- Bone Thugs and Three 6 Mafia. They definitely are two of the greatest rap groups of all time. Both have extensive catalogs and have etched their legacy into music history. However, way before both, these groups saw the heights of their success they would have a feud.

Both of these groups RULED the mid 90's and early 2000's..
💯💯💯
Bone didn’t really do anything since the 90s. They popped up every few years in the 2000s
Gotta throw Wu and Outkast in there. 36 Mafia was SUPER underground in the 90's. The only reason people think they're legendary now is because the new generation stole that "bounce" and triplet formula from them.
Naw we don't thing dey is
@@TonySummerz they're legendary nonetheless
My fav Bone album is most definitely E.1999 Eternal it’s just a classic that needs no skipping. My fav Three 6 album is The End, which is their 1st nationwide album, I was in High School back in Memphis (1996) when it released!! That album put them on the map & it just goes on from there…….I’m a Memphian, & I absolutely Love BTNH, just as much as I love Three 6
#BHZ. Mane World Domination on another level. East 1999 Eternal is definitely Bone's best album. East 1999 and Down '71 Getaway hard as hell.

I'm a diehard BONE Thugs fan but I'm also glad this battle has brought newfound attention to both groups. 3-6 has a great underground club sound. BONE has an almost acapella street sound that verges on gospel. What you have to understand is both groups emerged underground before the internet. There was no instant response. They put out music for the fans and rivalries developed over time by word of mouth.
Just the fact all of them still alive, blessed to see this go down
Not all of em...2 of 3-6s members passed away

As a fan of both I secretly have always wanted to hear Bone rap over Three Six Mafia's instrumental beats ...Personally I think Bone sounds better at rapping but instrumental wise Three Six instrumental has always been fire ...Lord Infamous, in my opinion, was the main hitter of Three Six ..
🤔🤔🤔🤔 Interesting...I would like that too
Paul had some bars too
You must ain’t heard Murder On My Mind. Up There. It’s plenty songs with them on Paul beats. I agree though, Bone always had WACK beats! Some were fire, but they needed consistent fire. Hell yeah, I heard Break Da Law and In da Game in 1993
Yep! I was just saying I had that tape way b4 then.
Back in the days without Internet every city had its own sound. So it was strange for DJ Paul, Tommy Wright and the other Memphis artists to hear some guys from Ohio with triplet flows and Mo Murder and Satanism aesthetic. Back then it was about originality No other gimmicks. Nowadays every city sounds the same (more or less)
That’s just melody rap that’s like saying slimesito sound like Kay flock
They say Tone Loc took them to Eazy
Get Buck m#thaf#cha GET BUCK!!!!
I think that's why they felt like they was bitin...In the end it does seem purely coincidental, but for them to be relatively far apart and still have so many similarities in their music, image and everything else, I get why either one of them would jump to that conclusion
I hate that man, miss old hip hop
Thank you for getting triple 6 history correct. The whole RUclips gets the origin wrong
The Bone history is correct too. Many people don't know about the Faces of Death project.
Flesh was apart of Bone from the Beginning. He's on every album they put out except for when he went to prison for a while. He's even on the Creep'n on a Come Up album cover.
Their first album was faces of death and flesh wasn't on it. Only real bone fans know their real first album
I went through a 3-6 and Bone phase heavily, but at different times in my younger days.
It’s crazy looking back, for as different as they felt at their respective times, I was drawn to the same aesthetics: diy cassette sound, occult imagery, odes to getting fucked up, vocals as an instrument via melody - not necessarily lyrical content… so many overlaps.
They’re both legends in my lifelong musical taste.
Bone had good lyrics. "Follow me down the nine nine and you will find all of me kind."
@@labelmeposh so did Three 6, with the exception of my man Crunchy Black, but he was the comic relief like Flava Flav was to Public Enemy so you cant judge him too harshly
Yeah same, was a huge fan of Snoop and Dog Pound too
@@dtxspeaks268 I wouldn't write off Crunchy as solely comic relief so easily. He may not be as much of a lyricist, or a chopper like Lord Infamous, but he's got some mean ass bars. Not to mention his unique flow, wordplay, or the fact that he's a hook god.
There's a bunch of crunchy verses I can think of that are hard af. To name just one though, I think his verse on "Beacon n Blender" off of 6ix Commandments" (Da Mafia 6ix) is a good example. It's catchy, but gritty, real, and mean af.
Anyway, Crunchy _is_ a funny ass dude though lol.
22:08 Bone thugs-n-harmony also took shots at Twista, Crucial Conflict & Do Or Die on The Notorious B.I.G.'s song Notorious Thug and they also dissed Twista, Crucial Conflict & Do Or Die on their song U Ain't Bone from their album The Art Of War
I mess with bone thugs but I mess with three 6 too. I messed with bone thugs more when I was little. I got into three 6 late. Like around the time when stay fly came out. I got more into them as an adult, going back and listening to the serial killaz, lord infamous solo tape and juicy j da exorcists tapes. I like the old tapes better than the albums. Three-6 Mafia - Chapter 1: The End & Bone Thugs-n-Harmony - The Art of War are my favorite albums! Some of the greatest rap ever created on these 2 albums.
No Shorts No Losses one of the greatest showcases of lyricism and flow in all of hip hop, big respects to Bone s/o 3-6
"Same" style but different word play. Bone were much refined with their lyrics than 3 6 ever was. Yea yea 3 6 has lotta club hits, murder anthems and so on but they really don't last through time cause is easy to replace a club hit or murder rap with another one. Til this day Bone is unique in production and rhymes Even if you try to to copy them nobody will ever be able to duplicate what they did as a group.
Migos owe them much respect n most rappers today bc many tried rapping that migos flow which is bones frfr
i love bone thugs but the current underground sound rn is heavily Influenced by three six mafia and other Memphis rappers, 808s and Cowbells are big in the underground rap scene rn its called phonk
Well to be honest Bone is not really relevant anymore. Theyre kind of a stand alone group. Legendary yes but the longevity that 3-6 has Bone cant touch that. Not to mention 3-6 catalog is way longer. And when we talk about influence over the past 20 years thats all 3-6. No one is clamoring to get a Bone feature. Im not a Bone hater infact these are my favorite groups. I seriously think lord infamous is the greatest rapper because he mastered the triplet flow when everyone in Memphis at the time was using it and so was bone. And now, triplet flow is very prominent in today’s rap and I still don’t think anyone can do it like infamous.
