Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful work! GREAT discussion of same... I came away feeling like I'd had a 'conversation' with this artist. Thoroughly enjoyed!
I came to the knitting and stitching show and saw these pieces. They are so beautiful and meaningful. Thank you Maggie for highlighting these shocking statistics!
The report you cite about the death rate for women of color was just aired on NPR. I was stunned to hear this. There aren't enough words to describe how sad this is and how wrong it is. May I say how extraordinary your work is. Complex and beautiful and moving. Thank you for focusing on this issue.
Your work is stunningly beautiful. As an artist, I can see the immense amount of work and time you have put into these pieces. But I am curious about the back stories … I’ve experienced the deaths of three babies on my husbands side of the family in just the last ten years. To me, still, those statistics sound u real. I’m wondering if these statistics include all countries - including third world countries. That would make complete sense to me.
Thank you for watching and sharing your experience. Please find out more detail about Maggie’s very moving exhibition on her website www.maggiescottart.com/gallery
Great work... Although: In 2021, the stillbirth rate among babies born in the most deprived areas of England was 5.6 babies per 1,000 births: double that in the least deprived areas. In Wales, the 2021 stillbirth rate was a third higher in the most deprived areas. So this would seem to be something that affects poor white people too. It's a class issue and a poverty issue.
Thank you for sharing Lesley 🙏. Maggie’s work highlights a small part of a wider problem around mother and baby care - during and after pregnancy. Childbirth, stillbirth and the whole subject surrounding pregnancy health in all areas of society, is something we should definitely be discussing more. Thank you for your comments 🙏. Thank you for watching and sharing 😊

Puis-je demander, avez-vous utilisé les sous-titres français que j'ai ajoutés à la vidéo ?
