Great app! I've been using it for years. I usually get flight change info from Tripit before the airlines and before the plane is at the gate I know baggage carousel info and which gate we are arriving at. Must have for frequent traveler.

Steve Dotto is the best! Travel is hardly the pleasure. Reduce stress - essential especially when you are a realtor constantly on the road. Live in Austin Tx and if you don't break free from the silo of the road you can really miss out.... Austin takes exploration on a daily basis. Ya know? As always, great video

Dear Steve, I am much older than you but I love your information videos with tips and tricks. This video again shows how old boys can make their live much easier. This app seems to be amazing. I accept your advice and give tripit a try. I can't wait until you publish you next video. Thank you for your hard work and kind regards from Cyprus. Volker Buntrock

Does anyone know the type of technology behind this? I'm curious how it imports info from emails (pdf attachments as well?).

    1) I'm going to Italy soon. Not only do I have flights (5 legs total), trains (3 pre scheduled/paid,), museum bookings (4), and lodging BUT ALSO there are optional things I'm tracking. We'll choose between them based on energy level , etc
    Does TripIt store optional things?
    2) can it have the train QR code stored, so it will be scanned?
I don't think the code is in my emails but in a PDF attached to the email

I realise it is a ‘travel’ app but is there anything about it that you have found limits it functionality such as languages, currencies or even the management of time zones? Great vid. Always..

Question about travel apps. I am going on cruise with my 7 year old grandson. Is there any app.. or does tripit do it.. that would let me share the itinerary with another person, like my grandson parents?

    • @MoonbeameSmith

    Hi Steve 👋😊,
    Were I a "Traveling Girl",
Would Much "prefer" an Agent !
I would imagine "Agents" avail themselves of Computerized Data as well.
Could "They" not do the work/organizing for You, and send the results to Your Phone ?
    Just a thought, and I guess a question ? 😏.
    Have a Fab Day Steve 🌄 😊.

How can I change my itinerary on TripIt that shows me checking into a hotel in London before I’ve taken the train to London. How can I change it around? I’ve tried canceling and sticking the event back in, thinking it would right itself, but it doesn’t. Any suggestions?

I think you've hit on a problem that I find consistently with this app. I can't figure it out. If I don't get it figured soon I'll go back to analog!

how do you link the email to the app ?

    • @mariegilbert8766
      @mariegilbert8766 5 лет назад +2

During set-up, you tell the software which email addresses you will be sending from so it recognizes them. Mine is set-up to recognize my personal, work and husband's email address. Then I simply forward any confirmations to plans@tripit.com and the app automatically places the confirmation into a pre-existing trip. If it is the first time you're forwarding a confirmation and don't have a trip set-up in the app yet, it sets one up for you. If it is confused, it puts the confirmation into a "temp" folder and alerts you that you need to check it out and fix what is incorrect. I find that flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises, theatre tickets, etc. all work pretty smoothly. If the incoming email is formatted in a whacky manner, it may confuse the app but you can always tweak it and make it work.

Marie Gilbert thank you so much for the explanation

    • @johntaylor1668

@@macaunutritionassociation Agree. Further - it does work great. If you use gmail (or I suspect Outlook) you can easily set up filters/rules by sender or subject line (e.g. AA, Hilton, Amtrak, Marriott, Uber) to forward the email to TripIt. If you set up your trip names and dates in advance in TripIt, TripIt sees the dates and puts them in the correct trip. Note that Google Trips is a disaster at this. TripIt works!

Marie Gilbert Thank you for this explanation. For some reason I just did not understand that I needed to forward the appropriate emails to do them in order for them to read him. His explanation seem to suggest city just read your emails what you gave them the email address. Thanks.

I must say ... the captcha's as a requirement to connect an email address are absolutely ridiculous. 5 strikes (tries and failed attempts) and I'm outta here. 1 lost customer for sure, and likely many more.
