My dad worked at the Botany in Paterson NJ after he returned from WWII. I have a large photo of a company Christmas party in a frame. In the photo are my dad, his parents, and good brother and wife. I believe it's mom and dad and brother worked there as well.

The quality control measures taken are awesome! I recently purchased a Botany 500 vintage suit because it was my measurements and had a really really low price. It has that old mafia gangster look to the silhouette and stance while wearing it. It might have been a preceded the power suit of the 80's and 90's because the shoulder pads were pretty generous, but did not make me look like a football player who threw a suit over his football shoulder pads.
Since then and even more now after watching this, I am scouring the internet looking for Botany 500 suits in my size.

As someone immersed in the history and culture of the wool trade of Bradford (UK) I was really glad to see this. It matches a lot of what I know was happening in Bradford in the 40's.
Two little points: I was surprise the wetness of the wool was not tested, although it might have been tested on buying. It was the first thing tested in Bradford, because wool was traded by weight, and adding water was not unknown.
Secondly the fats and oils mentioned at 12:28 were lanolin; but the name is not used until later, when talking about cosmetics. Bradford sewage works used to extract and sell so much of it from what the mills washed into the sewers that the plant made a profit!
