Well, I would ask if this is the place for a naive melody, but I already know that it must be.

I know all albums of Talking Headsand many albums of David Byrne and one of Tom Tom Club, all albums are masterpieces, but my prefrence is for Fear Of Music, Remain in Lights and the black album of David Byrne. I hear TH since when i was 13 years old. There are a young band of brooklin NY very talented, you could try to hear them, on the album "3D Country" of "Geese" band

This song is based on a 60 Minutes interview of Matthew Landy Steen. He spent years in Weather Underground. That inspired lines like "I've changed my hair style so many times now I don't know what I look like."

Singer-guitarist David Byrne explained, "I wrote this is my loft on Seventh and Avenue A. I was thinking about (German terrorists the) Baader-Meinhof (gang), Patty Hearst, Tompkins Square. This is a song about living in (New York's) Alphabet City."

I still haven't seen any reactors actually listen to the words. It is very easy to be distracted by David and his way of dealing with his Asperger's Syndrome, and forget the deep meaning.

Lotta cocaine. In the 80's, you couldn't swing a dead cat near a music show without hitting a pile of coke. At the time, I was in the IATSE (roadies'union) and did setup on a couple of TH shows. For some reason, everyone called this one "the cocaine tour".
