Another fantastic video!!! Thank you!
I loved it when even spider man comes to God for strength to help him continue his crime fighting
I struggle with the law of Chasity, but it's been better . I will continue to go to church 🤞🏼🙏🏻🥺
@KeishaParker. I think people struggle with the Law because they don't understand it yet. (...and the Lord made hormonal urges very strong for a good reason!) It is a very serious Law for many reasons. Work on studying the reasons behind the Law of Chastity, because it's one we ALL have had to work on at some point. As you come to know the whys behind this eternal Law, it will be easier to gain a testimony of it and obey it.
@@TheTerrylwg thank you so much, and I think my struggle was dating apps . But I am continue to focus on my self and just my education in the medical field . I grew up LDS . And I have had a hard time with things but I got it now . Working with my bishop 🤞🏼
Thanks for “getting it”. It’s not a race, it’s a climb and we get up every single time we fall because just like a toddler, eventually we progress and God’s light is what propels us.
We all have our problems! Keep going and working always! Keep working !
Sometimes we become unworthy but the lord still loves us and value us...
Yay cant wait to have my mind blown next video
tea meaning the tea plant not the way to make a drink. I have tea sometimes, the plant we need to stay away from is the tea plant. Tea is also a way to take herds and plants and turn them into a drink. that type of tea is fine as long as it doesn’t have the tea plant.
I love this video. It’s really made well.
Thank you for sharing this with me.
I think that our mind blown is the dedication of the Kirkland Temple where visitors saw angels during the opening ceremony.
I loved that lessin in youth camp! So beautiful

Great video! 👍
I knew brother Parker was Spider-Man! Because I'm Doctor Strange.
😂😂😂😂
I love your videos! Thank you so much for posting them. I have a quick question about this one. So many resources tend to portray the brethren who threw their pipes into the fire as having never turned back to their old habits, but this video states the opposite. Is there a source you can point me to for clarity? Thanks again!
I think that the point of that in the video, was to show that they still had to break those habits. They didn't necissarily turn back to their old ways, it just took a while to break those addictions. And if they did just immediately stop, then they probably added that in the video to show people who struggle with addiction that it takes time to break them but they can do it.
It makes total sense that it would have taken them some time to break those habits. I’m not bothered at all by that thought. I am a little bothered if people are portraying that incorrectly when they say that these brethren never struggled if that’s not true, although I recognize that it’s completely possible with the Lord’s help. I just wondered if we had some clearer information on that point. I did find a little bit more information. This is one man’s recollection from many years later:
“President Taylor asked Brother Zebedee Coltrin if he was present when the School of the Prophets was first organized by the Prophet Joseph Smith?
“Brother Coltrin: Yes, sir.
“A number of questions and answers then passed between the brethren and Brother Coltrin, eliciting the following information. Those who gave up using tobacco eased off on licorice root, but there was not easing off on tea and coffee, these they had to give up straight off or their fellowship was jeopardized. He never saw the Prophet Joseph drink tea or coffee again until at Dixon about ten years after.” (Which may be because that’s all that was available.)
I currently don’t have a reference, and this was an insight from our scholar Tyler Griffin. I’ll ask him for a reference.

Spider man goes to church!?
The word of wisdom is further clarification of the commandment of thou shall not commit adultery. Anything you put in your body that impedes the proper function of your mind, bodily functions, emotions, psychological state, and most of all, one's spiritual state, is committing adultery. If you have altered yourself to where you cannot receive the communion and presence of the holy ghost, that is a form of adultery. Our bodies and minds are temples and the holy spirit can only reside in clean and holy places. How can a person receive truth and light with certainty when impaired with foreign substances and chemicals that cloud thoughts, alter perception and promote doubt?
Adultery comes in many forms, not just premarital sex, sex relations with others than a spouse, or as when Isreal committed spiritual adultery in the old testiment by rejecting the gospel and turning to false gods and religion and doing things contrary to the prophets. Remember, every unwise choice and action one makes falls under one or more of the 10 commandments.
The Word of Wisdom is for a Temple recommend. You will not be excommunicated for not following it. Having said that, I don't think most people do. Otherwise, all church members would be vegetarians. Do the words "famine" and "sparingly" ring a bell? The Lord wouldn't tell us he wants us to eat pounds of meat even in times of famine. That would be like commanding us to eat donuts. Clearly, he was saying only eat meat if there is nothing else available.
It really is a complex and problematic section when you want to apply it to all. I personally believe the spirit of 89 is to take good care of yourself physically to avoid the captivity of the body. I think the way most of us eat and don’t exercise today would be consider contrary more than eating too much meat. I also wonder if eating less meat is about less killing. 🤷🏼♂️, but I’m glad most of us don’t worry about smoking and drinking.
@@anonymouscommenter6829 old thread but ok. It's there in black and white. Nothing "sparingly" about a 24 Oz. Porterhouse. What you choose to consume is between you and Heavenly Father. You will not be denied a Temple recommendation if you believe (or at least confirm) that you are following the Word of Wisdom. I am more wondering why there is such an emphasis on not consuming coffee and tea. Coffee has actually been proven to be good for you. No one ever got a dui from drinking too much coffee or tea. Unless the tea was Long Island style. You do you.
Learners. Common core crap renaming. Students. They are students.
Wouldn’t mind a kinder comment after you read this: “for the preacher was no better than the hearer, neither was the teacher any better than the learner; and thus they were all equal Alma1:26.”
