travel a lot, and I have and would definitely enjoy eating with my fellow travellers from every corner of the world.
Sharing a meal and talking about the world is Life.
If I had to represent my culture in a few words, I’d say:
Most people eat to live.
We live to eat.
Most people live to work.
We work to live.
That’s why we can spend hours doing seemingly nothing at a café or restaurant tables, alone or with some friends.
Paris can feel lonely indeed though (as any major city in the world, especially if you’re a foreigner, and don’t speak the language very well or at all).
@@GuillaumeRx I'm part French, in Louisiana, USA. We share that culture. I am not Acadien/Cajun, as the media project. Rather, many of us from the New Orleans area's families came directly from France. In my case, year 1749. We also think about the next meal as much or more than the current. No wonder French cuisine is the basis for almost all cooking schools (excepting some places in Asia, where they're just not exposed to it).
Guillaume R I have lots of amazing encounters with very good looking French guys that were just too nice. People always say French people are arrogant. I only met one and it was really bad luck. I think he is just embracing the stereotype because he had no personality. Sometimes, I go drinking with French guys. They dont like speaking in English. Its okay, i just listen and they buy me drinks.
@@eduardochavacano ahah some people in France are just really bad at speaking english indeed. Hopefully you’ll find guys that do!
@@GuillaumeRx I wonder if all teenagers in France can travel anywhere because their currency is so highly valued? Or not all of them can travel? Where does the money come from for them to travel at the age when they are still in college? Is it from rich parents? Or from work? Is working part time for teenagers enough to travel to other countries?
I really can relate to this video. I moved to Paris from Italy 10 years ago. For the first 6 years I felt isolated, I barely knew anyone and for the first years I didn’t even speak French which made everything more complicated. I felt really depressed and thought there was no way out of it as it must have been the same for everyone living in the city. About 4 years ago I realised that i was totally wrong and that in fact Paris has a lot of night life. I also realised that it was up to me to meet people and to socialise. Now I know hundreds of good people here and go out every single night with awesome friends. We’re many but we all feel like a big family and I’ve never been happier.
That's great! How/where did you met those first friends?
@@dairop3220 by going out. First I met my classmates, later they threw parties with friends of theirs and I became friends with their friends. And so on and on.
@@francescobacci8562 I'm happy that it worked for you then! Have fun!
Hi ...I would like just to be your friend if you don't mind ....just a friend
Any tips on saving up money to move to Paris, cause you’re fr living my dream but it’s SO expensive
Hey hi @Max, just a little update: a few months ago, under one of your videos, I told you that I had made the firm decision to change my life to leave Paris. To change my job, my environment, in fact, to leave my comfort zone, and that your advice had helped me a lot in my choices! Well know that today, it's been 3 months since I moved since I moved to the countryside, that I started my new job and my new life! And you know what, I'm living my best life! Thanks dude ! Thanks you for all your great advices ! And this vid's is quite sick as well !
Hey Timothée!
I'm so glad my videos could play a role in helping you make that decision. I'm happy for you! 🙌🏼
Bravo !
I love how the filmmaking captures the spirit of uncertainty and going with the flow that Max is going through. I'm really grateful to be able to experience this, even if only like a dream, through these videos. Thank you for sharing your life with us Max!

🤣🤣🤣
you're editing style is so sick and unique. really makes your videos stand out
THIS is why you watch Max Reisinger!! Paris taught you that it takes some momentum, and social capital is very powerful.
Yeah
You're really finding your style with these videos lately, incredible storytelling
The experimentation has been fun, thank you!! 😇
Hi Max I am Jeconias Joy D. Blanza. I am from Philippines.
Max Reisinger, you are lamica. Max Reisinger you are obedient. You are cool like the other guys. You are pretty Man.
Hi
😃
finding "your style"? ever seen nathaniel drew, videos are made after almost the same pattern
I’m probably a decade older than you yet this was so simple and reverent and universal it almost brought me to tears. I had a similar experience my first time in Paris that changed my perspective forever though I still feel so small and stupid for not being able to speak the language when most young people can slide into English no problem.
Young people may know English, but in some cases you know better than young people.
It's not too late even after decades of time passed... Gods love is the same yesterday and today and forever.. start reading the bible..... the word of God
If you're a decade older than him or so like me well then good news you're still young, and can still learn anything 🥰 😊
Trust when I say this, but your gap year is going to be a year to remember. You will definitely learn a lot about yourself and the present moment.
This really feels like a documentary on your life
this made me very happy and made me smile. i love seeing different people with different personalities come together sharing happiness
and love. i plan to visit sometime and hope to make connections like that.
I took a gap "year" (more like year and a half) as well after high school. I had saved up money to be able to move to a different state for a while to see what it would be like. I think you're making a good decision to explore and take some time to find yourself. Rushing into things is the main reason why people switch their majors so much or drop out of school. Even if you don't find yourself completely during this gap year, it'll be a great start!
Ever did you explore the greatest and true history book.... the Bible...... go buy it ..and start exploring the truth...... the very word of our God
Hes such an extrovert , like talking with strangers etc
And me being introvert watching it like
👁👄👁 also like even if i try to think bout such socializing it literally gives me chills
watching this made me feel like i was a part of this video. This would definitely be my dream trip to Paris. thank you so much for sharing this amazing video Max!
I too took that large step of moving away from my hometown and family and friends, to live in a city in France. It’s been a month and I still find myself lonely. You really have to decide to be open to meet people and open up to them. I relate very much to how you felt at the beginning of this video.
Hey, just curious on how you are holding up! I hope your doing better :))
Up
Yeah but you also gotta be watchful it’s crazy like I’m not gonna be friends with just anybody people are fake some people and honestly it’s hard to trust as for right now I’m happy with me ❤ but I can’t just give access to anybody ok my life like noooo
Hi Max. In 2019 I got the opportunity to leave my University in Lyon to spend a year as a grad student at UNC Chapel Hill. Very quickly I suffered from loneliness as I struggled to meet with new people. Some evening your videos appeared in my youtube feed, and I quickly understood that this US kid in a french high school was from Chapel Hill, hence the yt algorithm thing! Anyway, it took me some time but I managed to open myself to random people, especially after meeting guys from the running club.
You, on the contrary, seem to have overcome quite quickly the loneliness period of adaption, so gg on that. If you want to visit Lyon sometime in the upcoming months, send me a message :)
I’m on my gap year, trying to explore new things and decide on what I want to be. You’re a inspiration to a fellow gap year student.
Love this video:)
I also took a gap year in Paris 6 years ago now, and while it is still my favorite city in the world It was incredibly lonely at times, only when I traveled to neighboring countries was it easy to meet and connect with other people. Something about Paris is cold, but beautiful. Enjoy this time friend
Love it Max! Got a feeling its gonna be a good gap year for both of us 🤝
Three of us🙂
Hey Max! It was so great meeting you in Paris I was able to quickly stop by with my mom and say hi. Great vlog, good luck in your gap year!
Hey! Thank you for stopping by- it was great to meet you ✌️🏼

You are Lamica Max Reisinger.
This guy does therapy through his videos, it’s just crazy how you make us feel max, wow ❤️
Your journey is really amazing, and I literally appreciate the part that hang out with the local, that's a brave decision,I would never have that confidence as you do
What you told us and what you talked about with that one blonde friend of yours is so relatable to me. It was exactly the feeling I once experienced in Japan. I used to live there. And 1 day for whatever reason, I decided to just jump on a ferry and go to Osaka which was not the city where I live. I was alone and I wanted to go with someone if I could but I just didn't know who to ask I guess.
Arriving to osaka I realized there and then that I just didn't know what to do. I didn't know anyone and I was just alone which is usually something I treasure because I love solitude but I guess it made me realize that while I love solitude I hate inoccupation or what in French you say as "ennui". It was just so lonely. I was walking aimlessly in the streets trying to decide on want to do. Trying to find things to do. When my mind is not occupied in something other than thinking, it tend to re-emphasize what it was experiencing. So I ended up feeling even lonelier. I guess, solitude in a place of familiarity doesn't end up giving me loneliness because I feel most confident in venturing to things to do, and the activities that I tend to gravitate to. But being alone in a foreign environement robbed that liberty and confidence off of me. Not having anything to do is one thing, but not doing anything as well as feeling like you don't have enough confidence to change it is another.
Your video really spoke to me. It's so weird that through visuals and narration, you were able to recreate a very distinct and specific feeling that I once experienced 3 years ago in Osaka.
Any suggestions on how to make friends living in a foreign country?
Vraiment intéressant la façon dont tu te pousses à dépasser la solitude que tu peux ressentir à Paris en allant rencontrer des "inconnus" et partager tous ces moments avec eux.
So pumped for you Max! Takes a lot of courage and independence to do something like this solo. Cheers! Following the journey!
Cheers Aaron!
Thank you so much Max, you inspire me so much in so many ways
The vibe is like I'm watching a documentary vlog like .. can't explain but I like it .
You experienced the most important part of Paris : an evening with Friends on the quais de Seine ;) happy for you !
I'am from PH love your vids!!!
Thank you for taking us along on your life journey, Max. It shows me everyday that I create my own limitations and can overcome them. btw my loneliest experience was in Japan where I neither spoke nor read the language, little was written in passable English, and I could not distinguish a home from a bank from a store. Truly like being on an alien planet exploring. Have fun.
You seem to live/hang out in the western and central parts of Paris, come to the more eastern parts ! It’s much more lively :)
I live in Paris and it’s true that it’s been pretty empty since the whole Covid thing started, especially with bans when travelling between France and the US
I loved this, Max! Great job stepping outside your comfort zone and enjoying precious moments in Paris with new friends. The footage was amazing. I appreciate the way you concluded by *not* concluding... You're so wise and skilled at looking inward and forward.
The editing and especially the background music is so good! Love the vid max!
So emotional, how much I love to live this live to make a friends around the world . Good luck mate 👏🏼🤍🤍🤍🤍.
Hi Max, I love your videos : the editing, the way you just do things your own way.
I’ve been living in Paris for a year now and…as a shy person I do agree that loneliness can be felt pretty fast in Paris…haven’t really made friends…
But unlike me, you’re really GOOD at socializing with French people :)
Keep making these max...I just love ur vlogs!
My conclusion is that black bars really do make stuff look more cinematic, great video
Bingo. I had the same conclusion while editing 😅
Again, very inspiring, great visuals and the end gave me goosebumps. You're really brave tbh
So cool to met you Max ! I hope to see you again soon ✌🏻
Such a nice video, very well edited. We can really feel the atmosphere of that evening, so much that I almost felt that I was there too
It’s not easy to go to a new city and make connections when you’re by yourself but you have been quite resourceful and it turned out for the best so congrats!!
i absolutely loved this vlog and know how it feels when you’re lonely. thanks for this video, it’s definitely very inspirational 🤟🏻
Just full of creativity, joy, love, and the fact that there are many less teens making and thinking like this but this was outstanding 'chef kiss' voála 💓🥀
This editing is insane, love the storytelling!
I had wondered where you had gone. I'm so glad you followed your heart and will look forward to learning what you discover about yourself and the world we are all in together.
Discover the Bible.. and you will know what is it like to be following God instead of your own heart
Hey max, your videos always brings me a positive energy ❤️
Loved it - great editing max.

Great vid, Max! After I finish my last year of college I plan on moving to Spain from the US to work for a year. This vid helped remind me that it's going to be lonely and hard at first, but that that's a necessary part of the experience.
this video is really inspiring, looking forward to part 2 💖
your video is getting better and better, also your apartment looks so serene.
Max, thank you! I need this video.
MAX! Your videos are getting better by the upload, it really captures of the sense of being in Paris as a foreigner. as someone who's going to Paris on a solo trip next month, this makes me more excited to meet new people and just exploring. Keep up the great work bro!

In French we have the word "austère", a delicate mix between hostility and a sort of closure to the unknown.
The meaning is difficult to describe, so much so that in English you just took the word like that "austere".
Paris is very austère.
It's a beautiful city, it's a vibrant city, it's a culturally rich city.
But it is not a welcoming city and it is surely not a city that I would recommend.
In France there are a lot of very beautiful cities which deserve your attention and which will be more welcoming to you.
There will not be the Haussmann boulevard or the Eiffel Tower, but it is a country full of cultural wealth and awesome places to discover.
