A very good phone over all. The only let down is the 4K and 1080 60fps video recording stability which is BAD. Nobody is really pointing this out to bring Samsung's attention to it and get it to fix it ASAP.
It's marketing, they disabled the EIS for 4k video so you would buy their higher end phones. It's all marketing. If you want a fast phone with everything for the same price as this a52 then go take a look at the Xiaomi mi 11 lite 5g.

Excellent review. My old phone was giving me problems while I was on a long trip. I bought an A52 5G from the T-Mobile store in Daytona. I paid $504 for it without research, hoping it was a good deal. I believe it was.
I ended up getting this phone just a few weeks ago. I do miss the physical home button sometimes, but I love the phone overall. Fast and snappy, pretty good camera, solid SoC, and just shy of being too large. I got the 4G 6GB version for €280 (about $310 at the time), pretty sweet price.
I currently have the now ancient A20 I believe, and I'm starting to have charger issues. Rather than paying for a new charge port to be installed, I'm seriously considering this A52. I'm a sold Galexy fan, so although the Google Pixel One is good I'm really wanting this. The fact that there will be further support than my phone, with growing 5G network capability that I've heard about is intriguing too. Thanks for the long term review. I think I'll stay away from the lower end of the mid range market from now on, you really cant beat these features.
I'm on my 3rd replacement A52 5g and I'm STILL having the same issues with it. Samsung were refusing to admit there is a problem with the phone (even though the guy at samsung told me that the phone was faulty) but there has just been an A52 5gs released and if you get this msg before you buy, I would go for the new release.

Now I'm being hit with an A32, let's see how that goes... Also, the guy I spoke to on the phone told me to stay away from A52's as that is the phone they get the most complaints about.

@@leeallenbeal yes the A52 5g is better and that's what I ended up getting for a sweet deal, it performs just as good as the pixel 5a, with the option of adding more storage via SD card and with the 120hz refresh rate screen it makes it a better choice than the pixel, the only down side to the A52 5g that I see so far is not having that clean android software that pixel has but that's not a deal breaker

@@ILoveGrilledCheese TBH, that's where most low and mid-range phones show their cracks the fastest and mess up other features. Even the best cameras, for instance, is pointless if the OS and apps slow down or start outright crashing.
I have one, the 120Hz option has little effect on battery life except when gaming - and even then it's not huge. The display/GPU uses adaptive sync, so it goes between 0 and 120 screen updates per second depending if something changes on the screen or not.
I'm still waiting for the 8/256 GB version that I ordered from the Philippines. Only the 6/128 GB is available here in the UK. Also, aside from the missing wireless charging, it's basically a flagship killer.

I'm considering this. Seems enough as a Spotify player. I don't game on phones, mobile games suck and I have a custom PC and console, the proper gaming platforms.
In the US this can be found on certain carriers for under $350 which makes it the best value smartphone you can find. And before someone mentions the Pixel...the 4A does not beat the A52 in any metric besides camera quality.
In my place, A52 5G price is a bit too steep as it creep closer to S20 FE price but the 4G version is insanely good value. A52 4G can be had for as low as $330 here which is bargain for what it offers and it's 256GB + 8GB RAM variant too, simply unreal value ...
Outside the US, there are far better phones at this price in America ($500). The ROG Phone 5 can be had for the same price in the UK as the A52 5G, which is £400, so much cheaper here, as Samsung would not sell it at the prices they charge their hardcore fanbase in the US. So the mid-range phones are £100 less than the normal US to UK conversion! That does suggest Samsung fans in the US are getting a raw deal, but I suppose that their restricted market where they effectively ban many of the best mid-range phones means poor value and choice for customers. I get offers from Xiaomi phones in very cheap flash deals, and my choice ATM would be the Mi 11 Lite, also at £400. At least over here, Samsung has dropped the price to be competitive, so is much better value than in N America, and it simply comes down to a subjective preference and a good value phone whatever you buy?
@@andyH_England ROG camera is terrible, the support is basically unknown (aftersale and sw updates) and the phone is big as a brick. It's not for everyone really unless everyone playing COD on their phones all the time lol. The truth is phone at this price cannot be the best of everything. Compromises must be made and the more well rounded package the phone offers, the easier it is to recommend to more peoples, hence why iPhone and some Galaxy phones are so easy to recommend. A very good phone over all. The only let down is the 4K and 1080 60fps video recording stability which is BAD. Nobody is really pointing this out to bring Samsung's attention to it and get it to fix it ASAP.

I have the a20 and I've been have charging issues as well and I just bought the a52 definitely well worth it.
I'm on my 3rd replacement A52 5g and I'm STILL having the same issues with it.

Looking at deals for at&t, they've got this phone for $10 a month for 30 months (reading the fine print you can pay it off whenever) so basically $300 for this is a steal. Been rocking my note 8 for far too long. Really wished we got the a72 5G in America but hey, this is damn close
I got the a52 5g on metro for $250

The best phone this year is s20 fe 5g, who's in his right mind will buy a52 when s20 fe is only 50$ more expensive
$50 is still a lot of money
Don't get me wrong, alternative choices exist, so pick what you love and prefer. Although I do agree Samsung A series pricing in US is overpriced compared to other regions. Cheers ...
