@@fringe_minority Yeah there is that but this Mavs team has put so much time and effort to create the best team around Luka and Kyrie but the injuries and turnovers are costing this team badly. I just want the Mavericks to stay healthy and this is me being a realistic fan of the Mavericks since 2010.

I remember not long time ago Luka was to be blamed for every single loss or even was blamed after every win that Dallas are losing because he is defensive liability or they are winning but because of the “ball hog” they are playing slow and there is no ball movement and opportunities to the others to shine? This went to the crescendo “No Luka, No problem”. And now when the “problem” is not present the absence of the “problem” is used again as the problem (“we are losing because the star player is injured”) which covers for the real problems starting with the awful coaching by Jason Kidd.

There are open shots for Klay but they didn't pass him the ball. Could've been a hoist. For what we know the captain can quickly release the ball.
Dallas is a lottery team without Luka and under the terrible coaching of Jason Kidd. Luka was carrying the team and Kidd in the last 3 years including dragging them to the NBA finals. But in the absence of Luka Jason Kidd’s incompetence was totally exposed. Keeping Kidd in charge is destroying the team more and more severely. Hiding the real reason for the horrible season so far behind the many injuries is pathetic. Kidd had more than deep team tonight and failed miserably against a very average team. Awful defense, bad rotations, predictable offense, bad ball movement, chaos. Dallas desperately needs a good coach.
Today Kidd throw White towel 4 minutes to go! I would fire him, solely because of that. 😡

How can you have 5 guys that can score 20+ easily and be 10+ under the entire game?
While Luka is still out they need to be running a different set...with PJ and Gaff playing like they are they need to be playing through them as well as Kyrie
@r6-AgentScorpionParkerKRider23 you can run two sets, combining Ky, Gaff, PJ, Klay, Naji, Grimes, Dinwiddie, Omax. They're running 5-7 different sets per game, players don't have time to settle in, get in the rhythm, find each other on defense, etc. By the time players get their groove, they're already back on the bench.
Simple. Winning is not the team’s culture.

Hi, Mavs fan from Taiwan, as Cuban spoken: MFFL! I think it will be the huge changes to Mavs system and it is hard to all of Mavs fans to move on, but that trade is for sure. Both AD and Christie welcome to Dallas Mavs. I hope that they can fit in and also shine bright here. Here is my opinions to share:
🏀Nico's plan
1. Get AD as PF and stretching 5, so Gafford and Lively could be the assets for another trade.
2. Get Christie if this young man can play well, it could be the backup of Grimes if he would not stay, or even use Grimes as asset and pack up with other players for trading SF, PG or SG who can be the 2nd ball handler.
🏀 New Lineup
C-Gafford/Lively/Powell/Kelley(Two-way as backup C and if one of Center was be traded or without Powell)
PF-AD/PJ/Omax(backup PF)/Edwards(two-way if Omax be traded)
SF-Naji/Grimes/Klay(Functional adjustment)/Christie(back up SF)/Edwards(two-way if someone be traded)
PG-Kyrie/Dinwiddie/Exum(backup PG)
SG-Klay/Hardy/Christie(backup SG)
1. As the priority, the mentioned players on the 1st/2nd will be the backup for each other, and from the 3rd to the last will be the option that I think probably will be 3rd backup even the assets for new trades.
2. It is my ideas to share for each position and the average height is our advantage.
3. Reference to Cavs, AD will play as PF and Naji will play as SF to be another key handler with Kyrie to deal with ball. So there at least 4 players on the court can makes 3PTS.
4. To play Five-Out, it will require AD as Center, PJ as PF, Naji as SF that PG and SG can adjust like focus on defense use Exum & Christie, focus on offense use Kyrie and Klay.
5. We need to control the time of each players, our players no longer as young as usual. So there is the minutes control to share:
Without Five-out
Center- 24 to 30 mins for each player
PF-24 to 30 mins for each player, if want the Omax growing faster, 20-25 mins for key players, rest of time for Omax.
SF-20 to 25 mins for key player like Naji/Klay/Grimes, Christie or Edwards takes rest of time.
PG-24 to 30 mins for each player, if add Exum or other people, 24-30 mins for Kyrie, then Dinwiddie and Exum share rest of time.
SG-24 to 30 mins for each player, if add Christie or other people, 24-30 mins for Klay, then Hardy and Christie share rest of time.
🏀 Strategy and System
1. Reference Cavs 4 and 5 Pick and Roll.
2. Reference Cavs 1 or 2 and 4 or 5 Pick and Roll.
3. Reference Grizzles off-ball cutting and off-ball screens.
4. Reference Wolves with height strength using Center with Lively or Gafford, PF using AD, SF using PJ, PG using Kyrie and SG using Klay, Dinwiddie or Christie.
5. Reference Warriors off-ball cutting let Klay and Kyrie be the bait to attract double-team to seek for open shots opportunities, and build up shooter's tactics and even AD or PJ after set up the screens to make the 3PTS shots.
6. Reference Nuggets to set up the tactics like Jokic for AD.
Here also shares a craziest idea of this trade.
1. New Dallas Mavs management team trade Luka to avoid the Super-Max first.
2. In this condition to make sure who will stay and who could be the asset for the further trade.
3. Using this assets to trade the POA or functional players that can be invest.
4. Until Luka has player option then get Luka back even trade some assets as exchange.
I hope that Nico is blowing up smoke and also act like fool to deal this trade. If he really can did this incredible things like novel, maybe he still can be the brilliant GM even hero to Dallas Mavs and will be recorded in NBA history.
Hi, Mavs fan from Taiwan, it is definitely the worst trade I ever heard. F rank trade that F stand for as you guys think.
The reason as below:
1. The Mavs system-
The Mavs both offense and defense strategies were starting Luka and Kyrie, last season get the PJ and Gafford to upgrade the defense, use the Pocket Defense to cover up Luka & Kyrie to let them can save more energy on offense. And trade Klay to get the 3rd scoring star-player, even can open the space and ease the offense pressure on both Luka & Kyrie. Because Luka is the key ball handler on the team, no one can replace that now even try many players like Dinwiddie, Exum, Hardy and so on.... no one can replace that.
2. Conditioning-
Of course Mavs fan knew that Luka keep gaining weight or even he was injured still represent his country to Olympic, he will definitely need to do the health control, but why not to communicate first? Even Pelicans still keep Zion and keep doing efforts to request Zion to stay healthy, why not Luka? When you match with Pelicans, you should know that how difficult to guard the star-player like Zion, and how about the Luka who can make 3PTS and assists well? That is the ridiculous reason for trading the AD who also suffer from injuries.
3. Team culture or Mavs culture-
Cuban no longer involve in management, but the relationship that he and Dirk is kind of legend of league. We also appreciate that Nico brings Gafford, PJ and Klay to Mavs, but how you trade the franchise without informing head coach first and even the player that shows the loyalty to this city and this team? Before we had Dirk as franchise to attract star-players come to Dallas, last season we had Luka and Kyrie and we won the western champion then to the final, it should be the strength that we can get star-players to join us but we trade our franchise like this.
4. Business Value-
Luka as a new generation star-player, actually that out of America that many people still not know about Dallas Mavericks, but due to Luka let many people know about Mavs, actually in Taiwan probably difficult to see Mavs fan even some merchandises, but due to Luka and Kyrie, there has more people know about Mavs. I thinks European will also same, in the beginning knew the Dallas Mavs from Dirk, now due to Luka. So it is also make no sense to trade Luka.
5. Salary Cap-
The super-max contract probably will coming, the cases like Brunson and DJJ seems like no one willing to sacrifice then get the championship, but the truth is that Brunson really has talent that he worth it, DJJ play the important role on defense, he also worth it. I will say that Luka worth it too that he is the star-player who can attract other star-players to join in, and he has huge fan base from all over the world. And we still have time to make the deal with the players we have and consider about some players re-signing or not.
So I will say that Nico you really done a F rank trade, especially did not respect the players and your team including coach team you have and even treat the star-player in this rude way, as Nick mentioned, I hope you better be right. And for the coach team it will be huge challenge to adjust whole system, lineups and strategies. Let's go Mavs 🙏🙏💪💪
PS. I hope that Luka can stay healthy then with better performance in the future and let Nico eats his words, thank you so much for your efforts to Dallas Mavericks🙏🙏🙏🙏 as the Mavs fans I really want you to stay.

The Mavericks have a leadership problem. They have a coach who doesn’t care about winning. They only average 2 players a game that play hard because winning is not a priority. Kidd coaches every game like he’s still in preseason. Luka is wasting his career with Kidd as his head coach. He’s too passive to win a championship.

@ Luka is not injury prone. Where did you get that? This is the first year he’s had an injury that’s kept him out for any period of time. He had leg injuries last year but he still broke the regular season record as the first player to have a 34/9/10 stat, and the first player to ever lead the playoffs in points, assists, rebounds, and 3pm.

I am genuinely thinking of just quitting keeping up with modern basketball and just watching Tim Duncan spurs for the rest of my life cuz this is getting ridiculous.
