Aside from that, Dark Souls is really one of the few worlds where the power to level up comes with everything else. Even the weak can become strong, if they want it bad enough.

It's already brutal enough as a Game, trying to fight any enemy or boss in real life is just going to be impossible. Also let's not forget that their are other people with their own interests.

Yes you can just never drop your shield, unlike in the game, real life sword and shield is much different than portrayed in the game, remember to keep your shield up and attack from behind it with your sword, "never let your guard down."

The thing is, if the strengthening of your body through the use of souls is allowed. Then technically, you could become as powerful as your dark souls character. If not, then you could strengthen yourself through faith and intelligence.

Hollows, giant rats, dogs, poison, toxic, curse, hostile undead lunatics, crystal golems, stone knights, silver and black knights, giants, massive demons, lava, skeletons, necromancers, the abyss, magic, dragons, dark spirits, and fall damage.
Take your pick.
I pick greed.
Irl tho the dogs would be the least of your problem. You have full control of your limbs; you don’t have to do the over-the-shoulder attacks that the animations do. Fighting sane humans would be your biggest issue, and I could see people carrying multiple weapons at any time to deal with whatever the problem is.
And also remember that humanity lost general strength as time went on, with the earliest humans wielding a great sword with each hand, as shown in the ringed city dlc. Your chances would largely rely on whether or not you were isekai’d or integrated and during which cycle you were placed there.
But aftee you defeat the final boss then tou can become the new dark lord so thats nice

I find devs saying that their game "is the dark souls of x" incredibly obnoxious. There is just no correlation with their games and dark souls whatsoever apart from it maybe a bit challenging.
I love this series so much that I have got a full sleeve tattoo based around the first game. The bosses included are Gravelord Nito and Artorias, and Sif other things like an undead hollow and knight player character sitting around the bonfire, and a firekeeper. Well worth the money.

Isn’t it about strength of will instead of times died in lore? If it’s the former, I think we would stand a chance. After all, the only thing to fear then would be fear itself and the only thing to be apprehensive about would be apprehension.

That being said, it’s possible. Especially because pain itself would be useless as a feeling, being that people would just come back. Monks, bodybuilders, athletes, anyone who is around a lot of pain would be fine.
Most people would go hollow, but probably 2.5% of western civilization would be fine, and that’s not even accounting for changes in character brought on by the tragedy. Many would make it their goal to protect their relatives and from going hollow and create societies and civilizations around it.
The first few months would be easily the worst for the world, but many if not most would be fine, especially considering the state of technology today.

The bone shattering, flaying, organs ripped apart is not something a human can endure on a repeated cycle masochist or not. The undead go through extreme pain all the time that is why all are mad in some form or fashion. Hollows just let go of their humanity and give into primal nature.

Yeah but the real problem is that there are actually huge bulky weapons in dark souls. But they don't get right the weight of normal swords in DS

So here's the interesting thing about the undead curse that was explained in the ringed city. Gwyn used the 'darksign' to seal the humanity inside humans. But with the age of fire weakening the seal also started to become weaker that caused their humanity to start leaking out, but here's the real interesting thing, humans are hollows in their natural state which causes the undead curse. It's just them reverting into their original state.

You didn’t mention the fact that some of the lands in Dark Souls exist outside the normal flow of space and time and can theoretically exist even in our modern world. Even still, the medieval nature of Dark Souls is constant and brutal, that’s not even diving into DS3 with an actual end of the world.

I like to think that every character ive quit a playthrough on is a hollow that has forgotten its purpose and wonders around the world somewhere. It would be a cool system to have those forgotten characters actually roaming around in people's games almost like nioh revenants but without having to be summoned
That's pretty much the basis of Dark Souls' lore. Every time you rage quit and give up your character goes hollow.
I thought this was a why you wouldn't survive video; not a lore video.

1. the witch of izalith, or her name, "Izalith," never once used pyromancy; she and her daughters used flame sorcery
2. Hollows can respawn lore-wise, what is correct is that they cannot become sane humans again once they hollow.
3. The hollows were never corralled in the undead asylum because there was a prophecy, they were only corralled because of the threat that a hollowed human makes to the gods and their agenda...
These are just a few misconceptions that have been delivered in this video. Nothing against this guy, he just needs some fact checking.

That’s exactly what they are. All of the knights in Gwyn’s army are Demi gods. Pretty much everyone in the world of DS save for demons, abyss creatures and humans are gods of some sort
The silver knights are the same race as thr gods themselves they just aren't the nobility of the race so they arent treated as such. Technically they aren't gods even tho they are called that they are just extremely powerful beings. in the intro "from the dark they came" implies all the gods are nothing more than a form of human that simply found the Lord souls first and elevated themselves above
