That’s so awesome Jeff, just what I’ve been waiting for. I broke my knee last Jan cos I accidentally changed from eco to GT instead of fast mode when taking off at a set of lights in the middle of the city and came off the back of it... MY FAULT entirely! just had surgery on my knee a month ago so haven’t used my bamboo GT since Jan. I’ve ordered the new remote and can’t wait to get back on it. The new features of this remote are just what I need! Thanks Jeff
You should build that thing to where you could throw it up against a brick wall or a car could drive over it. That’d be nice. The code and electronics are great. But my tv remote is more durable.
This is my favourite video! This has helped me diagnose my deck & fix most issues I’ve experienced with my GTX. LOL I’d still love to win the Camo Carbon Deck as much as I love my GTX. Thx 4 all the support Boys.
Just got my new r2 today. I must say I am very impressed. Up until now I have always had issues with sensitivity on the Evolve carbon gt remote. I would always start off in fast mode for less sensitivity then switch over to gt mode. Now the board is completely ridable in Gt mode from a standstill. This was the only downside to your boards in my opinion and now they're perfect. Nice job Evolve, keep it up.
I like the chances. Separating brake and accelerator is the right step. My biggest concern with the old remote is it's battery life and the screen itself. It would be great if you could add a function for auto switch off after a couple of minutes. It was running out of energy like this quite often. Another great feature would be to adjust the brightness of the screen, because usually it is bright af :)
Whoa...somebody's been up late working on this little device! It's packed with info...hope it drives the skateboard nicely and stays well connected for all you ESK8ers out there ;) Quite the remote you have there Jeff! Cheers, John ;)
After full wheel lock up and thrown of the board my remote went bad. Ordered a new one. Against knowing better I'll give the board one more chance (because when it does work its a whole lot of fun!), just hope it doesn't do the full wheel lock up again. Don't wanna get hurt again or be killed. Electroheads video explaining why it locks up is that the remote needs calibrating. Wish there was a way to turn of the braking all together so that I at least didn't had to worry about that...
Looks amazing guys. Thanks for updating the remote. Looks like a lot of thought and effort has gone into it. Any idea when it might be available in Australia?
I took a nasty spill on my Stoke after replacing a faulty controller. Make sure to set your wheels to "street" instead of "off-road" on your controller when pairing... My knees are still healing :) Can't wait to ride again soon
Hey Ryan, having this setting incorrect doesn't have any effect on how the board rides - it will only give you incorrect speed and distance recordings. Hope you heal well!
Nice remote, will know how good it is when I can order one. I guess the 107mm wheel setting was not available for this video since it is not displayed on the remote?
Mit meiner GTR Fernbedienung funktioniert das aber nicht oder ich mache irgendwas falsch oder weil das einfach auf Englisch ist das Video daran könnte es vielleicht auch liegen
Jeff, looks good, only question I have is to pair the remote you hold the mode one button for just 1 second; what happens if you accidentally press mode one for this length of time when riding? As the mode one is for speed mode, this could happen easily I suspect.
so im very interested and love the r2 remote, but wanted to ask you the question since you are the professional but is there any way i can wire in or modify aspects of my wowgo 3x board so that i can use this remote with the information and the deadman switch... or is it kind of universal how the meepo board was and just have to put the board into remote pairing and then pair the new r2 remote? what would i need to do to make this remote work on my belt driven wowgo? please help, god speed, -p3t3r
You would have to find what band the remote uses. Once you find what it uses you can program the board to source for that band. Then reprogram the onboard circuitry to use the commands. Basically reprogramming the whole thing. It is not a “universal” remote.
I've had a few power cuts while on the throttle (accelerating) - it's quite scary and today I had to jump off the board. What's the problem here guys I see a few people are having the same issue. It's very dangerous and I need it resolved ASAP. It's a 1 week old GTX with the R2 remote of course

Stephen McGrath Its doubles as a pair button, not an unpair button. To unpair you must turn off either the remote or the board.
