      The first 1000 years the Orthodox Church was one single Church with the Catholic Church. the Catholic Church is also Orthodox . Orthodox meaning “true” . Catholic means “universal”. The Catholic Church is Truly orthodox and truly catholic.
      Unfortunately, due to misunderstandings and political questions , they split. When the Roman Empire finished, East and West were separated geographically . The Church is Universal and has no borders but the Eastern Church split from the Mother Church which is seated in Rome. It is very unfortunate because those who split, just like the protestants (starting with Luther in Germany) they always defend their split with very negative stories. May God bring us back together to be One again . He only instituted One Church.

    Once Adam and Eve sinned they were thrown out of Eden, so that they would not eat from the tree of life and live forever. Revelation tells us that in the New Jerusalem there will be 2 similar trees of life so that we live for ever. Now can someone answer...??? Since in ''Hell'' there will be no such tree of life, how will the sinners live forever so that they will be tortured? Answer is that there is no eternal torment and no Hell. God is love !!! Sinners will just not live anymore. They will stay in their graves for ever.

    • @CatholicJourneyy
      @CatholicJourneyy  2 месяца назад +3

      Thank you for your comment. The Catholic Church teaches that hell is indeed a state of eternal separation from God for those who freely choose to reject His love and mercy. The idea of eternal torment is supported by various passages in Scripture, such as Matthew 25:46, which states, "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
      God is love, and He respects our free will, allowing us to choose our eternal destiny.
      God bless!

      @@CatholicJourneyy Friend of course you refer to Matthew 25:46 ''And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.''
      But please read these verses also.
      Hebrew 5:9 ''...he became the author of ETERNAL SALVATION ;''
      +
      Hebrew 9:12 ''...having obtained ETERNAL REDEMPTION for us.''
      Eternal salvation and redemption does not mean that Christ is going to go up and down in the cross every day for ever....
      He did it once and the result is for ever.
      In the same way sinners that will be found guilty will die once and the result will be for them to stay in the grave for ever and lose the Kingdom of God.
      God IS Love friend....He doesn't punish.
